More government meddling in personel choices about money. I think every government will keep up this mission creep until everyone has an account with a Central Bank and this is the only option available.
I moved my Paypal account to the UK a few months ago. I also use XE Currency to transfer money from the UK to my Thai account. I have used it about 20 times now. 2 GBP fee. Faultless and within 24 hours so far. WISE is rubbish. Okay if you are from the US i suppose.

Just submitted.
A couple of notes:
1) The UK issued NHS Covid Pass of vaccination does not have a passport number or nationality stated so wonder if they will accept that
2) No PDF uploads possible. Documents must be jpg, jpeg or png only
Received an email immediately saying that "Thailand Pass System has received your registration. The result of your registration will be sent to this email within 7 working days".
No problem with the Thai Embassy in London excepting my NHS one for a COE. Also its easy enough to convert pdf to jpg online for free in seconds.

I received my COE yesterday. I booked a SHA hotel for 1 night test and release in Bangkok for 4900B. If you subtract to PCR test out of this and the transfer and meals i guess it wasnt too bad. It was quite easy to book. It took a bit of time to issue the proof of booking. I am assuming that the hotel needs to upload all your information to some government department. So its not a straight forward book online process.
The hotel needed my passport details, The rip off covid insurance, Proof and dates of vaccination, Flight resrvation. All this appears on the booking confirmation that i received.

Well...again another post for nothing as we have been fed with that all afternoon
We also need the exact details
And, again this is not a quarantine-free travel, (although it is great improvement... if confirmed and recorded in the Royal Gazette)
Yes i am waiting for this exact thing. I am flying from the UK on the 5th and landing the 6th into Bangkok. Do i need a COE, Insurance, ASQ Hotel, Etc.

I've had 3 COE'S NOT from London, but another place and it took average 3-4 days. so plan 7-10 working days and you should be fine,
they will speed up your application depending on you actual travel dates.
Cheers

I would like to see a list as to the nationallities of people with Covid in Thailand. The only foreigners i have heard of who have Covid are from Myanmar and bribed their way into the country via the corrupt immigration team in Chiang Rai that the investigation has now gone quiet on.

My pet peave are markets. No control on the amount of people in and out. Yet you have to wear a mask in your car. Who dreams this stuff up.

Is anyone looking at or involved in the SilverSqueeze at the moment. I have been stacking Silver for many years and my Mrs thinks i am a total muppet. She might be right but i enjoy collecting coins anyway. Over the years Silver has been cheap so i only need to be right once in the future.

The pandemic is real for sure. Just take a look at India atm. As to lockdowns i am not sure if they work or not. Masks for me do not protect the wearer but help to protect the people around you when you are infected. Social distancing is the biggest protection for me along with personal hygene.
The one question i have is that how many people died of flu and pneumonia this past winter season? Seems like Covid was used to blame for all deaths.

Not true. I am a UK citizen and I bank with HSBC. For 10+ years, my registered address/phone number with the bank is my Thai address/phone number. I don't have a UK address. New credit/debit cards are sent directly to me here. As someone else pointed out, it could be challenging to open a NEW UK bank account without a UK address.
But i am assuming that you had this account originally whilst living in the UK?

Not my experience.
I am a UK national but not UK resident and have accounts with Halifax / First Direct / Nationwide in the UK. All have Thailand as my registered address. Only Nationwide has an issue with using my Thai telephone number for OTP's, but I do have a UK mobile number, so not a problem for me. However, I did set up the accounts when I had a UK address but subsequently advised them of a change to a Thailand address, with my details updated on their system. Certainly setting up an account with a UK bank without a UK address can be problematic as a number of recent topics on the subject indicate.
I have been contacted by the banks in respect of the Fatca regulations and requested to provide evidence of tax residency (TIN). I indicate this as being Thailand (Retirement extension) and advise that, as I do not work in Thailand I have no need for a TIN. This has been accepted, so far.
Fair enough. I would like to know though anyone who has set up a UK bank account with a debit card whilst being a non resident of the UK and with who? Also what constitutes a proof of address with UK banks. I always have issues with this. I have heard it might be possible to get round it with some of the new online banks.

So your point is Ole is rubbish and so is the manager who's team is top of the league and is arguably the greatest manager in modern history.
Its a long season. So let time be the judge. I didnt say Ole was rubbish, i said in my opinion that i thought long term for me and in my humble opinion there was a better person for the job.

It's not that simple, there is still a gap between us and City / Liverpool in terms of quality. And we were one of the teams which had no pre-season. When it comes to top level sport that does make a difference. Our first few games were essentially run outs to get match fitness.
Try and take the emotion or any entitlement out of it and view it as how any organisation should be run. Do you really think getting rid of Ole at this stage would be beneficial? He has put some positive things in place so let's let him build on them.
I love Ole but is he really a serious football team manager? I was never in favour of him having the full time permenant mangers job, That said i will still support him and stand by him and the team. Always. But i thought Pochettino was the man for the long term job at Utd.
Murhinio was never the manager for Man U and that decision still baffles me. By the same token i think the same situation exists at Spurs. The bus after a few trips in holding pattern round the car park will get parked up eventually. Leopards dont change their spots.

I use Santander and Halifax. They have had my Thai number for 5 or more years and neither have or have asked for a UK number. Why would a bank question my residency?
Because to have a UK bank account you need to be a UK resident. Resident not National. So you must have a UK registered address with the bank.

When the profits role in they are privatised. When the losses mount up its socialised. Same the world over. They should really tighten up this loophole on publicly traded companies. The first hint of any troubled waters or looming bankrupcy the assets of the CEO, CFO, Directors should be frozen and liquidated if required before any bailouts from taxpayers.
