  1. I'm currently having a bungalow built in Thailand. We know little about building so when the builder recommends a measurement we don't really know if it's normal or not. I wonder could someone tell me if the following specifications sound about right.

    1. The floor is raised 70cm. I've looked around and see that most modern bungalows are raised. I would like to know why? as two story houses seen to be built near on ground level.

    2. The roof is 3.5m from the floor level. Seems terribly high to me.

    3. Apparently the roof needs to be this height to allow for a 3m ceiling height. Any lower than this will lower the ceiling height.

Lastly. we are getting insulation that goes on the inside of the roof tiles. Can anyone give there thoughts on this type of insulation. does it keep the bungalow cool enough?

Never thought it would be so stressful watching a build. but I'm worried sick to be honest!

Any info would be gratefully received...

  2. Could anyone that has had a bungalow built in Thailand tell me what the height of the uprights are from floor to where they meet the roof?

My builder has suggested 3.5m. This seems very high to me and has me worried. I was thinking more like 3 or even 3.2.

If anyone could give me any info it would be greatly appreciated.

Are we serious, landscape or portrait, a copy is a copy whichever way you look at it.

The IO officer can't rotate a sheet of paper to read it.

    Forget it, rhetorical question.

I really would love to think it was a daft question and wouldn't matter, but I have heard so many stories.

I am all prepared to go for my first extension, spend days getting the paperwork ready, but I think I am now going to use an agent as I really can't be done with the hassle!

That depends if your IO have a particular preference in how your documents are displayed.

I used to copy two pages of my Passport on one A4 page.

This year my IO want one passport page of every page across per A4 sheet, (in black and white) allowing room for their stamp underneath which you sign within the box as a certified copy of the original.

As well as the completed TM7 for your extension application, also complete a TM8 for a re-entry permit.

Single entry 1,000 BHT, multiple entry 3,800 BHT.

The re-entry permit will be stamped in your Passport, stating 'single' or 'multiple' with the expiry date, which should be the same as your permission of stay date stamp.

  5. Couple questions to save a many wasted journy's.

Black and white or colour copies?

Reference the map? hand drawn or copied from a map app?

Does the wife have to attend?

Whats this I am hearing about a 2000 baht fee for them to do a house visit? Is that genuine? or just another scam?

Sorry guys, I have a list but as usual Immigration leaves many things off it, does seem to me that they do it on purpose just to mess people about !  But hey....

This is for CM Immigration plz, I understand they vary from place to place.

    Thx.

I'm not wasting any more time, about 2 hours already, which just costs me more in lost earnings.

I had good service, like when they sold me 16 tickets for 99 baht each but now, fk them.

I have had email after email and they totally contradict themselves, That Ava is totally a front to decieve also. Following this escapade I can honestly say that they are the most dispicable company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I really hope they go bust!

    An absolute shambles.

(And no I havent received the credit)

Black and white copies. Most offices do not care what color the signatures are as long as it is not red. A few offices want them in blue ink.

    And you sign your copies.

Original and a copy of the bank letter.

Oh, well I have just killed about 3 rain forests then doing everything I need in colour, oh well, black and white it is, I will redo about 4 hours work, LoL...

  8. Should copies be in colour? or black and white? and should all copies be signed in blue?

(I understand the wife signs her documents and the house owner signs theirs)

    One other question:

The bank letters, do they want 2 x originals? or just 2 x copies (I would take the originals to show, but was only planning taking 1 x original that the bank issed then submit 2 x copies.)

I have never gotten a refund from any Thailand domestic airline.

Spend hours in the past calling, going to the airport, etc.

Now, just move on not worth the hassle for 30 or 40 bucks.

Id agree with that one, but my flights were worth US 300, so gave it a shot, but again, 300 still isnt loosing my mind over, anyway, oh well,
