good luck trying to prove that you're a resident for tax purposes

You're confusing "ordinarily resident" and "tax resident". The latter is a quite specific term relating to where you receive your income and which jurisdiction is entitled to tax it. It has nothing to do with where you live. The Thailand-Australia Double Tax Treaty will determine your tax residence, but the default position of the ATO is that if your sole source of income is Australia you are a tax resident of Australia even if you are not ordinarily resident in Australia

Whatever reason people reject Jesus Christ, their rejection has disastrous eternal consequences. “There is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” than the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12), and those who reject Him, for whatever reason, face an eternity in the “outer darkness” of hell where there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 25:30). It's mind boggling how many people who have posted on this subject, reject God and the fact Jesus Christ died for our sins.

Some might suggest that with the COVID-19 virus we are dying for God's sin against humanity

we'll see if anyone with a valid concession card as at March 12th who happens to be temporarily in Thailand (or any other non-Oz place) on that date gets the $750 after March 31st.

The assumption is that Immigration's computers report to Centrelink. I've had a number of friends who report that they have personally experienced such a linkage. As you say, we shall see

well they may be expats but that does not mean they do not spend money back home in Australia.  They may have tax liabilities, businesses, employees, alimony, child support, properties, etc.  I guess it depends exactly on how one defines an expat.

I'm not sure that someone on the Australian pension is likely to have a business or employees. The government has clearly defined eligibility as someone actually in Australia on a certain date; anyone else is an expat, permanent or temporary

Your statements are totally incorrect sorry. Over the weekend the Centrelink system was upgraded to handle 55,000 from 5,000 actoins at a time and is being further upgraded. People can apply online and receive benefits for yesterday nd the Government has actively been promoting that and advising applicants NOT to queue but to do it that way. Additionally, an extra 5,000 call centre staff are being addd. Research first place.

Oh dear, it's happened again today - https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/mar/24/newly-unemployed-australians-queue-at-centrelink-offices-as-mygov-website-crashes-again

Sorry not here to nor do I have the time to do your homework. Go to the Government sites like Centrelink or press statements. Yes of course you have to be in Australia to get it, and NO , your statement again about late April is again wrong,  its starts the day you register and yes you have to have lost your job or for foreigners not have means of support and can not leave . As there are no flights thats a give me.

Your statement claimed that Australians stuck in Thailand would get it. Re-read what you wrote

Try reading the Australian papers from yesterday online before you rush into print. As well, the relevant minister has apologised this morning for yesterday's chaos, saying it was his fault - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-24/centrelink-minister-stuart-robert-not-anticipate-coronavirus/12080612

As well it is NOT possible to apply online unless you already have a Centrelink CRN. A Centrelink CRN is not the same as a MyGov ID and you cannot create a Centrelink CRN via a MyGov login, incredible though that sounds. MyGov is merely a portal

By asking foreigners to continue to attend and officers to continue to work at overcrowded immigration offices, they are knowingly endangering lives. Other countries have put measures in place to deal with immigration matters either online or later on. I hope Thailand will follow suit.

If you want to see government stupidity in action, check the stories from Australia about the hundreds of people queuing at Centrelink offices to register for unemployment benefits - something that (unbelievably) can't be done online unless you're in the minority and are already receiving benefits of one kind or another
