Even if we all stopped eating sea animals, the fisheries would still keep harvesting the sea and using the fish for farm animal feed, fertilizer, Chinese medicine, clothing and other stuff.

The sea life wont recover as we will keep dumping plastic, sewerage, chemicals, oil into the ocean even if we don't eat the fish.  In fact not eating the fish might be the worst thing we could do... as there would then be zero incentive to try to clean up the oceans and make the seafood safe!

Sad 'fact' is the sea and land are going to get more and more polluted and abused until there is little left, and pollution will destroy the environment.  Most of the human species is content to live in filth and pollution... just look at parts of India, China, and even the west.  Even with peoples health affected, people dying from pollutants etc noting is done.  Our species will destroy our own home and ourselves... heck we can't even stop having wars and killing each other over made up religions and superstitions.  The few humans with intelligence, conscience and morals are sadly vastly outnumbered by the majority of lazy, stupid and selfish people.

    I've had a pink I.D. card for 3 years.

Apart from showing it instead of a passport at hotel checkin and paying Thai price at national parks, attractions etc. it's not much good for anything else

does it prove your residence in a way which is sufficient for the Driver License Department?  So an immigration report would not be required?

They cant!  And in addition any documentation submitted by the applicant will be in their native language which would be impossible and unrealistic to think that the Immigration Officers could understand them.

I only can see that TI come up with a system that they will require the applicant to have the monthly payments deposited into a Thai bank account and that they would accept a copy of the bankbook as proof with some requirement that the book shows deposits for some predetermined period of time hopefully grandfathered at the start of the program.   I can show deposits on my US SSA account on a monthly basis back to January 2007.  My private pension goes back to 2000 but would be more difficult to show as it goes into a joint account that is used daily via internet banking and the bankbook hasn't been updated since October 2011.

I believe you are correct.  What I believe might be added to the mess is Bank verification of the total number of deposit's and their sum to your account from your home country per year.  It of would of course cost some small amount to get the bank verification stamped.

if your only worry is that 800 000 on Thai bank ….. you are allowed to take cash undeclared out Thailand on your flight up to 20 000 dollar value in any foreign currency , so you are very close to that 800 000, and my KK debit card works also in my Europe country on ATM....

I don't know about arriving in the USA airport the eventual problem for your 20 000 dollar …?

So no problem I think if only for the 800 000 , and I can tell you it works as a dream scenario when applying for another ret.extension  (just did my 5th one ) takes a good 5 minutes if all documents o.k.  ????

I applied for my first retirement extension at Nonthaburi immigration after previously holding a marriage extension.  It took 6 hours at Nonthaburi immigration because they did not believe I was still married.  I asked why does it matter, do I have to be married to have retirement extension? No answer

    I've never had to.

It was an BKK immigration official that told me to get retirement not marriage. Gave me what I think was a lot of bill about they had had too many marriage visas this month of 'dubious' foreigners and people above were looking at the dept.

I asked the man who was working on my retirement extension if I had to be married to get the retirement extension and he did not answer.

Once on retirement extension there should not be any 'wife' requirements unless for proof of residence.  The first time you change from marriage to retirement they often want to speak with wife to make sure she knows what is happening however.  That wife was not with you and did not want to attend I suspect was the reason for other paperwork.  When I change in Bangkok they required wife appear to obtain medical certificate of why she could not for the first year.  Since then never mentioned.

I understand, but was told I will have to provide proof of marriage every time I renew.

You can present a copy of the affidavit and they will take the original from the file for your visa application.

The amount of duties and excise taxes will depend upon the assessed value of it when it is imported. A customs agent should be able to give you estimate.

When I went to Nonthaburi immigration a few months back and changed from marriage to retirement extension of stay, because of the annoying home visits and my wife tired of missing 3 days of work each year, I was required to verify I was still married to her by getting a certified marriage document from the district office showing we were still married that day, despite phone calls by immigration to her work place in which she said we were still married, but she didn't like missing so much work with the marriage extension.  In fact last year she spoke to the woman in charge and told her of the problem and she recommended a retirement extension for me. I was told I would have to do this next year as well.  This is more documentation than I had to provide when we went for marriage extension. They also asked to see my original marriage certificate.  Which was never required when we went for marriage extensions of stay.  Is this typical?  I have to keep proving I am married to have retirement extension?

    1.  TM.7 and 1,900 baht fee.  Normal items are copies of passport data/visas/last entry/departure card and financial proof.  Believe proof of where living also required there.  Best to ask them as requirements do change from time to time.

    2.  If you still have the original and less then six months old should be accepted.  Be sure you also have some backup proof of income in case asked (pension papers/deposits/bank accounts or such).

    3.  Normally up to 30 days early - some such as Bangkok up to 45 days early.

    4.  You can obtain/use a re-entry permit for current permitted to stay.

    5.  No free tax ride for retirement.

  9. So random checks by immigration, checking and rechecking facts, with the assumption that a retired person is hiding what?  Moved somewhere else and didn't report like a good ol' boy?  The very reason I changed from a marriage to retirement extension was to avoid immigration's annual visit where I have to point to my clothes and  my wife and I have to sit on the bed for the sick entertainment of some immigration big shot.
