  1. With respect, yes indeed and coal gas contains hydrogen (Google) Common characteristic of coal-derived gases is to be chiefly composed of hydrogen which in- cludes high amounts of energy. In addition to this, coke oven and town gases comprise of near about methane of 25 % that is essential component of natural gas.
  2. Well I never - like Corporal Jones Butchers Van (Dads Army, UK comedy):
  3. Yes indeed, and not just Thai Boxing. Sadly it is a worldwide problem in many different sports, as I know very well. For over 25 years I was a qualified football (soccer) referee registered with the English Football Association. Although never physically abused, other than being spat at and a few pushes, the verbal and mental abuse was at times horrendous eg. phone calls to my house and scathing media reports, not about my ability to referee but the result of the game and blaming me - just as above with the Thai boxing referee. I could go on at length, but I will end with one incident where myself and my 2 assistant referees (linesmen in those days) had an armed police escort off the pitch after an U-18 International Youth Match between a Brazilian team and a Ugandan team. At the final whistle, the Brazilian team lost and all hell let loose with people running onto the pitch from all directions. Fortunately Brazilian Police Officers were on site and they escorted us back to the dressing room and eventually into our minibus. The spectators anger, I did not keep adding on extra time for the Brazillians to score!!!
  4. From my time with the Thai Tourist Police, I believe an arrest warrant/court order is requird to bring an individual to the police station for questioning in relation to a crime (e.g. for fraud etc.) For street/bar brawls, as we have read about recently in Pattaya and Phuket, arrest warrants are not required, the perpetrators can be arrested on site and taken in for processing. In the UK, Citizens have the power of arrest known as "Citizens Arrest", but it is rarely used with people leaving it to the Police:- You can make an arrest if the suspect is actually committing the offence or if you reasonably suspect them of committing it, or when the offence has been committed and you reasonably suspect them of having committed it. There is no specific wording to use when making a citizens arrest. However you must inform the person you are arresting as soon as possible what you are doing, why you are doing it and what offence you believe the person has committed. https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/ask-the-police/question/Q508#:~:text=You can make an arrest, when making a citizens arrest.
  5. Junta military personnel are kept in captivity unless they defect to the rebel "freedom" forces. Weapons, ammunition and other military equipment are taken and used by the "freedom fighters". Junta Generals who lose and surrender, face the death penalty from their own Junta's terrorist organization the Tatmadaw. Civilian personnel working for the Junta are kept in custody, and in a few instances, some have been murdered for collaborating with the Junta leading to the arrest/death of "freedom" fighters. I will not quote specific references as there are so many. Do a Google search.
  6. Thank you, I totally agree. So many over sweetend Thai products including bread, milk and drinks. IMO Thai mayonaise was the most disgusting I had ever tasted - so sweet! Compared to Cambodia, Thailand lacks a vast choice of low sugar/sugar free food products like we have on our Cambodian supermarket shelves. Mitrphol take note - stop causing obesity in your country!
  7. For reference: AFTER Karen National Union (KNU) and People’s Defence Force (PDF) fighters yesterday (Apr. 7) captured Myawaddy town, just across the border from Thailand’s Mae Sot town, Myanmar authorities used a chartered plane to fly things, believed to be cash, plus officials from Mae Sot airport to Yangon with Thai government’s permission , Thai Rath and Matichon newspapers said today. Removing cash from the Burmese banks in Myawaddy back to Rangoon, to prevent seizure by the KNU?
  8. Like involving its Royal Navy?? Today's news 5 April 2024: A Royal Thai Navy warship docked at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port in order to promote good relations and expand bilateral cooperation between the Royal Thai Navy and the Cambodian Navy. https://www.khmertimeskh.com/501468516/royal-thai-navy-warship-docks-at-sihanoukville-autonomous-port-in-order-to-promote-good-relations-and-expand-bilateral-cooperation/
  9. Yes indeed, it could be a kwai (water buffalo). My photo gallery source states "crazy goat" but thank you.
  10. Well I never - recently in the news knicker nickers knicker sniffers and now knicker snappers!
  11. Yes indeed - the concert party? From UK comedy - "it ain't half hot mum"
  12. I am not surprised:- " fermented fish entrails and a spicy curry paste, consisting of chili peppers" I hate chilli peppers and always have to tell the waiting staff "mai pedt krap"!
  13. A reasonable request IMO. The taxi driver has my full support. Yet another arrogant farang who thinks it is his "divine right" to smoke when it is against the law. During my time living in Thailand, all the taxis I travelled in displayed "no smoking" signs inside. I am a non-smoker so no problem for me. I found this photo amusing of a Thai taxi with warning signs:- No smoking No Durians No alcohol No dogs No bonking (sex) No weapons No crazy goats!!
  14. IMO, congratulations and praise must go to the Thai Rescue authorities for saving all the passengers and crew members lives in a timely manner - it must have been very traumatic for many of the folk on board. TAT may I suggest you change your slogan to "Unsafe & Untrusted Thailand" - get your act together! Marine accidents appear to be as common as Inter-Provincial bus accidents these days.
  15. Wow!! I wonder what sexual effect eating one of these might have:
  16. For those of you who chew Beef Jerky - take note of what you may be eating!
  17. I totally agree. DNA evidence on the hoe DID NOT MATCH either of the two Burmese lads. (wikipedia) There was one UK citizen who witnessed the murder, a friend of David Williams, who suddenly left the island and Thailand for the UK. It was believed he was "forced" to leave suddenly, in fear of his life. Whatever, he was innocent even though an intial suspect, so I am not going to name him. It is in the link. References: Witheridge and Miller travelled and arrived on the island separately on 25 August. Witheridge was travelling with three other friends, and Miller with two others.[11] The two met in Koh Tao while staying at the same hotel.[7][12] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koh_Tao_murders He (police spokesman) also said it was unlikely that police would be able to detain Mr.............................. David William Miller's roommate on Koh Tao, but if new evidence emerges they would ask for the cooperation of British police. Mr........... may return to the United Kingdom as early as tonight........DNA of 12 people had been tested, including nine samples from Myanmar workers and one from ................ the roommate of male victim David William Miller. The tests found none of the DNA matched that collected from semen found in the female victim's body, ............... Police sources said Mr .......... was stopped as he was about to leave Suvarnabhumi airport on Tuesday and placed under police questioning. https://www.posttoday.com/lifestyle/318590
  18. With respect, nothing other than to inform vaping is also illegal in Cambdia should anyone from Thailand decides to do a border run into Cambodia who uses vapes.
  19. Yes indeed. Maybe all the pot head ex-pats in Thailand will emigrate to Germany when the recreational use of Cannabis becomes a criminal offence again.
  20. As it is in Cambodia, should you be considering a border run, however vapes can be purchased at illegal "underground" outlets but there is a risk: Cambodia banned vaping back in 2014 along with shisha products. To top it off, just to prove how serious they were, they banned it again in 2021. (ref. Google) The Consumer Protection and Fraud Repression General Department of Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the National Authority for Combating Drugs on Saturday burned 288 boxes of UOLO e-cigarettes, equivalent to 7,200 packs, at a landfill in Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district. https://www.khmertimeskh.com/?s=e-cigarettes vaping in cambodia is very much illegal in all regards, you can and will face judicial punishment and could be giving time in prison as well as outrageous fines. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g293939-i9162-k11437675-Vaping_in_Cambodia-Cambodia.html
