  1. I have been twisted around a bit with the treatment of my little dog. Can someone please recommend a good English speaking, straight talking Vetinarian preferably in my area. I have been mucked around a bit with his treatment and would like another opinion before I go completely bonkers.

  2. Many thanks for the information. I have been looking for an access road which I felt would start from the road behind the Royal Alpine Golf Course (a road I often use). To this day I haven't been able to find the start..but great to know that a hand poured concrete road to the site exists. I did start driving one road yesterday but that led onto a gravel rutted track some 300 metres in so pulled out of that one.

I would love to be many years younger to hike the trail but I'm not;  I also have my old dog who is needs some monitoring due to his health so if I'm going to do it, it will be in my front wheel drive Honda HRV.

    Cheers

    Brian.

    Hi Basso,

You can drive up there. Road is hand pored concrete. I've seen sedans up there but I would only do it with a 4x4 since the last part is steep. I've been up a couple of times with my scooter and dirt bike. Nice ride and beautiful views.

I've also hiked the doi. There are at least 5 ways to reach it by foot. If you want to make pictures go by foot!

Google will not guide you to the top but if you put 18.6703708, 99.1838176 in your GPS you will be at the start of the road that leads to the doi.

PM me if you need more info.

  4. I see this mountaintop structure quite often on my photographic outings in the Ban Thi district of Lamphun. I understand it could be known as the Doi Thon or Doi Ngom Viewpoint and sits on the border of CM and Lamphun. I would like to access it if possible to experience the views and take some photos. Would anyone have some information on this site and if it has a driveable access. Many thanks if you can post some info. I have attached a photo to know what I'm seeing.

  5. My wife is a teacher at a local international school and has been for 18 years. In two years time she has to retire from her job due to her age, but at the moment seems to enjoy cooking after her return from work each day, but she sometimes picks up some noodles on the way home. I'm now 70 and enjoy driving out to rural locations with the retired dog to fly my drone and take photos, I also enjoy amateur photography with the few cameras I have. I stay away from malls unless with my wife and generally travel in the opposite direction to our small city centre which is currently full of tourists.

  6. I always look forward to having my vegan lunches from Guan Imm and elsewhere  on the weekends though I'm not a vegan. My meat intake though is lite, maybe a few times a week.

  7. Yes done to death I know but I will give my question a go.

I took out a health insurance policy last year for total cost of 209241 baht (over $AUD9000). Yes gasp gasp, but the policy was taken out at age 69 having had a heart attack early 2020 with a stent inserted. Following this event I stopped drinking and lost about 20kg in weight.....so leading a very health lifestyle oh yes, non smoker. However with this policy there is a moratorium of 2 years......so any heart problem or problem connected with the heart I pay myself if still vertical; there is a Nil Excess but Inpatient only, also International coverage except USA. So if I'm laid up with anything other then coronary all good.

As the end of my first year is 6.12.23 I am dreading paying out so much money......but will if I can't find anything cheaper with equivalent coverage. My recent comprehensive health check up was great except for low B12 and borderline high iron.

My question if if you have lasted this long.......does anyone know where I can do better cost wise considering my age and circumstances? Cheers.

  8. Thanks for that. I am now back in CM from Sukhothai and will do my next 90 day report early July without doing anything else in the meanwhile. On the day of reporting via the Immigration drive through I will see what happens; nothing or something. If there is BS about my stay out of province I will then action your information. Again many thanks for your information.

    Most common is 800baht fine.

You did not address the OP question.

Finding out how to get it right is the big question for when I travel inter province in the future. At the moment it seems that once I return to CM I download and fill out a TM 30 and take it to a CM Immigration counter for registration? My landlord has nominated her Real Estate agent to deal with it which has proved to be not helpful.

Tell her do not file a TM30.

If she has then given you deal with CM, you would need to file a TM30 when you arrive back home in CM.

Yes mad crazy but in the end immigration sets the rules..

CM is not following the rules.

    No idea of motive.

As my Thai wife has noticed our 2 night stay in Sukhothai has started to be a TM30 stress fest on my behalf, she rang our landlord about it. The landlord said on our return we just needed to take my passport to CM immigration; show the original TM30 receipt in the back of my passport and tell them we are back, please update...????

That's all she needs to file a TM30 online.

She most likely took photo as no photocopier or whatever.

You should have asked her if she was doing a TM30.

CM is not following the new rules as of June 2020.

The TM30 is required at CM for stays out of province or abroad.

That is rubbish but rogue offices can do as they please.

As this is my first night in Sukhothai I will ask the owner tomorrow if she is filing a TM30.....if she does what does that mean in my situation?

  12. Guess this topic has been done to death and a lot of varying info on it. Just seeking a straight answer...I am residing in CM and do my reports there in person. The rear of my passport has the TM30 receipt from my landlord. Currently in Sukhothai for 2 nights in a Homestay then returning to CM . The property owner here has a photo of my passport page to report my stay to immigration in Sukhothai; some other info from elsewhere says within 30 hours of return to CM I download TM30 fill out and submit to CM Immigration online or in person. Further info says my landlord does it. My stay in Sukhothai is beginning to be filled with too many questions in my head. Only recent on retirement extension in CM  and have done 2 90 day reports. Can any learned person out there please tell me what to do
