This is key. The rest of the world is not doing great and so it is difficult to say what will happen. Several major countries were happy to let their currencies fall, even before the present pandemic pandemonium. It's all relative and Thailand remains relatively strong, financially.

The USD is still (nominally) king and regarded as a safe haven but the amount of dollars recently created would have driven any other currency way down. A long way to go with this yet but I don't think any of the potential outcomes will be good. I don't expect the baht to drop much against other paper, whatever.

Ill use the 3 month chart USD/THB as an indicator of whats goin on...some pretty obvious price action.

If anything it will strengthen. Thailand is not as stupid as the West in spending trillions to keep people under house arrest.

Thailand has already said they anticipate some big borrowing soon, even if not, developing economies like this, with tourism wiped, durable goods orders halted, do not need a high baht.

Its moved from 29 to near 33 per USD, banks are calling it to go 36-37. That range in a couple months if not sooner, the recovery decides if it re-strengthens. I dont see it falling more then that. The THB was high in part to strong performing thai econ. Was already weakening before virus hit. Its not bad for Thailand if baht drops a bit more.

  3. I did 90 day online report a couple of days ago. First I tried on phone, and could not get it to work as they added a lat long requirement to report location, and everytime I pressed button it would shut down App on my android.

So I fell back to usual method on laptop that has no lat long requirement and worked easy as pie using chrome browser.

Approved less than an hour later.

It’s not a ‘new slogan’ and it has a very specific definition:

Exactly. All from what do you derive this threat? A couple of tweets right. And oh my, here you are issuing warnings to Democracy.

When Trump is gone in 5 years the tape of the insane will continue to repeat from coffee bars everwhere handrolled cigarettes and and brave revolutionaries can be found hiding their self defeat, and internal cries of failure, in claims of having a better way for all, and the best of five year plans to move the massline.

He is a very dangerous man is the position of a mighty power he does not know how to control nor should ever have been given.

Yet strangely people accept Presidents for life without question, but Trump will be gone in only 5 years. I wonder if the realization and inner turmoil of serving an evil totalitarian dictatorship will drive such people insane as they direct hatred toward the next, and next US President.

Many things globally will crash..if not worse.

Currencies are part of the equation.

If one gets a pension in foreign exchange sent to Thailand, the crash may be good and yield more grub.

If one has bought property much before the crash, once it crashes, the property will highly loose value, on selling and sending back funds abroad.

Regulators could be tempted to create inflation, in order to balance and avoid foreign investments not to loose much...but the commoner will suffer....

And prices will hike for all imports due to the THB cra$h...so what one may gain in the THB cra$h, will be lost as greed will once again rule, all prices will hike...

What's the point here ? well, what one gains on one side, is unevitably lost on the other....so in this context, I may not dance and rejoice to much in global currency cra$hes....

You do not have the prognostication abilities to predict such an uncertainty as a baht crash, or something even worse globally.

There is hope that all is not lost, and that the global economies will fire back up soon.

A change in the currency between currency between to nations is not a gain or loss between one or the other unless you are involved in trade with those two currencies.

A fall in the baht of 2 or 3 against the USD or others would not be a bad thing for Thailand.  An aid to export, and likely, as they are going to commence borrowing soon.

As for regulators ( I presume you mean central banks) attempting to try something called creating inflation....in a world that just will be crawling out of a near shutdown, and has added trillions in debt, it would be strange indeed if we saw global central banks start raising rates. That would be quite a twist.

Everything will be okay if money finds a way to help those hurt the most.

I can't dispute what you said about biden , I respect your opinion as a patriot. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. The scene,Oval office ,reporters, biden and Mr. Trump, kinda like a mini debate. Seeing that  biden imop is hiding behind his wife and the teleprompter,

I think most Americans want to see the alternative to Mr. Trump and what very little he has to offer, besides forget me not's .What does he have to lose!

Yeah, I follow you. I think I jumped in on a response to something I did not see the begining of.

What´s the problem with you? Is there something really serious? When have I said that I hate America? Never!

That only thing that is in the way for you to understand that, is your mega patriotism. Something that is built in from the early years and gone through generations. You are simply brought up to believe that USA is the most righteous country in the world, and everything they do and stand for is right. That´s a like! It´s false information, that have been fed to you. I have chosen a stance in life, where I look at every single action that different countries do. I can tell you that there is a lot, I can talk about that is wrong with Iran, Irak, Saudi Arabia, as well as Thailand, Sweden, USA, UK and all other countries in the world.

That does not mean that I hate any country or specific citizens from any country. It´s just that some will take a stance that makes them more visible and almost makes them look like they are asking for getting bashed. Same like you do here. Just accept that there are no real international waters in the Persian Gulf, and that there if only an Innocent Passage that are allowed. After that we do not have to hate anything, anyone or any country. Never done, never going to.

The thing here is that you are taking things on a personal level, because you have been brought up to stand behind and protect your countries actions whatever they might be. When applying common sense on that concept it breaks apart. The reason for that is that there are no country, person or an action that are always right. The world is not just black and white, even if you believe or want it to be. That´s just a pure fact.

You hate America, Americans, Democracy, Freedom, and you support the CCP, and the regime in Iran. That is plain as the difference between black and white. There is no shades of gray here. Obvious by your posts.

The Middle East nations have every right to be concerned by the presence of American warships off their shores.

What may be seen by one side as 'Showing the Flag' is viewed by the other side as an Act of Aggression - whether real or perceived.

And based on past examples they have every right to be concerned - frightened even.

If even a modicum of good will, concern, or compassion was shown by those 'Invaders" the outcome would be decidedly different.

But that is a Forlorn Hope

Even if the US were not there... the Iranians fire on other shipping, not flying US flag, not carrying US cargo.  And were not talking about the "middle east nations" many of whom welcome US fleet presense. We are talking specifically about Iran, specifically about Iranian gunboats, and specifically that its about time the situation is delt with. A little gunboat diplomacy is in order.

    Hear Hear

I especially like the one about Lend Lease - make Billions on the suffering of their Allies

Another example where we find the Operative makes a quick run to wikipedia finds something obscure and tries to fit it in. Even though it comes off so strangely it isn't picked up by the Operative as context is lost upon him. The Propaganda Ministry severely suffers from thousands of years of closed culture. And recent steps into the modern world leave them sorely lacking. Try as they may, and the English is perfect, they still come across as 3rd rate if even compared to Nazi attempts to get behind enemy lines. They're a riot! Example such as this are all over TVF pick a subject and they are there. Nuance is lost on them and they smoke out as easy as termites.

    Thanks for the encouraging word.

The topic was clickbait to begin with and the thread has descended into farce.

The posts are so strange here and everywhere. Written it seems by people with no first hand knowledge of topic...so they quickly go review a couple of websites, then post this mess of facts jumbled together weirdly, which then causes replies from those outraged by such strange opinions, that I don't know, seem to come from paid posters in some farm somewhere in Wuhan.

A crazy theory I know but it seems to happen on every topic. Surely such an idea would drive up ad revenue, but I have no proof of such a crazy idea..........

  13. The contingent in support of Iran and CCP attacks and or harrassment against international shipping is out in full support of evil today.

    Perhaps some perspective.

Last year Iran harrassed and attacked shipping on more then one occassion in international waters. These ships were NOT flying the US flag nor were they serving US Companies.

In the South China Sea, using their 9 dash imaginary line the CCP has harrassed  several fishing and merchant ships from several countries, also in international waters.

The USA continues to conduct freedom of Navigation operations in international waters to keep these waters open in accordance with international law.

When Iran chooses to send their young men in small boats to harrass US warships in international waters they do so knowing they put Iranian lives at risk as if no more than cannon fodder.

These operations are dangerous and therefore result in diplomatic complaints to pertainant international bodies.

When a ship goes to General quarters men are running full speed across and up or down several decks, while the ship is making evasive maneuvers, while donning combat gear, as hatches are being slammed shut as they attempt to slide through. Despite repeated drilling this is in itself a dangerous operation.

Meanwhile as gun and missile stations are manned all anxiously await, not happily or gleefully, an order which will potentially result in dead people, while at the same time having thoughts of a weapon being used against them. It is a very tense time. It's not funny. There is no hoorah attitude in such moments.

The people here who would support regimes that harrass international shipping by these sick regimes are a sick bunch. Who are either filled with self hatred, or hate the current international order, presumably because they would like it to be run by China or Iran.

They claim to care about goodness and honesty and wax philosophically about their own virtue and how much they care about the world, but in light of Irans attacks on International shipping last year, here they are to defend the regime. A murderous regime that they argue is equitable with the USA. These people make me want to vomit!
