If the above were implemented it would restore expatriates confidence in the immigration policy and make expats feel that Thailand also appreciates and welcomes the contribution they make to the local community.
How many retirees attend their local community meetings?
Most of them wouldn't understand a word being said.
Many contribute to the Boonrawd fund and poor farmers fund. lol

2. Visa agent #1. I have access to the 800k immediately n the following year need to have 800k 3 months seasoned before renewal again.
3. Visa agent #2. I have access to the 800k but was not sure.
4. Visa agent #3. I do not have access to the 800k for 3 months after the extension is approved n not below 400k for the remainder even before march 1st.
Why on earth use an agent if you have the 800k? It's not like you have work to do.

monthly transfer 2000 euro from my dutch bank to my KTB Euro account cost me 5.20 euro
Ridiculous, just wait until Ripple XRP replace SWIFT, there will be no cost and instant transfers.

Those receipts go into your application package, but I have never heard of the interviewers ever asking about it.
Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa ConnectI was also advised that a letter from the charity that I donated to was a good idea. Something like Mr.X has been a regular donater for x years.

Just give charity to Red Cross, its under HM Queen Receipts are give you right away, and you need to give breaking amount for 5000THB before you apply for Nationality.
you can start 5 months to 8 months before 1000THB per month and keep the receipt.Good luck to all of us.
Yes, they told me something similar. The 5 year period that is written down somewhere doesn't matter, a few continual statements would suffice.

Thai ability helps towards the points count but isn’t compulsory (eg singing ) if applying with a Thai spouse.
As such, if your points are coming from other categories (income, education etc) then having he help will probably be less of an issue.
Thanks for the reply! So theoretically, if the MOI ask you to sing the songs, you can refuse.

I always believed that and worked and paid tax and SS for 15 years However one day missing it's back to square one, plus most come here to retire, not work
What do you mean 1 day missing? If you change jobs when the process is ongoing, they allow you time of a week or two to transfer jobs. I bet you wish you had done the process now.

In the previous post you said you are moving to Cambodia, but now you can't keep petty 3 month income in a Thai bank account?
More likely is that your income is 35k baht a month and Thailand is doing exactly right to rid of people like you who lied on income affidavits.
Good riddance ????

Apologies if this question has been asked already as I don't have the time to read all 54 pages of replies at time of posting, but will it come next that the 400k for marriage extension (supposed living expenses) will need to be kept in the bank at all times?Come on guys look into your crystal balls.
You might have to sell your Harley and buy a bicycle. At least it will keep you fitter and therefore live longer!

Guess it is time to start skipping the 90 day reporting, which is a rather draconian requirement anyway. Things are just going from bad to worse. The exodus of ex-pats will continue. This tone deaf and extremely incompetent administration continues with their errant ways. One has to hope that come election time, they are gone baby gone.
They have sped up the Naturalization process dramatically, and made it much easier in the language requirementfor people that seriously want to live here. Like all governments, good for some and bad for others.

So that will discriminate between condo owners and guys like me who have paid for a nice home for themselves and their family. But it would be a good idea.
A word of warning to those future guys like you - RENT, don't buy.

That would be fantastic if 3 years or less could become the norm!
Dbrenn said 2.5 years, so that's what I'm hoping for, not there really is any rush.

When the Junta took over and General Anupong took over responsibility for the Ministry of the Interior, this section was cleaned up, and they started clearing up the backlog. So, yes, this government greatly improved matters concerning citizenship. So despite my great disdain for this government, I cannot in all honesty say that they haven't improved anything.
3 cheers for the Junta!!!

There is no Time frame, but as i heard from Special Branch, they said starting from 2014 they speed up work, before it was even 5 years, but now they reduce time frame maximum 3 years to 3.5 year.
this is the same word i mentioned is from SB officer.
I was told that 3 years was expected.

However, my case based on marriage was ‘normal’ and it took 4 and 1/2 years. Completed November 2018. I posted more timeline details previously.
I looked for the timeline but couldn't find it.
I wonder if newer citizens took less time because of the new government?

No singing was required and Thai wife can help with all conversations/interviews including reading the multiple choice test at SB.
Wow, that's interesting. I'm surprised the MOI accept that.

Some of them mention if you have a Thai wife you just need to stay in Thailand 3 years not 5, some of them says if you have wife you don't need to hold permanent residency.
In this website I read about donation NOT at the time of the application and not less than 5000THB.
So I live in Thailand almost 2 years and next year I'd like to apply for citizenship. This year we will marry, not sure is it possible this way?
If yes, what's the process right now? (Thai language I need to practice for sure more).
regarding Thai language, how long is the conversation and usually what is the topic?
It is easy to make a donation and get the date backdated. People are happy to take your money ????
After you get married, you have to wait at least 3 years.
Simple conversation like why are you here in Thailand, what is your job, etc. The written test is pretty simple, so learn to read. When is Mother's day? etc, multiple choice, 10 questions. The officer corrected one of my answers, before finishing, as it was wrong.

Also is it possible to hold dual citizenship from Thai side? So if my country allow to hold, Thai can allow too?
There is no law that states this but no law that is enforced to take away dual citizenship.

** I am not Sure *** As i heard @ MOI its not required to sing National Anthem and Phra Barami but SB will sure want to listen from you.
This was not required for myself and all others I know. Maybe you were just under the 50 required points.

Typical, I apply for Thai Citizenship then they give any tom dick or harry a 10 year visa!

I read on this tread somewhere that it could be 3/4 days notice.
2 weeks would be enough for most to travel back from wherever they are abroad.
