  1. I marvel at the accuracy and attention to detail in the Thai news reports:

"At the incident, there was a Honda (Wave), license number 125."

"The damaged motorcycle’s license plate, No. 965, was stuck on the bumper."

Why bother even mentioning the license plate number? But, if deemed necessary, vital and newsworthy information, please don't confuse it with the motosai model number, which apparently was a Honda Wave 125.

Also, why give the full addresses of the victims? Tip-off to thieves that there might be an empty house or apartment?

    SERIOUSLY! What the hel_l...? :o

  2. Agreed, he was a tight fisted git as is his brother !!!

Jokes aside, it did not happen in Thailand.

I have ( honest, don't shoot ) known personally men who have been taken to the cleaners by Thai GF's, but never to this extent. Only posted it as a warning that sh-it does happen when one allows willy to rule the old noggin.

For every bad story there are hundreds of good stories. Last night I went around to see an old mate of mine for 5 years. He met his missus in a bar 4 years ago. From a few visits to that bar they grew on each other and ended up together on a permanent basis. They bought a condo and after 2 years now have a lovely baby and have moved into bigger digs by way of a townhouse. He loves his wife and baby so much, we were doting over the baby all night and his wife is one of the sweetest women I have ever met with a great sense of humour to boot. This man would never return to a life back in Australia, he told me himself last night.

I'm truly happy for your pal.

  3. There are actual cases of men building expensive houses for their Thai women and being evicted from the house they built as it is in the name of the Thai woman.

whoa , steady on old chap.

are you sure , seems highly unlikely to me , do you have any proof of such evictions ?????

    :o Lies, I say!

  4. You need to get back to the states and get your life sorted!

The amount of money that you owe is next to nothing, people everywhere get visas granted when they have huge mortgages to pay so if you get your act together, get a job and pay your taxes like everybody else does you might get your visa....

You will also gain the self respect to be able to call yourself THE MAN!!

    Good luck

    Mark

So many winning responses to the OP, but this one is my most favorite.

Steven, I hope you're spot on about your teeruk, or else you'll soon find out that once there's no more money, there's no more honey. As we say here in NYC, " Fix yo' shiet!"

  5. Thanks guys for the responce..Its really not the 3k tax that i'm concerned with..it really is no money in bank and what have i done the last few years, and what will we live on in the states..Yes i have money to do what i need to do but can't prove it..infact what happens when my visa for here runs out..I can't prove i make 40k a month and now don't have 400k ect..Oh my who said living was easy..it is if you live alone in the states and go out with women that make you sick in the states..did i tell you my thai wife things I'M THE MAN? My girl friend in the states would drink millers all day and ask me to go to Burger king for dinner.

In the states I'm white trash

In thailand if i'm white i'm right

Does trol or b/s come too mind for anyone...........................!!!!!!!!!

    Maybe he is a troll.......................

But just being white in Thailand doesn't mean your right, it most likely means you are a walking ATM :D

    :o:D

  6. I know many of them believe in spells and ghosts etc theres been a few posts in the Isaan room about it

Stories of when a new baby is born, everyone who comes to see it coments on how ugly it is so the ghosts dont come and steal it is one that spings to mind

actually i think that is because babies generally ARE ugly

    LMAO :o

  7. My wife told me about someone her family knew (he lived up in Chiang Rai, pretty rural area) and he had done black magic, tattoos and maybe even a sacrifice, well he couldn't be killed by knife or gun, in fact he was shot and stabbed on several occasions. She said when he was too old they put him in the grave and had to beat him on the head and then buried him.

    :o:D

On a serious note, I swear some hottie casts a spell on me once a trip in LOS....SERIOUSLY.

  8. I hear that several Pick-up owners listen in on Police radios, and when they hear of a bad accident they race to the scene and offer to take the dead and injured away for treatment or to the Morgue.

Of course in situations like that one is grateful, if hurt for a speedy trip to Hospital.

But, when they leave you there, your money and valuables go with them!

    Rotten lot eh?

    Scummers! :o

  9. Not that I'm excited (much!) 4 weeks time I'll be arriving to eat from street vendors, drink cheap booze, soak up your sun and possibly chase the odd female if i can find one

Odd female, eh? :D Anyhow, enjoy your trip, lucky dog. Just got back last week and counting down until my next trip back anywhere between July and September. :o

  10. Which reminds me. I was 3/4's of the way through the Immigration line-up when it dawned on me that I hadn't bought a Departure Tax ticket. Never even saw a kiosk selling them. Thought I must be confused or something. Went all the way through into the Depature area, and no Tax ticket !

Good point that I almost forgot also, Kerry. Was wondering about this point also. Also, thanks for the post reference, Thaiflyer!

  11. Just got back to the USA and used this service for pickup from Pattaya to airport based on this post. With the exception of the pickup being 10 minutes late, no complaints whatsoever! Thumbs up to Sirisong & RRC! :D

Bet you did not miss the bus though. :o

Well duh :D The anxiety was a killer though considering the way things typically run in LoS also combined with the fact that 19:00 was the last bus to the airport.

  13. Out side Italy there really is no such thing as Pizza - there are things called pizza but they are about as similar to real Pizzas as cowpats.

Bite your tongue; NYC has the next best pizza and people travel from all over the world for it! :o
