  1. Had a Moderna 3rd vaccine recently, got less reaction than with AZ.

AZ sore arm for 4 days.!

Moderna sore arm for 2 days.!

Note: Was talking with a Doctor and mentioned I had the choice of Pfiser or Moderna for 3rd shot and I chose Moderna, his response was 'good choice, looks like it offers better protection than Pfiser'.

One mans food is another mans poison as they say. ????

    Quite possible so.!

Ask Mr Google about the sh*t pigs of Goa. I wonder how it will answer.

Briefly the toilets are suspended above an enclosure with pigs in it, they eat what you deposit, later, when it's time, it's served up as pork, in any form.!

They say it has a unique aroma, not that I've tried it.

The leak is not from the threads - it seems to be coming from the hose where it enters the gun end. The water runs down the wall and leaves a stain as well (another negative).

I did buy an expensive metal one... I am thinking bidet and forget the whole bum gun.

Again, check the ends where the 'O' ring or washer is.!

The hose from a hand held shower it the same only longer, another option is to try one of them.

Finally, as I was concerned about hose failure when we are not home I installed a tap, first, before the hose.

If one was installed on your system, guarantees no hose leakage if turned off after use.!

Yes, I did take it apart and use plumbers tape on the threads

Not such a good idea to use Teflon (plumbers) tape as it does not compress.

On plastic fittings this incompressibility puts more than enough pressure on the fitting for it to crack, yes, even on chrome fittings as most are chrome plated plastic.

Best used only on metal fittings.

On either end of the hose there is usually a rubber 'O' ring or washer, a fine 'smear' of silastic on either side of the washer, or around the 'O' ring prior to assembly can be helpful in sealing the hose joints.

    Good European brand is Grohe

    Good local manufacturer is Heng

via Ali Express = no customs.

Maybe not so true, usually Ali-express knows and will add VAT/GST to the total.

If they don't be careful as it will get stopped in the post office and won't be delivered unless you pay the tax.!

I know, we got caught not from Ali-express but Alibaba itself, brought an electric door closer and had to pay something like tax 1600bht when it arrived to get it.

And certainly be careful with the LEDs from the US as they will probably  be 110v.

Don't know what price LEDs are on Lazada, may be worth a look see.!

AA cancelled a flight I was due to take, but getting a refund/credit from them seems an impossible job.

You would think it would be perfectly reasonable, they cancelled the flight, so they should refund you.

But this is AirAsia, they cancelled flights on us too, sent us an email declaring we could have a refund or credit, we chose refund, 12 months later after so many times on their useless 'chatbot' we got nothing, so luckily as I had booked them via Australia, I got the local consumer protection involved, eventually they were forced to refund.

They are a one way valve, just like the one at the end of your digestive tract, in this case a one way money valve, once in their system, not possible to retrieve it.

When AirAsia X collapsed, all creditors, that is people who had brought tickets and received a credit (known as unsecured creditors), will get (they haven't paid out yet) 1/2 cent in the dollar.

AirAsia is most probably the worlds worst discount airline.

Good luck, I hope you succeed, please share your story if you do as many out there would also like to know how to get refunded from them.

There is a separate charge for the swimming pool printed at the counter just before the swimming pool. Thai citizens have to pay 55 baht to use the pool , foreigners much more.

We certainly did get lucky - there was no counter, just a woman collecting locker fees.

Mind you it was a while back.

Sounds like it's just another place that see farangs as cash cows now.

I think there are extra charge for the pools (that is separate from the entrance fees), how much do they charge foreigners for using the pool?

Entry into the park gives you access to the public pool, but there are private 'spa/bath' rooms also, which I think are 300 bht, but we didn't use one so don't hold me to that price.
Also there are lockers for your clothes when you go swimming, not sure, but they may have been 10 or 20 bht key deposit.

What was the final outcome after the argument with the ticket staff? Did they call security?

Oh I just paid them, think it was 100/150bht.
The counter staff are just minions, they don't make the decisions.

The other half just stormed off telling them where to go or some such in Thai.

The garden/springs/pools are quite good, I just wanted to get in and enjoy them

  10. When we were there years ago there seemed to be another establishment next door (to the left of the main entrance) it looked like the 'lesser' and we didn't bother going in there.

    Has anyone ever been there.?

    What's it like.?

And are they (the main hot springs) still charging farang prices for us.?

The other half (some may say better half) had one hell of a 'barney' with the staff when they charged me farang price.!

  11. Probably just picking up a little EMF (electro magnetic interference), LEDs are very very efficient, requiring very small amounts of electricity to light up.

Take a standard  fluorescent tube (old type, not LED) and stand under one of those high voltage tower lines at night, and the tube lights up, no wires connected. same at radio transmission sites, it's all the 'loose' electrical energy floating around.

Could well be a similar thing to that but obviously on a much smaller scale.!

It's clear that you don't have any idea and are just throwing mud at the wall; hoping it will stick.

So why choose to throw mud pointlessly.?

    Maybe you delight in it.?

Had you bothered to read the device I mentioned TP link MR6400 is a cat6 4g device capable of carrier aggregation.

And what, do we not talk about the provider (telco) limitations, or the limitations caused by the traffic, or the distance from the tower.?

And who really cares anyhow, all the OP wants is a device to connect to the 4g network, a little more permanent than using their phones hotspot all the time.!

Most just want the internet to work and are not interested an how or why.!

    End of.!

Not altogether true. Without the ability to utilise Carrier Aggregation, it cannot be as fast as the SIM is capable.

    Splitting hairs really.!

OK so I should have said  'and "almost" as fast as your SIM can provide.'

But realistically who's going to notice the difference and how.?

So what about you, good water pressure in your area ?

Just average, that's if we get any at all..!

Often the water is just turned off from about 9am till 6pm.

It's pretty poor quality water anyhow.

We just fill the water filter (tank type) in the morning and a few buckets to get through the day.

Turning off the towns water is just 'Thai' style water restrictions when the supply gets low, I would suggest lowering the pressure may be another way, but often with old infrastructure lowering the pressure also reduces wastage from leaks.

We're out in a little village several Kms from San Patong so not on C Ms water supply.

IMO India and Oz are hardly comparable. India is a crowded country with loads of very poor people, and Oz is the opposite.

Stick enough people crowded together and the results are pretty inevitable IMO.

Exactly, however the comparison intimated in the original post was with the 'controls in place'.

India didn't bother doing lock downs, with hundreds of thousands of people attending events with low vaccination numbers.

Were all those people masked and locked down (as best you could) with 90% vaccinated, the outcome would be completely different.!

BTW as of yet there is no confirmation of decreased efficacy of vaccines against this new variant.

I thought that they only waived it if for example your admitted unit date is say 30th Oct and you have a red eye flight in the early hours of the 31st Oct.

I was once (2015 I think), by only about 6 hours (early morning flight out) and yes, no fine but did get an overstay stamp, which of course I completely ignored, but undoubtedly was entered into their computer.

New passport now, no stamp and IOs have never hassled me about it either.

I imagine if you accumulate several overstays they may get a bit snooty.

I think his master also dyes his hair; a weird shade of orange.

    Quite possibly????

In Aust we used to call him the 'Jaffa' ..!

A Jaffa is a sweet (candy) ball, orange on the outside and chocolate on the inside, and what colour is chocolate, same colour as sh*t.

Maybe they're both cut from the same block.?

The two can be compared. DM has a soul and Swampy does not. Just a sterile cement bunker full of duty free shops, most of which are now currently closed.

It's really just a matter of personal choice, afterall beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The new reno at DMK is nice, bright and sterile, you can scatter glitter all over a t*rd but you can't polish it.!

For me, first time at DM (1996) I thought it was a hole, certainly with no soul, but where are there nice/friendly airports.?

Look at what's out there, LHR (Heathrow) what a mess and their new T5 is just a giant box. CDG (Roissey) another mess, even with the camembert. LAX - JFK - DFW crass concrete commercialism. FRA (Frankfurt) a string of concrete boxes. KUL (Kuala Lumpur) a train to the international terminal or two concrete tunnels for the low cost terminal AMS (Amsterdam) what another mess and BKK (swampy) certainly sell sell sell.!

Perhaps SIN (Changi) and MEL (Tullermarine) are not as bad as most.

But really, these are just places to transit through, would any of us by choice go the any airport other than to fly in or out of somewhere or meet someone arriving.?

What are your thoughts, does anyone have a favourite airport, and/or what do you think is the worst and why.?
