Can you speak french / portuguese?

i've been to several west african countries, found ghana about the most civilised but would still never consider living there.

Well I can get by in French and Portuguese for survival purposes but many people speak English and these days there are many good translation apps. Why Ghana?

Yes I always keep bananas , mango, guava, apple etc in the fridge, the only fruit I keep out is oranges .

Keep fruit out of the fridge,  especially bananas but use a gauze trap cover. Vinegar will not deter fruit flies. Fruit flies produce vinegar from fermenting alcohol.

Hahaha, what a laugh, the Indians are truly moving in!!!!

theyl be taking over soon. 2-3-4-5 guys splitting bar fines, sharing drinks, curry stalls out front. Pattaya- little calcutta????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Charter flights, walking 6- abreast down the streets. They can't fill the bars now, another 39 bars- gogos. Pattaya is turning into a circus.

Indians have historically been big landowners and entrepreneurs in Thailand. They own much of sukhumvit and the Nana hotel and Nana plaza.. both places that did not used to allow Indians in!

The authorities are going to love this guy. They do everything they can to stamp out smut and he is going to stick a huge GoGo right in the middle of 2nd road, where every family tourist is going to be walking by.

They have NOT tried to stamp out what you call smut. Not at all. New Go Gos open all the time. There might be a plan to move go go bars and the entertainment scene away from Beach Rd and Walking St. This development therefore is in line with such plans as is the growth of the Soi Buakao area.

Thai kids, especially females are burdened with responsibilities from a very young age constantly helping out arouns the house and small businesses. Just because they have a happy care free attitude does not mean they do not carry burdens. It is because of filial duties and responsibilities that girls go to work in bars. The profile of the girls you describe I simply do not recognize.  I meet bright, hard working Thais, Male  and female, all of the time. I suspect certain foreign men unconsciously or otherwise end up in codependent relationships but usually it is the man infantalised in Thailand.

  6. This is not a Thai issue. She is deeply manipulative.  You and your kid must get away from her. But beware, feminist solicitors will support her and break you. She will survive in the UK without you. She'll have a Thai community based around a temple to give her support. If shes attractive shell get by. You are in danger of losing your money, mind and kid. Be careful.

I did try Robin Hood's fish and chips earlier this year and for me it was only OK. I don't eat that dish very often because I try to limit fried foods so when I do I want it to be really exceptional. I don't know of any current local place where I would feel that way, which is probably good news for my health.

The best fish and chips or even better, scallops and chips is from the small stall next to chow mein charlies on LKM at the SB entrance.

  8. Finally went to that cheap steak place on third rd. I must have passed it and similar places on 3rd Rd 100s of times.  We went latish, about 1am and they had no beef steaks left but the pork steaks and salmon steak were good at around 50 to 80 baht and they came with salad and chips. We also had pasta. The Thai whiskey and beers were as cheap as one would expect and service was friendly and efficient.  A nice location right next to a dodgy neon lit Karoke bar..so some nice back ground music and street theatre. I litterally saw a brown envelope being handed over! Worth a visit if you're in the area. You can bring your own drinks in

What a total douchebag. Appearently he have no clue about that that he is dancing to music played at a burial ceremony, or he is just one of those despicable persons that just do not care about his behaviour.

When I see this bad behaviour and disrespect to Thai culture, tradition and people I truly feel ashamed being a person of the caucasian race.

Dancing to Thai music is not disrespectful.  Its the opposite. Thais love it when you join in with their music. You are falling into the PC view of being offended on somebody else's behalf.

Sure and agreed.  But I view the thai elite visa as a bribe and while i could swallow my bride and just pay.  It still puts you on the hook for tm30 and 90 reports.  So with that in mind for people that live in thailand, does the 90 day reports just become habit or do you hate/regret entertaining this concept?

The 90 day report is a breeze. Simply not an issue. Its just a few minutes 3 or 4 times a year
