Past history is normally irrelevant, as long as it is not "negative past history", such as overstay, blacklisting or deportation.

Yes and be aware that you have easy options to extend your stay.
With each visa exempt entry you can obtain a 30 day extension and also a 60 day extension to visit wife.
Thank you DrJack 54

Hello. An Australian working in a third country who's had a few Non-Immi O based on marriage issued over the past several years. Last issue 4 years or so ago. Question please: For a short holiday in the kingdom, will I be granted a 45 day visa exemption on arrival anymore or must I always go the Non-O now? Thanks and regards

UbonJoe and DrJack54,
Noted that, thank you. I didn't know about the 12 month extension actually. I'll research it. I'm grateful to be able to draw on your knowledge. You're right, very uncertain times.
Regards.

Hi all,
My 90 day Non-Immigrant O based on Marriage expired May 18 and I'm currently under the amnesty umbrella until July 31st.
I'm assuming we should hear something soon.
Assuming that there'll be no further amnesty period, is it right that I can just apply for a 60 day extension before July 31st?
Thanks and regards,
Gary

Against all better judgement re returning to Aus (for however long that's possible either end, noting on the Scoot website a resumption of departures from April 6 or so), I'd feel a lot better if I could find a little insurance for this cv19. I don't have a base there at present but do have medical coverage at least.
I've looked high and low in the kingdom, only having planned on being here 15 days in Jan/Feb, but now unable to get back to the CN capital for resumption of work. With wife in north central a bit, on a 90 day through until mid May.
Anyone else been able to source a little insurance for peace of mind at least? I know many only offer 100k thb for cv19 treatment, still, it's better than nothing. Seems you must be here for 6 months or hold a work permit to qualify. Regards and take care

Personally I'm planning to extend a 90 day permission to stay based on marriage (before it expires in May) at KK, by another 60 days. I'm hoping that will still be possible. Regards
(Apologies for distracting from Welshpete's original thread)

Firstly I apologise as I know this is probably repetative and boring, however I can't find anything about my situation within the forums.
It seems that simply being in the kingdom on a 90 day permission to stay - based on marriage doesn't allow the buying of a policy for some cv19 coverage (I do know these are pretty modest benefits anyway of 100k). Wife has helped me look, amongst others - tipinsure, to no avail
Although I don't expect to find any coverage now, I just thought I might throw the net out a bit wider onto the forum to hear from anyone who hasn't been a work permit / >6 months resident and who might have been able to purchase some coverage.
I can't get back to China yet where I work. (I know). So I'm just trying to make best decisions with this bloody thing, as we all are now, I know.
I've ordered a good book.
Take care all, please. And thanks for any advice you might be able to share.
Regards,
Gary

Can I just send a quick thanks to you all for taking the time with this. I'm always a keen learner on Tv. Rgds

Dear TV brains trust much greater than I,
I married my Thai wife last December, and subsequently entered the kingdom from Savannakhet on a single entry O based on marriage for 90 days.
My question is (and I've not been able to find anything similar here in the forum): I now work permanently (and perhaps on an ongoing basis) in the Chinese capital and have done for six months.
I have no real need practically speaking to visit other than a short holiday now.
Once having entered the kingdom on an O based on marriage (per above) early January this year, can I enter a little further down the track on a 30 Visa exemption next January for a holiday with my wife? (I'm Australian)
Thank you and regards

BritTim, have understood that with thanks and a safe and happy end of year to you and ubonjoe, best wishes, Gary

I'll need a multiple to do it, got it, thank you again.

with reference to your example above UJ, ... if I was out of the kingdom for a period exceeding the original 90 days 'admitted until' date that was granted, upon re-entry, with a re-entry permit, would another 90 days 'admitted until' start anew?
There's a lot for me to learn here before I do this, thank you for your help and patience mate
-
Ah ok, I've got it now ubonjoe thank you!
-
Understood with thanks ubonjoe,
Upon re-entry, you would get another 90, within the confines of the same permit to stay date you had when you left the country.
If I was granted a single entry O based on marriage and needed to leave (just the once) for work outside the kingdom, I would need a Re-Entry Permit, then upon re-entry, be issued another 90 days within the confines of the originally issued permit to stay date.
Merry Christmas to you ubonjoe and thank you

Dear TV brainstrust,
I've not been able to find an answer to this on the forum so though I would ask please. If needing to leave the Kingdom whilst on an O visa (marriage) using a Re-Entry Permit, how is the original validity of the O visa affected? Do the 12 months as originally issued (in 90 day amounts of course) keep ticking away whilst outside Thailand?
Thanks and regards, GaryA

Thanks ubonjoe, I appreciate drawing upon your knowledge. If it assists, I can contribute a short trip report here when done. Regards

Dear all,
Humble new forum member here, taking onboard a quote from a long standing member I read previously in this thread - that I too would like to use the thread/forum to learn and stay on the right side on Thai law.
Have proposed to Thai gf of two years and anticipate an exit to Savannakhet within a few weeks, to apply for an O visa based on marriage.
Can I seek advice from those who may have crossed more recently please, whether old reports of the Thai consulate in Savannakhet not requesting proof of funds for a single O visa application might still stand please?
Thank you
