Hard to beat this lowlife.
Decades ago in Australia, a news item a 12 yr old boy died of massive blood loss when his drugged father penetrated the boys anus and broke the internal skin which caused massive bleeding.
Investigation revealed the anal penetration / intercourse with the boy had happened several times before when the father was high, with minor blood loss.
Also revealed that the mother (always drugged) always performed oral sex on her 12 yr old son whilst the father penetrated the boy. And the boy also drugged by his parents.
Both parents jailed for something like 30 years.
The only somewhat positive point was that they had no other children.

Reread it. They said they would be happy to pay. Management are being typical in turning this down because it is the easy option and they will not lose face. If they entertain the topic and thus show their ignorance in not understating correctly, they will lose face which as we all know is very important here. I would get a Thai to negotiate with them on your behalf and offer to pay for the socket and for the electric. If they will not budge, sell up and tell them to go and do one (in a polite manner). More condos here will need to conform as this is the way the world is going.
Not an answer however let me share; there was a senior cop owner / resident in my old condo in Bkk, very pleasant balanced guy spoke advanced English. Always asked good questions / made valuable comments at annual / extraordinary owners meetings.
One additional attribute of the sne cop, if there was a specific discussion and the chair person tried to jump to the next agenda item / another subject the snr. cop would stand up and say 'wait, the discussion right now has not been completed, I suggest the chair person ask for suggestions and then take a vote'.
I can just imagine the snr. cop now if there was a discussion about EV chargers, he would insist (alway calmly), there is no decision the meeting cannot move on until there is some voted resolution.
This guy bought his condo second hand, he attended owners meetings immediately. First meeting he attended there was a mention of the continuing lack of repairs to the pool. Snr. cop asked for a summary of the situation from the of the paid condo manager. She tried to abruptly change the subject. Snr. cop responded with 'who would like a summary of the situation', then 'do you have any handout on the progress of getting repairs', then 'don't cut off my discussion point, owners are entitled to ask questions and get complete answers.
A snr. bank employee (new owner) then said 'Can I propose we take a 1 hr recess and I will pay for coffee and snacks, then the condo manager give an up to date summary re the pool'.
Bank manager also said to the condo manager, 'please task one of your staff to take names of owners and their tel. no's and tell the employee must call each number when the meeting is ready to continue'. Paid manager responded with abuse and 'don't tell me what to do'. Many owners pushed the paid manager to do as suggested by the bank guy.
One hr later meeting restarts, paid manager says she needs 30 days to make a report re pool repairs.
Instant response from 90% of owners 'No, now'. (Pool had not been functional for 2.5 years.)
Snr cop suggested that a vote be taken to remove the pool repairs from the paid managers responsibilities and an owner (if willing) be appointed to manage the pool repairs.
Vote taken, all agreed. Then a Thai engineer (unit owner) spoke and explained his qualifications and experience and offered to be the pool repairs project manager. Vote taken all in attendance agreed.
The crunch: The new pool project manager asked for the file re reports / quotations for repairs. Turned out the manager had not kept any file.
Next: a vote whether condo paid manager be dismissed. She left the building 1 hr later, not allowed to remove any documents.

And/or regularly brings from abroad large supplies of basic foodstuffs all available at many outlets in LOS. Often same bad or equivalent quality local manufacture.
Seen this many times. Recall one farang wife who brought massive supplies of very size of ziplock bags from the US. And a Brit guy who brought suitcases of meat pies in cans from the UK.

Yes but overall total charges icl. flight not that bad. I've flown VietJet many times from CM and from Swampy to both Hanoi and to Ho Chi Minh.
Check-in/ boarding never experienced any issues whatever, food ordered was great, cabin staff very obliging, always polite and courteous and they speak advanced English. Several times on arrival a VietJet ground staff approached just after leaving the aircraft and politely asked if I needed any help re visa or whatever. I didn't, all done in advance.
One trip to Ho CHi Minh I did passport quickly, bag already on the carousel and I changed some money. I went outside and ran into one of the polite / focused Vietjet male cabin crew from my flight.
He asked If he could help in any way, I responded 'I'm looking for a driver with my name on a board to take me to my hotel'. He asked for name of my hotel and wrote in on the back of my boarding pass, then he headed, with me following for a microphone to make a public announcement and a minute later driver appeared through the crowd.
Vietjet boy ensured I and my luggage safely in the car, I thanked him and we said bye bye.
Nice experience.

This ("elected") may be inexact and/or misleading.
"Over 210,000 Thais have applied to fill 200 Senate seats: EC", March 3, 2024 https://www.nationthailand.com
The Senate has 250 members of which only 200 will be available for "replacement." Who are the 50 "untouchables?" Former junta members or junta appointees?
Replacement will be done by a "selection process," not an entire public election process per se.
- "Eligible candidates will enter the self-selection process within 20 categories wherein a candidate can only qualify for one category" as per EC oversight.
- "Once representatives are chosen at the district level, they will proceed to self-select at the provincial level."
- From the provincial level the selected candidates will go through a self-selection process at the national level.
- Then the top scoring 10 candidates from each of 20 categories will be appointed as Senators.
Do any of these "self-selection" processes look like a democratic election process by the Thai electorate at large?
NO.

Candidacy registration: voluntary or as directed by military folks?
And according to the methods (post just above) there is no election
therefor the Thai public not having a right / a chance to select the senators.

Seems, they are believing their own propaganda and fantasy numbers... "We want 80 million tourists", and each one should pay 300 (or why not 3,000?) baht.
But hang on, what happened to the long long twisted discussions about all visitors paying a health cover tax to compensate hospitals for unpaid bills. Never happened.
So will this new tax go the same way? Probably.
Get some clever capable people into ministerial positions (not drug jailbirds) along with clever focused ethical ministry staff.

There are really good schools in MY.
Any so-called International school in Thailand (Bangkok according to my experience) is just a rich kids social club. For example KIS >>> there no Toyotas at parking lot. Figures...
Bright kids at Thai Universities (not MBA, Design or Arts or such, real science) don't come from posh venues like Regent, Berkley and similar.
IMO kids should stay with their parents at least until 18. Heard so many sad stories about kids sent to "foreign land" alone. Even to AU.
Should avoid UK - too much of "freedom".
Another option to get ironclad education is SG, but financially is quite heavy.Agree re Singapore (sg). The big plus is proximity, kids can come home to Thailand / parents can visit kids frequently.
Many years back my Thai son completed his last several years of high school in SG and loved it, and the educational outcome was totally excellent.
In those days you could do a deal with AirAsia; guarantee that the child would do x number of return trips within a 12 month period and pay 50% of the cost upfront. Got a very big discount. AirAsia even had a service to pick up kids from their homestay or whatever to take them to the airport.
Some small downside with Thai hi-so kids misbehaving themselves and being arrogant / rude to teachers and other students, especially to other Thai students who didn't 'qualify' as hi-so / rich kids. During the time my son was there several of these hi-so kids were instantly dismissed because of a specific negative event* and deported and passports marked 'cannot enter SG for 10 years'. (*One event: several Thai hi-so boys made a big pile of Teak beach furniture and set fire to it.)

Yes, think you’re right , better to try the international school in Bangkok first to see how they manage. Just imagine taking them abroad only to find out they are a bit disadvantaged ? The whole procedure would be a mess and not a good experience for the kids.
Sure but doa lot of research about th teaching quality / teaching outcomes before deciding what school.
Some I'national schools in BKK are quite good, others make big claims but the teaching / outcomes is pretty poor.

In reality how would 'tallest building' attract big numbers of tourists?

Interestingly Vietnam vets were treated very much the same be them regular or conscripts.
The VN situation was complex. I got conscripted, served in VN.
Back home there was nothing available to get re-employed / resume education.
Tried to join a national ex-servicemens organization, the lady laughed and said 'you cannot join, we don't have a box on our member application form for VN vets because it wasn't a real war', and she pointed to the door.
Further the day we returned to home (a group of twenty vets) we arrived at the army HQ office for our state at 3:00 am in the morning and got abused by the civilian clerical workers because they had to come to work early in the morning (3:00 am) to process our discharge paper.

On the contrary.
Years ago it was quick and easy with little bureaucracy.
I translated my passport into Thai using Google Translate and that along with my passport was sufficient. I verbally gave them the name of my parents, which they translated.
There were 'certification' or 'legalisation' procedures then.Nowadays, you need to have copies of documents 'certified' by your Embassy (appointment only), then have those translated into Thai, before taking them to the MFA for legalisation (appointment only). For many, this involves a journey to Bangkok, and one/two nights stay depending on availability of appointments.
Perhaps depends on the location.
I took all my documents to the main Amphur office for Chiang Mai city including the dark blue tabien baan (TB) book (dark blue TB used for PR holders. My Thai ID number was issued 27 years ago along with the issue of the original dark blue Certificate of Residence book and my name and Thai ID number entered into the old style TB sheets at the same time.) Later, the TB sheets were retired and the TB books started.
The amphur staff at Chiang Mai took my name details (and the ID number) from my TB book to generate the pink ID card.

I have a very good friend who's has had PR for 20+ years, currently working in Lao.
Each year he confirms his address at the local Immigration office, although this may no longer be enforced, it's just habit for him, but every 10 years he has to replace his 'red' book.
Different courses for different horses?
Does he 'confirm his address...'or does he get a new exit / re-entry permit every year? (new exit / re-entry stamp is not an annual official requirement but most PR holders who travel abroad frequently get a multiple entry exit / re-entry permit every year.
By the way the Thai police is the agency which keeps records of where PR holders are living through the RED police registration book which must be updated every 5 years 9updated means new photo and if needed update the residential address of the PR holder.
As said records of address are done through the RED police book, a police activity / responsibility.
Records of residential address / changes of residential address is also handled using the Tabien Baan book process which is handled by / the responsibility of the Amphur office system (administered by the Interior Ministry.

The multiple entry exit / re-entry stamp has a life of one year then it lapses. Bu there is no regulation to say it must be immediately renewed. Renewal is at the discretion of the PR holder.
By the way the Thai police is one agency which keeps records of where PR holders are living, through the RED police registration book which must be updated every 5 years (updated means new photo and if needed update the residential address of the PR holder). This is separate to the immigration bureau records. The RED police book is NOT an official record of holding PR.
Records of residential address / changes of residential address is also handled using the Tabien Baan book process which is handled by / the responsibility of the Amphur office system (administered by the Interior Ministry). The Tabien Baan book or it's ultimate database is NOT intended to be an official record of who holds PR.
More comments added at end of my paragraph 1 above:
As said many business people who travel abroad frequently get a multiple entry exit /re-entry stamp every year. But there is no requirement that the start date on the new stamp aligns to anything.
Can be done on the day the old 1 year stamp expires, can be 1 week later, can be 6 months later. Or the PR holder may decide that because of changed personal circumstances to wait until he/she has an actual travel date (to go abroad), then apply for a single entry exit / re-enter stamp.
In this case there is no requirement to officially advice the immigration Bureau that anything has changed. And it's a confirmation that the PR holder needs to get an Exit / re-entry stamp as needed.
And a further point, I confirm an earlier comment that the exit / re-entry stamp is NOT required for domestic travel.
