Thanks 🙏. I understand that a passport should have at least 6 months left. My plan is to get my retirement Visa extension stamp on posted on my old passport and apply for renewal six months before passport expiration date, which is around September 2024. .

True passports are not free. But good for 10 years. However I don't want to wait till I get close to the expiration date. I prefer to start my passport renewal process at least 6 months before expiration date. Then my new passport is good for 9.5 Years.

You pay the agent twice. However in my case I have been doing it myself since 2019. Just 1900 immigration office fee, plus photo copies. Besides I am only loosing a little over 40 days by not getting the entire one year retirement Visa extension stamp.

I wish I got more responses such as yours. A senior member responded saying that I could get a new visa extension stamp on my old passport expiring the same date as the passport. However he says that when I get a renewed USA passport I have to start the entire retirement Visa extension process from scratch. He didn't mention anything about transferring the valid visa from the old passport to the new one. More than 75% of members suggest renewal of the passport vs getting a retirement Visa extension stamp expiring the same date as the passport itself.

True. The Bangkok Thailand USA embassy office says 4 to 8 weeks. If I take into consideration the worse case scenario I could loose everything ( ability to renew retirement Visa extension every year) and stuck in Chiang Mai on an expired visa. If I don't get a renewed USA passport back from the Bangkok Thailand USA embassy office in time to get a new retirement Visa extension stamp in April 16 2024. However if I have the previlege of getting a less than a year retirement Visa extension stamp on my passport, I would say that it is a far better option. Because the only worse case scenario I won't have to face would be living in Chiang Mai without a valid passport but a valid visa . Once I mail the passport my clock starts counting down 110 days, before I can get a new visa extension stamp. But when I mail my passport after I get that retirement Visa extension stamp posted on it good through March 6 2025, I have 300 plus days to count down. A better option. Subject to the fact that a one year validity on the passport is not mandatory to get a one year retirement Visa extension stamp. Thanks 🙏

Based on your response I will get those 11 months retirement Visa extension stamp on my current passport and work on getting the renewal process of my USA passport after I get that retirement Visa extension stamp posted in 2024.

So I think that I will settle for a new retirement Visa extension stamp good through March 2025. My current retirement Visa extension stamp expires in April 16 2024. I loose less than a month. USA passport expires on March 6 th 2025. When I get that retirement Visa extension stamp on my passport good through March 6 th 2025, I will have several months time left to stay in Chiang Mai legally and at the same time have a passport renewal processed from the Bangkok Thailand USA embassy office. With only a little over three months left on my Thai retirement Visa extension stamp April 16 th 2024, I don't want to take any chances with the Bangkok Thailand USA embassy office. They could hold off on the renewal process on some technicality such as the photo paper used to print the passport photos. Besides I need to worry about the passport being delivered late, not lost because of the advanced tracking features now in place.

I am sorry I might have posted wrong years. Current retirement Visa extension stamp expires April 2024. USA passport expires march 6 2025. May I please ask you if I can get another retirement Visa extension stamp from April 16 2024 through March 6th 2025. Because my passport USA expires on march 6 th 2025

I don't know how to thank you. Because it takes 4 to 8 weeks to get a renewal processed. You are right about immediately. In USA they are very picky about the photo paper used to print the photos. There is a photo copy office behind Chiang Mai immigration office, can I get my USA passport photos 2×2 inch size printed by them. Last question, I read on this forum posts from last year that the immigration office will match the validity of the retirement Visa extension with the expiration date on the passport. Thanks 🙏

My passport (USA) expires in march 2024. Right now I have a retirement Visa extension stamp expires on April 16 2024. When I try to apply for an extension of retirement Visa for one year in April 2024 I will have an issue with my passport because it expires in march 2024. However a one year retirement Visa extension from April 2024 is through April 2025. My question is should I apply for a new passport from the Bangkok Thailand USA embassy now in January 2024 so that I will get a new USA passport good for another 10 years. Thank you very much 🙏

This is not a response to any comments made here but a follow up observation I noticed today. I forgot to mention that I am referring to only Chiang Mai immigration office because that is the place I only go to. Don't have any information about the other immigration offices. Here it is. Yesterday when I checked the app website my overstay status was normal and an expiration date of April 16th 2022. Today I was there and got the extension. A few hours later I checked the app and the overstay status was normal with an expiration date of April 16th 2023. Very efficient immigration office. Also their reservation system to set an appointment time works plus a breeze to make one. Now we have two ways of 90 day reporting methods. Remember the app method never updated the extension and kept saying overstay. Not anymore. I am providing screenshots of both the reporting methods. Thank you very much for allowing me to share my observations.

If you are using a new smartphone or computer to login with a password, the bank of America server will not allow it to pass. They ask you to first " remember my device " establish your device. To do this step they might send you an email to your email account on file. Next they may ask you your challenge questions. If you satisfy these they will log you in and ask you if you want the server to remember the device. If you agree they leave cookies behind in your device so that next time you login you are good to go. After 3 failed attempts using the wrong password the server permanently locks you out from online banking until you call them on phone to verify your identity.

All the Queen's children went to boarding school so that they can learn what rules are and how to follow them without any temper tantrums ( drama). Good question. It was my retirement visa expiration date. In your case if you entered everything right then it is probably your address. Keep trying to apply as many times as you can every time they reject. Each time try to tweak the address a little bit. My address was 1. Apartment name. 2. Just the number, nothing else. 3. Street name. 4,5, etc are self populated based on your input. Finally your postal code. Keep a record of each rejected entry and tweak it as you re apply. What have you got to lose, stay home and keep them busy until they get their information the way they wanted to be. Custom made like the way a steak is ordered. Trust me eventually you will be accepted. Just don't miss the 14 days window. Good luck my friend.

I was rejected twice before I got approved. It was my mistake entering the dates. I entered April 17 instead of April 16. They won't tell why they reject.

Thank you everyone. My reporting was due on December 20 but when applied on December 5 they acknowledged and approved on Friday December 17. Also worth mentioning is on the same day as mine Friday December 17 I saw at least five or more postings on Chiang Mai expats Facebook page confirming Chiang Mai immigration office approving their 90 days reporting. Looks like effective Friday December 17 Chiang Mai immigration office cleared all their back log requests and currently approving them in less than 24 hours. Yes, Sir ubonjoe they are acknowledging applications before 2 weeks to reporting date. Because they did mine. Finally per Dr jack 54, yes my application was denied for overstay reasons in the old reporting system app downloaded from Google play website. Also as you all know that the old system only worked once for the first time and started saying overstay on subsequent requests even though when we made one in person reporting after getting a renewal of the Visa. To summarize I would say that to those who live hundreds of kilometers away from their immigration office such as Chiang Mai immigration office the new online reporting is a blessing. To those living in the Chiang Mai city no biggie.

Maybe I might be wrong and there might be more from Chiang Mai immigration office that got successfully approved. Anyhow I wanted to share this news and tell those from Chiang Mai immigration office that Chiang Mai immigration office is participating in online application approvals. My email notification had a PDF attachment that I could save on a USB drive and print it in a copy center store. My previous online reporting app from Google play worked for one year of reporting and when I got a new extension of one more year I started getting overstay warning when I tried to do the reporting. Sometimes when you copy and paste password there might be some blank spaces after the password mistakenly copied so while your password is in the view mode put the cursor at the end of the password and try to backspace to clear any spaces after the password. It will be worth a while to check for blank spaces before the password too while you are there. Good luck

I read some where long long time ago that they are abondoning the arrival cards and card numbers usage permanently. Cause they are running out of warehouse space to store them
