  1. I am curious as to what makes you conclude that any information from an embassy or consulate is absolutely meaningless. When I ask a precise and specific question and the consulate answers precisely and specifically I should automatically conclude that what they say is meaningless?

For those of us looking for an answer to this non imm o-a issued prior to October 31 and traveling on or after that date, where would you suggest we go for answers?

In that I was very concerned about that question which affects me specifically, I went to the place where I bought my visa and they emailed me back a precise answer.

I will be bringing a copy of that email with me, but again, what do you suggest as a better solution?

Hope so as my wife is due to come and go on her prior to 31/10 O-A visa and it seems ridiculous that she would need health insurance for bi monthly stays, hopefully the visa issued in london in August will be respected as multiple entry during its one year duration....I personally feel that anyone with an OA will be allowed entry as a) they were issued prior to health insurance requirement and b) issued post requirement ,when they wouid have not been issued without it.

  2. I’m worried , as I mentioned earlier in a thread, I entered on my OA issued in london in August,I was chopped in for a year as usual, I intend going away for Xmas out if Thailand and returning in early Jan.....will I be asked for insurance, who knows and what happens if they ask me at entry point for insurance ?......I guess they wouid give me a VE worse case scenario ...but what a waste of time getting the OA in August., I might as well have got a Non O and gone traditional route...jeez!

  4. Not incorrect. You may have a way better than average insurance, but just have a look on Google.
    Example:
"Credit card travel insurance policies typically only cover trips of up to a certain length (e.g. 31 days or 3 months), so check your PDS before assuming your trip would be covered." from here.

I have 186 days in my travel insurance ,one continuous stay of that length or 45 days each trip.....lloyds UK

  5. I think that Ubonjoe is right to discourage speculation that the insurance requirement will apply to anyone other than an O-A Visa holder who enters after October 31st.  Extending the requirement to others would have a lot of negative repercussions that I'm sure the authorities are aware of.  There are a lot of issues to take into account, not the least of which would be what would happen to those of us who are too old to buy any of the insurance policies on offer.  Also, there might be legal recourse available to families who are deprived of their providers. The government needs to think out carefully the implications of a blanket insurance requirement for everyone over fifty.

I arrived today on an O-A issued in london end August .....he chopped me in at immigration ,lucky I checked my entry stamp cos he had inadvertently put 11 November 2019(ie one month stay )....I went back luckily pointed it out and he chopped me with a year till Oct 2020......no mention of insurance at all!

  7. I submitted an o-a online application last week successfully after weeks of attempts here in london as i use an iPad and it would let me input certain things...or kept giving no choices to select...nightmare but eventually between an iPad and a mates computer it went through ...a tip for compressing photos is download the compress app from Apple apps and then edit normally on your photo .....I have an apt as I live in london when in uk but a mate in LOS has just told me as from 22 August O-A will need a health insurance!
