The start of the new hysteria created by the Thai government to scare the sh*t out of their folks once more to be able to control them as they like..... And they will fall for it again.

more pressing than watching a country of 45 million being systematically destroyed, thousands of people killed and over 5 million refugees...

The Ukrainian visitors are the ones trapped here because all airports are closed or destroyed in the Ukraine. The Russians are not stranded at all, flights are operating and the airspace is open. This would also have been a more appropriate article with you using a photograph of Ukrainians holding their flag and signs with no war.

Well I know where I am going to have my next <deleted> when i read this <deleted>.... "Krabi International Airport, which has been certified for toilet cleanliness"

Only? Shouldn't the headline read already? Double vaccinated and an Rt-pcr test just before departure.

You seem to forget that there are plenty of scumbags around the world that have so far not been arrested for anything and therefore don't have a criminal record.
You can't vet everyone who arrives in Thailand, dangerous criminals don't generally have the fact tattooed on their foreheads.
Great idea!!! Rapist and other dangerous criminals SHOULD have it tattooed on their foreheads for all to see.

"We did everything to block it, and it still gets through," Yong Poovorawan, a government expert and virologist at Chulalongkorn University, told a health ministry briefing.
Hahaha... more than 3000 people went to the Cafe del Mar and Illusion parties on Phuket 5 days ago and the first cases are now found. 3000+ partying in confined spaces doesn't sound to me as if they did everything to block it...
Watch this space...

It has been claimed that some people drive too slow, which is unsafe.
Now we know why over 20.000 people get killed on Thailand's roads every year. Because they drive too slow so Increase the speed limit by 30% from 90kmh to 120kmh and in doing so, save lives.
Well done Thailand and thank you for making the roads safer for us.

What about Christmas / New Year? The "safer driving" campaign target there failed miserably with more deaths than last year! I saw various checkpoints in Phuket and always about 10 policemen sitting in a tent but no stopping and checking for alcohol or speeding, just sitting there doing nothing. I even saw a few times in Kamala how youngsters were road racing on motorbikes past them doing around 100kmh.. they didn't give a <deleted>! Presence alone without action brings NO RESULTS when will they learn this?

Well that's been the best laugh I've had today so far ????????????

Strangely no mention of the compulsory 100k USD Covid medical coverage. I think the going price now is around 30.000 THB. That should really put the remaining nails in the coffin of this idea.... 14 days quarantine plus insurance let's say about 70.000 THB on top of normal holiday expenses. WOW, what a bargain!!

Can you get the 20 year SE for 1 mill if you are a new member?
I have 2 friends thats currently on the 5 year elite visa for 500K, and they both have plans to renew it.
I asked why didnt you get the SE 20 year one for 1 mil? They claim its not possible do get one from scratch, it can only be obtained after you have done a 5 year EA membership? I disagree. Which is it?
As far as I can recollect the 20 year costs 2 Million Baht PLUS VAT for some strange reason. The 10 year is or was 1 million Baht.

Thanks Mike, very informative!
I'm slowly getting too old for wake-boarding and the price of golf has always put me off in Europe (I lived in Germany and Spain). I don't have a handicap yet although I have had a few lessons and know how to behave on a golf course. Do I need a handicap to play on any of the Phuket courses as I arrive back next week after my delightful quarantine in Bangkok...

I don't think he is in a position or qualified to "DEMAND" anything. Just let people in from France, Spain, USA, the UK, Italy without quarantine and see what happens...

Expert, expert expert....
This is what a 'real' expert says:
Prof Carl Heneghan, the head of the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine at Oxford University, says the current situation is "utter chaos" with a constant stream of new restrictions and schools sending whole year groups home when just one person tests positive. All this at a time when the level of infection is still very low.
This, Prof Heneghan says, is the consequence of trying to suppress the virus. Instead, he argues we should accept it is here to stay and try to minimise the risks, while balancing that against the consequences of the actions we take.
In particular, he's concerned the Covid test is actually so sensitive it's picking up what is effectively dead virus as it spots traces of it months after the person has stopped being infectious.
"We need to slow down our thinking. But every time the government sees a rise in cases it seems to panic," he said.- 3

No mention of the CV-19 insurance policy everyone will need to cover costs up to 100.000 USD... Just to make it a little bit more ridiculous...

9 hours ago, Oldie said:"He said that tourists under this model must be from the countries where there has been no outbreak for at least 30 days."
I am confused because tourists from Australia and New Zealand will be allowed in the middle of September already. On Aug 29th this source at the following link writes the following below. So there are still cases in both countries.
https://www.aa.com.tr/en/asia-pacific/australia-new-zealand-report-new-covid-19-cases/1956809
Cases in Australia rose to 25,570 with 112 infections reported in the past 24 hours, according to health officials.
New Zealand reported 13 cases in the past 24 hours, raising the overall count to 1,727, including 22 deaths and 1,568 recoveries.
not to forget that Australians ARE NOT PERMITTED to leave the country. What a stupid article yet again!

It's like building a ski resort on a mountain in Thailand... no snow so it doesn't work. No flights so how should this work? Just about as crazy sorry to say... (yes I would pay for 2 weeks in a nice hotel in Phuket to get back there. I would stay for at least 3 months as I have a house and a life there but this is not realistic. Wish it was...)

As Winston Churchill once said, never trust statistics you haven doctored yourself! I agree, Thailand has done very, very well. But... how many people are being tested there in comparison to other countries? You can't just go anywhere and get a CV-19 test for free... it costs THB 5000 so who does it? Free tests are only for very sick and very old people so hardly representative.

So he must be in quarantine if he returned from outside of Thailand.... Or do these rules only apply to 'normal' people and not the super rich? Ahhh of course.... he is not a dirty Farang who will spread CV-19 amongst the Thai people.

Simple solution ... fire him! He wanted to kick foreigners out for not wearing masks so he should take his own medicine! I doubt very much there is a country that would take him but I think Siberia is a nice place...

125,724 is the correct number.
New seat belt rules to apply from September
in Thailand News
Posted
Not enforceable as 99% of cars have such dark windows that it's impossible to look inside to see if someone is wearing a belt. What a waste of effort. Why not make it illegal to carry passengers in the back of a truck or on the bed of a pick up? That would be enforceable and would make so much more sense. But saying that... sorry I forgot, we are in Thailand...
