hi, in the next few months I'm gonna move in a condo owned by my daughter, half Thai.
I've been told by the volunteers of Phuket immigration that when I go to file the new TM30, I need to provide also a rental contract, which is ridiculous since I'm gonna stay there for free and she's family. Anybody here had a similar experience?
Thanks

since I'm not planning to travel abroad, i believe 11 months IO 12 are acceptable...

No big advantage, but as I stated in my post, my friend has difficulties in reading English, so I thought I could do that for him and he had just to print that out...What possible advantage to it if you have to print it out? May as well get it on the plane.Sent from my CPH1823 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Hi all, I've just tried this app to help out a friend that cannot read English, filled up accurately all the required fields but when I click on next at the bottom, it's giving me this error, the number is correct and I also tried to eliminate the first 2 letters leaving only the number, it did not work.
I've attached the screenshot.
Any advice or experience to share?

I agree with you, but we use our brain, a mother uses her heart...So he spent all his money, is slumming off a friend, and wants mom to come to the rescue and spend money she doesn't have. Leave his sorry azz there and let him figure it out. May be a good lesson of life for him that there are no free rides. Otherwise, he will continue doing this his whole life.

The OP is most certainly from one of those south American countries who benefits from the 90 days entry (bilateral agreement) therefore it is not clear how much cash they have to carry, likely 20k baht (or equivalent in FC).10,000 for VE entry.
20,000 for TV entry.

Exactly. You have to print it out anyway so I don't see any point to it. If they do it properly (e.g. fill in details > produce barcode/QR code/whatever > scan at passport control) then I might install it again.

Yes, both my kasikorn and multiple SCB accounts have been taxed as in your case. My wife's no.
I asked other several friends and all confirmed this withholding tax for the first time since they opened the account.

My guess is that depends in which province you are, I'm in Phuket and it took 3 days.Hi, I have registered with the app and my email address has been confirmed. Now I have been informed that they will send me a password and user name. I am still waiting, any idea how long it takes to receive them and what do I do if the information is not sent?

FYI
I am not the owner of the house where I live, i downloaded the app "section 38" and I registered my self as a "tenant" (under position field I chose "etc." and right after appeared a new field where I wrote "tenant").
I attached a copy of the tabian Baan, a copy of my passport (details page) and the power of attorney.
I received immediately the email for the email address confirmation. The next day the email with user and password.
Now I can register my self and any relative or friend will come to visit..

That's why I was confused about it...
Thanks, a further confirmation that my friend told me the truth...i know a few people that have used the drive thru window in Phuket for reporting their address on returning from overseas.
as long as ur address is the same, only hand them ur passport
Thanks a lot... really a good news...I’ve done it twice already. Provided you use the same address, you just give your passport in the Drive Thru window and you’re done in 20 seconds flat.

Last november, after a trip outside thailand, I went to the immigration office in Phuket town with all the paperwork i mentioned in my previous post, within the 24 hours after my return. One high rank official was handling my papers and so i took the opportunity to ask him if it was really necessary re-report the very same address also when one is going in another province and back... he said verbatim: "can you read the instruction at my back? Take your time to read it" ... I replied: "According with what I am reading there, the answer is yes, one should report upon return" so he said... "then I have nothing else to add" and he bye bye me...

Your just reporting your return to same address? Patong didn’t,t require anything so long same address. What you mention is initial notification!
Yes, same address but in Phuket town. Are you saying that at the Patong branch you walk in with no paperwork but your passport and receipt and that's it?
-
Because normally, at least until November (the last time I've updated it), I had to provide copies of my passport, contract, ID and tsbian Baan of the owner and a power of attorney, that's why...Why wouldn’t it be

Hi guys,
A friend of mine is claiming that the update of the address registration, when one leave the country or the province and returns, is feasible using the Drive Thru service and without any paperwork, one should present just the passport with the old address registration receipt and in few minutes one's free to go.
I find that difficult to believe, but he insisted that is true and he did it himself yesterday.
Anyone can confirm it?
Thanks for your help.

I'm here on a year extension based on marriage. One month ago, before applying for a new extension, my wife went to the amphur fo the usual koror 2 and she has been told the same: soon the health insurance will be among the requirements. Obviously we should wait and see... but apparently the option is really on the table. I have one for every member of my family and I honestly believe it is necessary in this country, but I'm aware that many will have some hard time to get one, some for money matters and some for pre-existing medical conditions... I have a friend who has been refused by Aetna just because he suffers of hypertension, a bit excessive... don't you think? Furthermore the older you get the more difficult it is find one which accepts you here in Thailand...My agent also said mandatory insurance is coming soon. They’ve never steered my wrong so I have no reason not to believe them.
I’m leaving hopefully by the end of this year plus I’m already insured so I’m not concerned either way.
There’s going to be a whole lot of disappointment foreigners when that happens along with the other visa changes that are inevitably coming. Thailand wants wealthy foreigners. If that’s not you, you’re going to be screwed.
Bookmark this so we can all revisit and I can say I told you so.

In Phuket they have been requiring it for at least 4 years now. Every time my daughter come visiting us she must pose for few pics [emoji23]I renewed my Marriage Visa extension in November. I received a phone call from Hua Hin Immigration three weeks after the application saying Bangkok now wants pictures of our Son alongside us in the usual poses, outside with house number, inside, etc. It was no big deal as he is 13 years old, but definitely a first in three years of renewals.

In addition to this, at least here in Phuket, they want the pictures of your children inside the house, birth certificate and ID card, the funny part is that my daughter is 26 and living with her fiancee in Bkk... It makes no sense.I chose that option many years ago. I am on my 11th extension based upon marriage now.
You can change the reason for your current extension to marriage when it or near to expiring.
Here is my general list of required documents. Marriage Extension Requirements 2.pdf
