It depresses me when I see a dirty beach, so I sometimes fill a carrier bag or two up with trash that I find.
Done this as far south as Chumphon and various spots all the way around the Gulf of Thailand to Koh Chang. I was particularly OCD at one resort in Koh Chang and filled up 4 cement bags with junk.????
Based on my less than scientific analysis, I estimate the rubbish in the Gulf is 90%+ in Thai script.
Well done sir !
Take a bow.
I've seen ither foreigners doing this in other places and it restores my faith in humankind.
Good on you !

They are so desperate for tourists they are even appealing at givernment level.
Have they not stopped to think maybe tourists don't want to come here anymore........maybe the pollution, scams, xenophobia and general filth everywhere has put them off.
You had it good thailand, but you thought it would last forever. You're outbof favour with tourists now and you did it yourself.
So suck it up and be nicer to the few tou have still got left.
I pity you not.

Because the grubby little bars were closed.
So is that a reason to open them ?

Open the bars and the virus will follow.

Nobody here to go to the bars anyway.
Maybe a few of the upscale bars will be ok but not these grubby little bars full of bar girls begging for drinks.
Stay in the fields growing rice girls, your prince charmings have gone.

They want empty beaches for themselves, dont want other handsome sexy man competition in the bars. They want free only Pfizer vaccine and they would like to prohibit Songkran.
Sounds ok to me.
You stuck in your home country feeling left out , are you?
Nice to be treated well and apreciated for a change.
Long may it continue.

Very strange you get treated like scum.
You have, you just haven't noticed it beyond that false smile.

Compensate they adequately and they'll reward you with loyalty. What do you expect?
They'll be gone when the hotels are open again. Pay mimimum and expect maximum effort. They wont thank you for any help you give them.
You're in the driving seat now, time to stop being trodden on by ungrateful, entitled locals.

Now the shoe is on the other foot.
Walk away from taxis with no meters, ask for a discount on everything.
Dont offer them any help or support. Be selfish, its your money. See how they like it now.

Nah, don't open up.
They haven't learned their lesson yet.
When they start to realise it was foreigners propping them up and stop taking us for granted.
Given it another year so a few more lose their business and homes. Then they might be more gratefull.

So why hasn't the family been investigated yet.

As a former diver I'd be asking a few questions:
#1. Where was the boat found, out at sea or moored as per the picture?
#2. As a divemaster he would know better than to dive alone, so was he diving or something else?
#3. Did he go alone?
The answers to these 3 questions ca
How can you tell if someone is a dive master when you meet them ???
Easy, it's the first thing they tell you !

OK, so that's say 43,000 tourists a month. Can they please show the evidence of that actually happening ? Can they show the 43,000 bums of flights booked ? Hotels booked by those same 43,000 bums ? No, thought not !
We all wish them well, but we all know reality from Jackanory
I dont wish them well at all.
The taxi rip offs, hookers, scam artists, thieves, corrupt officials, bent coppers, lack of care for peoples safety and welfare
Nah, i dont wish them well.
Kinda glad they're all skint with plenty of time to reflect on their attitude towards tourists and expats.

The government was wrong to allow travel during songkran. But the people should have used common sense and stayed where they were.....the general population acted very irresponsibly and complains that the government are too strict.
If they were a bit more responsible the government wouldn't need to treat them like idiots.
