  1. If you're vaccinated then showing a vaccination card is normal everywhere these days. If you are not vaccinated, well then just suck it up and do your ATK test and if you're negative in 15mins you're free to go. Atleast now you don't have to pay $60 for a PCR test anymore plus spend and pay 48 hours in a Q-hotel anymore. These are the most liberal entry conditions in SE Asia at the moment. But if you're fundamentally against vaxx and any testing.....then its your choice to just stay home and don't travel outside until there are zero restrictions, simple ????????
  2. Apart from expected teething problems in the first days, its basically back to the same as entering Laos in 2019. The issue could be for Thai residents returning to TH, having to download the Thailand Pass, insurance etc etc (right?). In time Thailand will align to the Lao non-restrictions in my opinion.
  3. These kind of big changes in Laos take time to settle in ???? it will be a while until its all settled down. My next hope is that more airlines will start to flying into VTE and LP soon ????
  4. Laos is fully reopening on Monday 7th May, with no restrictions. In fact it will be the easiest SE Asian country to get into/ HAPPY DAYS after 777 days ! ???? In summary: • Fully vaccinated: only need certificate of vaccination • Not fully vaccinated: ATK test with in 24 hours before departure • Private vehicles can be used to enter and exit Laos • E-visa and visa on arrival are available • Effective 09 May 2022 onwards • No Lao Green Pass, no insurance, no test on arrival. https://laotiantimes.com/2022/05/07/laos-drops-testing-for-vaccinated-tourists-announces-full-reopening/?fbclid=IwAR1fsXWfr6W3RgHtZHNsowP402399JvAS2uG-1DXfEAmxLbdRG9U9KhfjvE
  5. I was under the impression China has banned its citizens from outbound travel, unless they are essential workers abroad - and even then they are subject to a 3 week quarantine back home in China.
  6. I live just down the road from you Simon, I can just imagine the uncontrollable glee and joy of the local much overworked Village plod thinking he has caught this dangerous international capitalist spymaster in his backyard ????. In all seriousness, now that VTE is involved and clearing things up I imagine you will be fine and your passport returned pronto. Maybe invite them for a round of Beer Lao ????. Sok Dee !
  7. Just as a side note - the case numbers on the ASEAN table for Laos are to 99% Lao labourer returnees from Thailand that are tested upon arrival and immediately interned into the border quarantine camps. Community transmissions as such here are in daily single figures, if at all, and mainly in Vientiane and Luang Namtha province. The biggest challenge and fear for Laos is that the Delta variant carried over from Thailand by returnees will escape and overwhelm our meagre medical facilities.
