It's high season and there's not a sole about. Walking street is as good a closed. M/Shops those that are open are empty. Bars yes, some open but again Not a customer about, fine if you want to sit in and empty bar watching the ladies playing connect 4.  Ko Lan might be ok, cant comment on that, as I said we left asap. So didn't do it, but if it's anything like the rest of Pattaya I would give it a miss.

I would relymore on the people who live here for advice, not from day trippers. As others have said, it is much quieter than this time last year but definitley not dead. Water is cleaner, roads are quieter. I would recommend a trip down Jomtien. Quite a bit  busier than Pattaya and only a 10baht bus ride or short car journey away. The seafood restaurants at the end of Beach Rd, Jomtiem are very busy most nights but the weekends are really busy.

Why strange? That is exactly what quarantine is for.

Apologies, I didn’t word my post very well.

I just think it strange that they find so many Covid positive cases in quarantine when the non Thai people should have already produced a certificate to state they have been 14 days Covid free.

yes and a pile of them in the road just before or after the Tesco entrance as you go from Dolphin towards 3rd Road. Just saw them in time............

    And......

  4. I wonder how many Chinese expats are living in Thailand. I believe they are the predominant investors in Thailand.  Chinese investors own the majority of the 49% condo foreigner allocations in a lot of condo buildings. They are mostly to blame for the majority of the Airbnb rentals. Not all you beer bellied oldies who seem to think they are the sole reason why Thailand survives ????????

I think you can attribute some of the price difference down Thais being a superstitious bunch. Thais believe in ghosts so therefore any old property can have a ghost. Many Thais will only consider new and will pay a premium for it..

All those spirit houses in the front of the house/condo block are not there for decoration.

Can you rent one of these spirit houses. Could be a bargain!

Two types of Licence a foreigner can obtain:

    - 2 Year Temporary Driving licence

    - 5 Year Driving Licence

    Thats it.

After holding a 2 year temp licence a *foreigner can apply for a 5 year licence and then **renew it each 5 years.

There is no licence thats longer than **5 years.

*Note: A non-Immigrant Visa is required to renew to a 5 year licence.

**Further Note: Its possible to ’stretch’ the 5 years to 6 years if applying to renew your 5 year licence the day after your birthday.

If you go just after your Birthday then you can get close to 6 years.

My Birthday is in Sept and I went to DLT 3 weeks ago to change from a 2 year to a 5 year. My new licence  expires in September 2026

does anyone even watch that video ?

Last time i was waiting in the Land office, i noted about 16 people on their phones and about 12 sleeping, with only a couple looking completely bored

Maybe a little different with the questions this time.

the attached should scare a few people.

What about the many big bike riders who have been riding them for years, or even decades?. Again, an ill-thought out idea, with many questions still left unanswered. Another knee-jerk reaction to a problem that does not actually exist, from people with no expertise in the area.

Geez...talk about jumping the gun. Let things settle petal and the outcome will be revealed OK.

Poor maintenance or poor management.....?"....Poor maintenance is because of poor management, in fact good management is the vital key to all aspects of all business's.  BUT...a good management 'team' need to be well educated & qualified.

Hmm lets see....Exxon Valdez, Deepwater Horizon, Piper Alpha to mention a few.

Unfortunately disasters occur worldwide due to poor management.
