Nonsense ! You are who you are, people will or won't help others entirely dependent on the situation and their own demeanor.

Race Creed Color or religion doesn't enter into it, or at least it shouldn't. Not in my book anyway.

I didn't read where the OP mentioned:

    • Race
    • Creed
    • Color
    • Religion

Are you saying that we cannot make assumptions about Thais? I live here and I don't believe it to be true.  We can make assumptions and while there may be exceptions, we will be mostly correct.

A large plastic bag fits discretely in my back pocket nicely, more discrete that my wallet and my phone. I never leave home without it, same as my phone. What is your problem? When I was young, there were NO plastic bags anywhere. We were given paper bags (and today in the U.S. you will pay for paper bags). We survived all the same. Save the world for your children and grandchildren.

Logically take me step-by-step through how the world is saved by you carrying a plastic bag in your back pocket.

For the record, I used to carry a plastic bag in my back pocket when I was younger.  It was in my wallet.

    They called it a rubber.

I have a 10 years old Vaio laptop with 7 Home. Since the support stoped updates it became slower and acting strange. I decided to upgrade to 10. 1st I took it back to factory condition by recovery CDs. Then upgraded to 10. Now it works just like a new laptop.

Sorry, my experience tells me you are not correct.  Try opening Chrome or any browser, and an app.  Good luck.

Windows 7 was far away better than the atrocious 10. Only thing going for it is it's better than the abominable 8.

Hate using 10, but came with the machine.

I doubt anyone despises MS more than I.

Not true.  Windows 10 on a proper machine is more secure than Windows 7.

I still like XP.  On older computers I install Windows 7 and turn off all that is not necessary.  Have you ever seen a Windows machine running at 1 percent?  That is how mine work.  Keep windows 7 especially if you have an older machine.  You will not like 10 on a non-suitable machine.

  5. What a fantastic day! One trip to 7/11 netted 6 plastic bags!

I neglected to get a picture of the boy's fried sandwich which was placed on a paper sheet, only to be put into a plastic bag and then placed into another plastic bag.  I'm not sure why the water had to be in a bag by itself.

I figure I got 4 dookie bags out of this trip.

  6. I am always amused to watch dog owners in America following their poopy pooches with a plastic bag over their hand, waiting for the little Rover to drop a dookie.

When little Fido dookies in the park, the owner will pickup the poop and deposit it in the trash.  He doesn't take it to the ocean, or drop it in the street.  He takes care of it properly.

Here in Thailand the Thais could give a *$&$&%$& about where the bag goes.  They dump oil into the sewers, litter their country like pigs and then everyone laments that some sea animal buys it due to getting strangled.

Blame the bag.  It's the bag.  Same stupid logic as blame the gun, or the knife.

So let's ban dog dookies or dogs, or bags or anything else that matters not.

But the last thing you want to blame is the litterer.

Make everyone else the crook in this equation.  Don't make the people who litter responsible for their littering, just ban the bag so they can't litter anymore.

To hell with the rest of us who find utility in something as simple as a plastic bag.

And all you do gooders out there, you social justice warriors, do nothing but enable the lawbreaking litterers.

    Great plan.

It seems that most of the expat guys here in Chiang Mai walk around in some variant of cargo shorts with a gazillion pockets.  So how difficult is it to have one of those folded up nylon bags in one of those pockets?  That's what Hubby does.

But, it's gotten to the point that we buy small plastic bags for disposal of the cats' tuna truffles since our supply of grocery store plastic bags is now almost non-existent.  Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

I don't own a single pair of cargo pants.  I have an issue with the excessive amount of cloth used to make one of these anti-societal and wasteful pants.

When you buy your small bags for the cat's truffles, do you put them in a bag at checkout, or do you open them and stuff them into one of the truffle bags?

Perhaps you stuff them into the cargo shorts!  Don't you know, that some poor woman in China slaved to knit those shorts for you and she was probably paid very little and lucky if she can afford cat food to eat.

I expect long lines at the cashiers because some people will need a lot of time to pack their things themselves.

You don't have to look far, just visit Tops in Central Lad Prao on any no bag day and you will see a disaster.  It takes 3 times the normal process to deal with no bags.

It's a very bad idea all around.

I don't think I have ever read such a selfish OP than this one,  so you want plastic bags to pick up your cats cr ap with ? They do sell biodegradable bags in different sizes that will fit your trash can in the kitchen or smaller ones for the dog or cat cr ap, if you can't afford to buy those perhaps you should consider getting rid of the pet because you obviously can't afford to look after an animal.

What are you gonna do come January or whenever the government decides to implement a total plastic bag ban ? eh.

Do you walk or drive to the shops ? It would be really ironic if you drove to avoid causing pollution LOL 5555

I own one of the few Left Hand Drive Cadillac Seville's and without specifically dating my boat, it is from the 80's.  It sports an 8 Cylinder Detroit Engine with a cubic inch displacement that would make John Holmes jealous.

It has been known to attract attention where we go.  And for a boat from the 80's, it gets fantastic mileage too!

What I do not understand, is how so many of the social justice warriors we have posting here on TV.  Everyone seems to forget that I get a dual use from my bags.  I love my plastic bags!  I collect them!  Double bag is my motto.

    I am a double-bagger!

I am curious, how would you have me dispose of my cat crapola?

I was reading your reply in the way you don't like  walking around with a shopping bag when going out .

    lost in translation I think

You keep a condom in your wallet for that time you didn't plan.  Do you have 2?  Or perhaps 5 condoms in your wallet? Who goes out to the movies and takes shopping bags with them, just in case they shop?

This is why stores have bags.

  11. Wonderful idea.  Sometimes I shop on a whim.  I take Ikea bags with me to Makro because I know they don't have bags.  They don't hide them.

I plan my trips to Makro.  In the case of shopping at Foodland I may do it spur of the moment and I might not be home.  I don't carry those stupid clothes bags with me when I go out.

Yes it really does matter. It's not racism, it's snobbery. Big difference.

Although, I'd hate to be thought of as a racist but i'd also hate to be thought of as a snob. You've got to admit racist is worse though.

Your use of the word racist is incorrect.  The term is bigot.

  13. 1 minute ago, DannyCarlton said:

You're both on the wrong track. Check my post above to realise why Thai people don't like dark skin, it's not racism, it's snobbery.

    Tomato Tomahhhhhhto ...

Does it matter?  It's still thinking one is better than another based on the color of their skin.
