  1. How about using "accused, alleged" or "fall guys"? Many people remain unconvinced they were the perpetrators.
  2. Do any of you remember Stickmanbangkok from NZ? How he used to write post after post against the dowry and then in the end paid one himself for his own wedding? Did that wedding last btw? I only remember him going back to NZ. His posts sure warned me about Thai ladies though. The readers stories section was amazing (not just for horror stories).
  3. I should add that filling in the digital arrival card for each visit will still be required.
  4. Autogates only exist at the airport. But once you are in the system, you can use them, is my understanding. I don't see why you couldn't use them then to exit at KLIA but best to confirm this at the airport with an immigration officer.
  5. I had found out about this only recently from a comment under a YT video of a flight reviewer missing his flight at KLIA due to being stuck in the immigration exit line for one hour. I had not heard before that as a passport holder from one of of the 10 eligible countries, I could apply for this and as a frequent traveller to Malaysia this would make things so much easier. Arrived on Thursday evening - my 3rd time ever since the digital arrival card was introduced and asked an official in the arrivals hall about using the autogates. I was directed to the nearby immigration office where they took my fingerprints and presto! that was it. From now on, I can use them all the time (digital arrival card still required). I immediately used it to enter (& exit the next day), it takes about 10 seconds now. šŸ˜€ No more stamps in the passport too, which is another benefit, as even with extra pages, a 10 year pp lasts me only about five. The eligible "you've been good girls & boys" nationalities are: Australia, Brunei, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, United States and the United Kingdom P.S. Thailand should do this but they never ever will.
  6. It took the Fins 18 years to build their last one (unit 3 at Olkiluoto). Just sayin' šŸ˜
  7. Most folks on this forum wouldn't qualify for one: "To be eligible to apply for an ABTC you must hold a valid passport from an APEC economy (or be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Hong Kong, China), engage in regular business travel throughout the APEC region and have no criminal conviction."
  8. Well, unless someone forced you to come here, you only got yourself to blame. This is why wise people recommend starting with a trial period. Do you also have the figure of the amount you brought into the country? Did you come out ahead?
  9. The flights originate in TPE, stop in BKK, then continue to LHR and vice versa. EVA has done this routing for decades but some of their flights go nonstop from their European destinations to TPE.
  10. They obviously meant total traveling time, including all layovers.
  11. You jealous? No need, I think. Assaults on the crew on the rise, frequently getting sick, entitled attitude in all classes, airlines cutting costs, overbearing ones like Qatar, dictating every part of your life, lousy pay, etc. . It depends on the airline of course, but I recently flew KUL - KTM, a 4hrs 40 mins flight. By the time we landed in KTM the crew had already been at work for 6+ hrs and they had to work the flight back as well. A 13+ hr work day, working all through the night. Of course, there are hours with not much to do but such a night shift takes it out of you. And all of this for peanuts. So, if that's a piece of cake, you're welcome to it.
  12. Russians in general aren't good at following rules, to put it mildly. Just 500 seems very mild. But maybe having a rap sheet in Thailand now will make it harder for her to enter in the future. Plus, her visa might still get revoked.
  13. Please don't put your personal issues/trips on the flight crew. Their life is hard enough as it is.
  14. And there it is. Of course, none of the horrible behaviors shown by these foreigners will announce themselves at the immigration check, where everyone is on their best behavior. So, what will they do or look for that they don't already?
  15. Well, you picked her, so ... I had one from Southern Tyrol, 5 years older than me (I really don't discriminate either way - + or -), loved her dearly.
  16. I think it's best if everyone 'sweeps in front of their own door' and refrains from judging others they've never even met, as much as possible. In my younger years I also never thought I'd one day be making out with someone 40 (!) years my senior but it happened last year šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø. Never say never.
  17. Seems he hates everyone. His ex sure outclassed him. Wish these bitter people stayed at home. He might end up in prison for quite some time.
  18. Absolutely shocking. This should have some serious consequences. Also, why do I keep seeing this about Western retirees in Thailand? What makes them so aggressive there?
  19. They had entered Sri Lanka with their Chinese passports, they simply had no other choice. Thinking they could pass as Canadian citizens was certainly very dumb. Makes you wonder how they would have survived over there, had they succeeded.
  20. One has nothing to do with the other though and many (most?) guests are Thais. So, what are you saying here?
  21. Most people don't know that we use francs in Europe. On a serious note, RIP. He was maybe one and a half year older than me. We could die at any time, better be a good person.
  22. "The flight successfully operated to Suvarnabhumi Airport at 12.34am, today, February 8." Plus two international flights diverted, that's quite a mouthful. It appears that THAI have no procedure to deal with this type of situation (and no air marshal on board)? Makes you wonder if this couldn't have been dealt with better and faster. If it was a genuine panic attack, the calls for strong punishment aren't going to change anything about the situation or even his future behavior. He should seek treatment at home.
  23. I'd have stopped right in front of them to prevent them from going further. Him actually stopping was the best chance. That would have prevented the needless death. Driver could have had a medical emergency or been drunk.
  24. I have yet to see an adult look good in them and I am flummoxed why people actually use them as street wear. Do they think it will get them 10% off all purchases? šŸ¤”
  25. Tune in again next week for more drama in "As the somtam turns" šŸ˜œ
