I like him, as he shook up the deep state, and exposed the swamp for what it is, along with MSM.

I don't want him as President again.   Might be better than Dem candidate for the USA, but not me and the exchange rate & COLA.  Might mean loosing 25% on the exchange rate, and 50+% on COLA.

    NO THANKS

Voting for Biden, if he gets the nod, will probably mean a Harris presidency also, before 2028.   Even scarier for the USA & world, but great for me.

Seems like most believe Biden will be in the grave shortly after his reelection.  No real sure what makes one believe this and let me just ask; what would be wrong with a Harris presidency?

  2. I'm seeking information anyone might have whether there is a motorbike training/testing course offered in English in the Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, or Nakhon Pathom areas?  I have a 5-year car/truck DL already but I want to get the motorbike endorsement to be 'legal' riding the motorbike around town.

I living within a kilometer of the Ratchaburi Dept or Land Transport's licensing/testing center, however, they don't offer the required motorbike drivers safety course in English.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

TM6 required at land border crossings not at airports.

The tm6 # etc will not be required by Thai immigration for such things as extensions etc.

Yesterday I visited the Ratchaburi IMO to submit an annual ext. of stay application/re-entry permit.  (DrJack54) To you point above "...The tm6 # etc will not be required by Thai immigration for such things as extensions etc. ..." it's worth noting that I was asked to provide the TM6 number and a copy of the TM6 form with my application packet.  It did feel more like a box-checking exercise than anything else, but I gave the IMO what they asked for and I was in/out in about 20 mins with a new extension stamp and multi/reentry....

    Thanks for everyone's comments...

  4. Seeking confirmation of a couple of points regarding the TM.6 Form and whether Immigration has reinstated its use as a matter of post Covid policy or is its use specific to (1) southern land border crossings at Betong and Sadao  or (2) due to the recent crackdown on overstays?

Context:  I'm on a non-O based on Ret w/ a multiple entry and have (...since the country opened "post Covid") been in and out of Thailand and the TM.6 form wasn't used.  This past weekend, I went on a bit of a road trip through southern Thailand and Malaysia exiting at the Betong crossing and reentry one day later at the Sadao crossing.   I was part of a local group tour.  The IMO at Sadao required that I fill out TM.6 as in the "pre Covid" days?!  Is the TM.6 a thing again?  Thanks in advance.

  5. All,

im considering going on a group tour with my wife, she’s Thai, to Malaysia next month. The tour company is saying (at this point, requiring) me to apply for a formal visa to enter Malaysia?  As I read their website, it clearly states a visa-on-arrival (stamp) is granted for 3 months and ext,d for 2 months.

Does anyone has experience traveling to Malaysia by land border where a formal visa was required?

    Thanks in advance.

That doesn't sound right, as I thought you had to do your extension, in the province you reside.  For you, registered address/yellow book, that would be Bangkok.  How are you doin ext. at Ratchaburi.

Unless you are giving them a Ratchaburi address for you visa ext.

Yes, I own a home in Ratchaburi and it's the address for which I have a residence certificate and registered with the immigration office.  I live a few Kms from the Ratchaburi immigration office so I'm there every 90 days.  Most of the folks in the office recognize and remember me and I'm usually in and out in less that 10 mins each time.  My last annual extension of stay and multi re-entry was done in about the same time too.  Btw, I gave a copy of my yellow book and pink ID to the Ratchaburi immigration office and as I mentioned earlier, I've not had any issues thus far.

  7. I bought a 2019 Toyota Revo new from the dealership in Ban Pong, Ratchaburi in August of 2019.  Ever since I owned the vehicle I've been trying to get the GPS maps in the navigation system updated.  I've had several trips back to the dealership to try and order the new SIM card, but they tell me one isn't available.  The current map data is from 2013.  I have to believe updated maps are available?  If in the US I could just order the new SIM card by its part number.  Anyone have similar experience and or resolutions they could share?  I'm not the guy who's going to drive off a bridge or into the sea and blame it on the GPS, so don't go there!?  Thanks in advance.

You make an excellent point and conclusion. It seems the shenanigans will continue behind the scene.

It's clear that disinformation will be the only thing guaranteed for the immediate future.

More stressful to me as an American is seeing my tax dollars (and yes, I still pay considerable home taxes) spent to ship authentic and proven effective vaccines being donated by my home country while knowing beyond any doubt that I will not benefit from it.

I seriously doubt that the 20% requirement for any/all farang, regardless of nationality, will be honored as well.

It's just sad when both your home country and adopted country abuse you.

I'm quite willing to pay for Moderna but expect honest business practice to be followed in the process. That also appears to be but a fantasy.

Yesterday my daughter was able to register and pay for my wife and I for two jabs of Moderna (2400 baht total or 1200 per jab) at Vimut Hospital.  She registered us on Monday and was sent the payment link yesterday where she completed the payment via bank transfer.  She used my Pink ID and my wife's Thai ID to register us.  No dual pricing and no apparent hassle.  We await our appointment emails...

    Hi. Tony,

Thanks for sharing your post just now about your experience renewing your OA visa.

If you wouldn't mind sharing details about the insurance policy. you obtained from LMG that would also be helpful to me as I will be preparing an OA application packet shortly.

HI, I did PM you a Guideline document with Tips & Caveats on how to subscribe to the LMG Insurance Plan-1 policy.

Thanks for sharing your Guideline document, it was very helpful.  Full disclosure , I've been a member for quite some time but never posted before, just followed relevant topics as best I could.

I'm married to a Thai now for 10 years as of the 27th of this month.  I decided to retire after several years of consultancy in the UAE and work in the USA.  We arrive in BKK a couple of weeks ago and will end our quarantine on Sunday and finally get to go home.  We built a home in Ratchaburi 2015-16 and will now have time to enjoy it.  I obtained a one year Immigration visa Non-O multi entry from the Thai embassy in Abu Dhabi and received an entry stamp that's good until 7th Jan 21? Three months from my arrival.  Does this represent the 90-Day visa I read about in the many posts? The visa in my passport has dates covering a year from the issue day?

I know I have to report to the IO in Ratchaburi and declare my residence address and plan on doing that the day after we leave quarantine.  Could anyone here in the Forum share what I should expect are the next steps?  Will I have to apply for an extension of stay as discussed herein toward the end of my first 90-days even though my visa is dated a year long?  Do any of the members have any specific experience with the IO office in Ratchaburi they would be willing to share?

Lastly, I seek member advise and counsel on whether applying for an O-A or 5 year visa is a good idea?  I'll be 62 in Jan-21, I have a yellow book in my name as I own a condo in Bangkok; I have a truck also in my name and a bank account which I opened las Dec-19 with well more than the 800k mentioned herein as well as a joint account with my name as primary and my wife's name secondary.  Outside of the insurance policy, noting the aforementioned, will I also have to prove a monthly income (transfer from overseas ) into my bank account ?

Sorry for the long message and appreciate and clarity from any of the senior members.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

I have just PM-ed you a comprehensive guideline document outlining all details/options to apply for a Non Imm O - retirement Visa (which does not require the health-insurance requirement).

Note > I am a bit in a hurry now, but will answer your specific questions later...

    Hi Peter,

I'm a fairly new member and would appreciate you sharing with me the same comprehensive guideline document that you mentioned in your message above.  I will be retiring around October of this year and settling down in Thailand in a home we built several years ago.   I too have been on the OA path and have gotten the documents to fillout from the Thai Embassy here in Abu Dhabi.
