I think everyone has missed the point here, we can and do own land in Thailand. When I lived in Pattaya I owned my own house in a company name, and sold it with no problems, now that I live in the country I am married and we own a small farm here. Thai law states that if you are devorced you are entitled to half of all assets and I have had a couple of friends that have won their court cases. You can also take out a 30 year lease if you so choose.

How many police drive up and down the roads every day? If they opened their eyes and warned the offenders to remove the objects from the road or be fined then maybe less would do it. Maybe they should also try to remove restaurant table and chairs from footpaths. 555 what a joke, it will never happen in my lifetime so lets just put up with it.

When I had a bar in Pattaya I had a few police come in saying I had to pay, I told them all I only pay the top cop and for them to sort that out. It worked as I only paid one cop once every month.

I thought they also passed a law about no passengers allowed to ride in the back of a pickup.

The problem is if you toot your horn at a Thai they may take offense and then anything can happen.

In Pattaya most bars pay (tea money) to police on a monthly basis and if they don't an excuse will be found to fine you anyway. If this isn't corruption then what is???

Everyone is focussed on the bars and alcohol but what about the markets and overcrowded factories, I have read a lot more clusters are attributed to these places than bars.

What a lot of rubbish but they have to blame something to save face so lets blame Omicron for no tourists. Open all bars and nightlife and see how many tourists come.

How can they get away with it 5 times without something being done. Close the place indefinatly for not obeying the law and if they open again lock up the manager and staff for a week or so, they will soon comply.

I say again it is only the bars in Pattaya that spread covid, bars in Phuket, Bangkok, Cha Am, Korat and many others seem to operate without spreading Covid. Covid is now very Particular in where it decides to spread. By the way it doesn't like concerts or firework displays because they are to noisey or there are to many people so covid does not know who to choose. Lets get real, open nightlife because covid is never going away.
