Hi, im currently in thailand on a METV and just got the 30 day extension stamp. Can anzone tell me if its possible to cross the border to Laos at the moment and come back via land border the same day like it used to be? If not what troubles lie ahead of me? Is there somethin equivalent to the Thai Pass i have to apply for to even enter Laos and do i have to apply for a new Thai Pass again if i want to reenter Thailand from Laos? Are there any other options for me to extend my stay?

Yes i can confirm i applied her as a thai citizen and they asked for her permanent residence and phone number in country traveled from.e I decided to provide the adress we were staying at and used her own phone number.
On a dise note, the vaccination papers we had were non english. Apparently thats a problem. I wasnt aware of that when i submitted the application.
Ill update once i have news regarding approval or denial of this application.

Hi,
ran into a little problem with the thai pass for my thai girlfriend. On the accomodation step it is required to state permanent residence and phone number of the country we are traveling from but she has neither. What are we supposed to fill out? Any insight would be appreciated.

Didnt realise all borders were closed - so i wont be able to cross over to laos after my visa runs out?

Hi, trying to figure out if to apply for a METV. I am Austrian and 35 years old. Is this information correct:
With a METV i will get 60 days upon arrival wich can be extended for 30 days at immigration. Then i can leave and reenter Thailand again and get and additional 60 days that can be extended for 30 days at immigration. Then before the last 30 days are over i can leave Thailand again and reenter for the last possible 60 days and 30 day extension.
Did i get that right or did i make a mistake in the above statement?

quick follow up question to see if i got my math right: if i go to request an extension on the 19th the additional 7 days would mean i could leave latest on the 26th until midnight yes?

Hi
im currently on an extension for a Visa exemption running out soon. I need around 7 more days before i can leave. Now i read that i can go apply for another extension, get denied and get 7 days to leave the country. Is this still the case? How likely would it be that i get no additional days?
Is there a chance the debied extension could interfere with an elite visa application?
If it matters Austrian Passport, Udon Thani Immigration.

wasnt even an exempt for me when i flew into bkk i had a SETV. But now i want to do a land border crossing kinda hard to asses the situation with so much conflicting information on the subject.

Ok thanks for the reply, i just asked since the guys from immigration at BKK seemed a little agitated with me and asked me why im here again when i arrived in september.

im planning to exit and renter thailand next week using one of my 2 per year land border visa exemptions and would like an assesement if my chances of it working out. I plan to cross at Nong Khai friendship bridge.
My visa vistory this year:
SETV January 2019 + extension
Land Border Visa Exemption + exten.
went home to europe for 3 months
SETV 25th September + extension
I have to leave Thailand latest 23d december and would like to know if i should be ok just goin in and out at Nong Khai or if i should wait for next year in Laos.
Its a little bit of a tricky situation because my parents want to come visit me and my girlfriend in january next year so im trying to makr sure everything works out.

Would you say if things stay as they are currently its generaly better to go for a new TV in Vientianne or is a 1 time border hop relieable enough if i want to keep my mode of operation going? ie 3 monts TV then added 2 months.

Hi im currently planing to do a border hop to get my first visa exemption this year. Currently ive been in Thailand 90 days on a TV with an 30 day extension.
The border i plan to cross and reenter is at Nong Khai. Any advice on this plan?
Do i have to stay in laos over night or can i just go back to thailand after i had a coffee in laos? Additionaly i should clarify that the past 3 years ive spent 4-5 months per year in thailand on touristvisas, i am 33 years old caucasian. This time i planned on getting another tourist visa but didnt realize they implemented an online appointement system and the waiting period is very long. Do you think i will be ok going for an visa exemption?

Thanks for the reply, i was told at immigration today that covid extensions arent given out anymore. Also im currently in udon thani are there any flights out of thailand that leave from udon airport or will i have to travel back to bangkok?
Also is there a similar thing in the bordering countries like the Thai Pass for thailand? For example a Laos Pass or Cambodia Pass.
