  1. I have had that issue in my left eyelid while driving for the last few years, I just chalked it up to being an old f$%cker
  2. I started having a similar issue recently. I started checking my BP in the morning and it is critically high, even though I am on BP medicine. I immediately got an appointment with my cardiologist and will get it under control.
  3. Mine is big enough to make me happy, and I don't get any complaints, so that is enough. worrying about your junk is pretty self serving. There wlll always be millions of guys with bigger junk than you have, but you can't change it (safely) so just make your way thru life and with what you have and make sure you can please her some way so you are both happy

    Drunks

I attended an epic party yesterday in P-lok, slept/passed out for 12 hours and was pretty sure I would fail a breathalyzer the next morning... No police rules will fix stupid (like me yesterday). EDIT: I left the party at 5pm, so no need to make rules to stay open all night...
  5. My wife told me that when they banned parking on the right side of beach road they told people to park in Central's parking. Not sure if it is true, but I have noticed an uptick of traffic in that parking lot.
  6. I have lived here a while and travel a lot. Whenever someone says they are planning a trip to Thailand, the first thing I tell them is DON'T RENT A BIKE. If you are not an extremely experienced rider using a ton of common sense, just don't. I have 22 years riding a superbike before moving to Thailand and only by the grace of god I haven't had an accident in the 17 years I have been here.
  7. My wife's friend and her English husband just went to The W hotel with their little dog, my wife said the pictures showed an excellent accommodation. I have stayed there once and it is an exceptional property.
  8. I wish it was that simple for me. As I have epilepsy, every time I have tried to quit smoking without an alternative I have serious seizure issues, Vaping has kept me from smoking and seizing. I consider it a win win. I promise I will vape far away from you.
  9. I might look like a tool but my smokers cough is gone and I have only had one cold in the 5 years I vaped compared to every year as a smoker. It has been helpful for me, no smoking for over 5 years now.
  10. I always end up at Patrick's. My wife loves the chateaubriand and it never fails to deliver.
  11. Be aware that Citibank is selling their operations now to UOB bank, so things might change, but Citi is definitely my preferred card. I noticed this month the due date has changed from the 3rd or 4th to the 29th, so maybe the sale of assets has gone thru
  12. I have had a Citibank credit card with a high limit. I use it for a lot of normal charges to get points, I recently bought a new computer for 125k and they immediately sent me an sms asking if I wanted to use points to reduce the cost. After going to the website and agreeing, they used my points to take care of 17k. I hear Citibank is being taken over by UOB, but I would assume UOB will have similar experience.
  13. I had no end of difficulties like this and finally after 9 years of paying a fortune for <deleted> chairs I got the Herman Miller Aeron chair from the authorized reseller in Bangkok. It was really expensive but 9 years later the only issue is some torn fabric on one arm and the wheels are looking dodgy after cleaning them many times. I plan on calling the outlet and asking them to order a new left arm and new wheels... This is a chair I sit in 18 hours a day, pretty much if I am not in bed I am in my office. I think the price was 44k, but I had spent that much total over the previous 9 years on <deleted> that I ended up hating and throwing away.
  14. When I flew from BKK (DM) to Phitsakulok just before New Years they asked to see our Vaccination record from the app for all 4 of us, returning they did not ask.
  15. Turns out about 8 years ago I developed Cold Urticaria, it is as dangerous an allergy as that of say bee stings or peanuts.. Now I find myself in a hoodie if it ever gets below 25C. If it ever were to get below 10C I would not leave the house without an Epipen. So, not loving cold but mornings in Pattaya have dipped to 24ish by the time I am up and my office is always 27+. Even then I can be spotted in my office with the fans off and a hoodie on some mornings.
  16. A Christmas Story Make s me laugh every year as it rings pretty true to my childhood.
  17. First real job was washing dishes at a curling club in Calgary Then a cowboy in southern Alberta some Uni then 4 years at the Old Guard in Arlington Cemetery Fixed cars in my carport in Phoenix to help pay for Uni. Then building telcoms for landline, then the first CDMA cell phones, 2G, 2.5G 3G, 4G and just before covid helped deploy Tmobile's first 5G. Now I am tired and ready to retire...
  18. I had these at a hotel recently in Khaow Yai, haven't ordered yet but I will.. www.sloanes.co.th
  19. Firefly - Shame it was only one season MASH Breaking Bad Star Trek - because of the impact on the genre Big Bang Theory GOT was good but the books were better
  20. I use a Citibank Visa issued here in Thailand. I don't use points too often, but I managed to use them to get 20k baht discount on my 110k gaming comp. I just made the purchase and they prompted me immediately afterwards. I am a fan.
  21. Banglamung announced Sat that they would have Pfizer for 1000 people Monday morning at 8am at the Eastern National Sports Complex. I took my two kids to get it, leaving the house at 3:30am. There were about 30 people there at the time. By 9am they got their shots and we were leaving, the place was packed with thousands of people, all parking full and police directing traffic on the road nearby. Happy my whole family now has good vaccines but what a travesty and tragedy for the other 5000+ folks.
  22. I have a BS in Computer Information Systems from a second rate school in the US. When I moved here I had about 15 years of experience in rating, billing, provisioning and policy at about 150 telephone companies in 10 countries or so. The secret is I honed my skills outside Thailand so I was able to dictate my living situation before I came here. Although I have never had a project in Thailand (just workshops and demos to AIS, DTAC and True) my company is a multinational with offices in at least 87 countries, so I am considered a local employee. I have a work permit and pay taxes here, close to 1m THB annually (ouch). I never converted my visa to a business visa, I kept my marriage extension since I know I will live here longer than I will work. Hope that helps.
  23. I was working worldwide in the Telecom industry, designing and building 3G and 4G back office systems. I stopped in Thailand in 2006 for a holiday. 7 days into a 12 day holiday I decided I would live here. I told the new friends I had met to "hold my barstool, I'll be right back". I flew back, did some networking and soon took the president of a small company out to dinner. Said I would do anything, just had to do it from Thailand. I did take a huge pay cut, because as a small company I never wanted to be the overpaid guy who would be first to go when money got tight. I moved here 3 months later, took over all deployments from Egypt to Fiji. Worked my butt off and we were bought out by one of the largest networking companies in the world in 2013. I still live in North Pattaya even though we only have offices in Bangkok. I am now making a bit more than I used to in the US (post dot-com bust). I hope to retire in about 3 years and will stay here forever. I'll never be rich but I would also never be happier.
  24. I think the one main advantage to Pfizer is that it is approved for teens. I really want my 12 and 17 year old to get the jab so they can be safe returning to the classroom... and oh god do I want them to return ????
