You certainly cannot fly back to the US on an expired passport any longer.
There was always an issue of transiting certain countries on expired documents and there are no non-stop flight to the US anyway.

It’s not 1975 anymore where even babies have their own passport even if the guy had money he needs some valid travel document to get on an international flight.

Excellent link. Thank you for some factual information.

  2. For me the model year is much more relevant than the sale year. After all, it's quite possible to buy a 2022 model year car in 2024. And if you go looking for new or replacement parts for your 2024 car, you're going to be very disappointed when the don't fit/work. Also, the infamous Blue Book deals with model year. The only point in the sale year is if you're trying to convince somebody to buy it based on sale year.

I always undertake on the left if that's what you mean - if so it would be her fault.

<deleted> hogging the right lane as usual but going 40 lol

I don't agree with that. If he turned left from the right hand lane (where there are 2 lanes) across her lane, he used the lanes improperly. She could have been going the same speed as him, not overtaking in the left lane, then she did nothing wrong. I still remember my first driving test video here, keep left, keep left, keep left!!

  4. I've had hundreds of positive experiences with Lazada. There have been a few issues over the years, probably less than half a dozen and all were vendor issues not Lazada issues. I did get pissed at Lazada once as I had to take the returned item to their pickup center. They refused to pick it up from me. Again the vendor sent the wrong item, Yeah, I know I'm lazy.

My USA2Me account / address in Houston runs a flat $10 a month for their plan that I selected, plus typically about $40 per FedEx or DHL economy intl envelope  at that price containing 6 or so forwarded envelopes, or slightly more for heavier weights.

Have had very few issues over the years using their address with any U.S. financials, but I tend to stay away from the US mega financials for other reasons.

Some retailers won't send purchases / packages to them, but I only use them for letter mail anyway, as I use a much more affordable service provider for my shopping purchase mail forwarding.

The 2 seem fairly comparable and reliable. I tend to use surface mail for purchases, nothing terribly expensive mind you, a couple hundred $ at the most. Have never had one go astray or missing. Maybe just sheer luck. Mail parcels tend to always surprise me on how quickly they get here. And I do have things sent directly to my home, even have it as my address with the SSA.

I guess I've been lucky over the years. It often bemuses me to read some of the tales here, mostly how complicated the folks seem make the simple issue of sending/receiving mail from home.

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas (or other applicable holiday) and a Happy New Year!

On your roti, on your chicken, on your shredded pork sandwich, on your bread ''cake'', on your fried cooled and refried cold crabstick sandwiches, and on your raw cabbage salads?  I love it.

How about you?  Do you like condensed milk?

I hate condensed milk in most applications!

I'm assuming you're talking about one of the Houston TX locations of the mail handling and photocopying store chain PostNet?

What's their monthly pricing to provide you an ongoing U.S. mailing address? And then what kind of additional pricing for sending you periodic FedEx / DHL mail forwarding envelopes?

    -----------------------------

One of the issues people always have be mindful about with mail forwarding operations is that they often tend to be classed as "commercial" instead of "residential" addresses in the postal system.

That usually isn't a problem for existing financial accounts a person may have and then do an address change for... But it can be a problem when trying to open a new financial account, or ordering purchases, when the address is rejected because it's recognized as a "commercial" address.

Yes, correct, Houston. I think I pay about $90/year for address and box. FedEx and DHL run about $50 for an International Envelope, can fit a lot of mail. Naturally this can be cheaper by USPS, I simply prefer the premium services.

Occasionally, maybe 10% of the time, some businesses have an issue with the commercial location, but I've always been able to work around it. After doing this for 25 years I've gotten pretty good at it. Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions.

I have had a relative handling my mail but that will be ending soon.  I am looking for a good mail forwarding service that will scan my mail if needed.  Also one that would be able to mail over credit cards...There are tons on the internet, but I am looking for one that someone has used.  Any tips?  Thanks

I used Mailboxes, Etc. for years until the office I used closed, then I switched to Post Net. I've got a good relationship with the Owners, and they are excellent and do virtually anything I ask. Typically, they send the non-junk mail (I trust them to make that determination) to me monthly via FedEx or DHL (premium service was chosen by me). This includes credit cards. I've been doing this for 25 years and it works very well for me. It maintains a USA address for me. This coupled with a Skype local phone number nearly makes me a resident Houstonian! I know quite a few people using "Relatives" and I've found my paid service is much more reliable. More expensive, I admit, but meet's my needs and requirements perfectly.

All -- just learned there will be an online meeting to answer questions about the new tax law for Americans.  It's free with the promo code USBKK23 Tax Committee: Thai Tax on Foreign-Sourced Income (mailchi.mp)

Thanks for the information. I just successfully registered and the promo code definitely Zero'd the charge.
