Pita is a very smart man and if 112 is the compromise for most of the senators to back/not back him, he will do the right thing. he can’t change Thailand in one day, but if he really does a good job, the actual opposition will get more votes, won’t even need any senate votes in 4 years and so it will change step by step.

Not everyone here is old & retired!! Many of us are working expats with Thai wifes, kids etc. while I am technically a guest I do have the right to discuss politics and have a clear opinion about what’s going on in Thailand. And Thailand would/ will be a better country without egocentric, military dinosaurs. A better country to raise kids & a better country for the family in law of westerners. easy to come up with such a comment, if you don’t face hurdles like for example the non-existent pension system in Thailand which makes you fully dependent on your kids or you simply have to work until you die.

Pita has balls of steel and that’s great! They learned from the mistakes Thanathorn made last time with Move Forward. You simple can’t discuss rational with those dinosaurs in charge. His strategy won’t change Thailand completely in one month or more one year, but will be fundamental for the future. and for everyone thinking the next coup is around the corner. Things have changed within the last 10 years. The young generation wants a modern Thailand, isn’t afraid to fight for that, they are educated and can’t be manipulated to the extent the older generation has been in the past.

One of the clear downsides here in Thailand. The government orders something = no one questions it (at least publicly) the damage which has been done to a whole generation of kids is just disgusting! most countries have admitted their faults in dealing with covid in the past, yet Thailand continues stubborn like always. praying that FF will win those elections as they have quite a few decent guys in there with the ability to make rational decisions.

They are simply stupid!! Would have been no bureaucratic effort for them to extend it. Even if 30 days is still enough for most tourists, post-covid a country should do everything possible to thrive tourism. Never understood why Thailand is so strict about that, while countries like Malaysia give a 90 days exemption entry.

Simple solution to this problem: cut the military budget and use it for the air pollution issue!! someone should tell those imbecile dinosaurs in charge that being rich and powerful doesn’t exclude them from getting health problems. EVERYBODY is suffering from that sh** sooner or later!

Well there is something in between, and YES there is an emerging middle class in Thailand. Educated and doctor translates as ambitious for me, not necessary hi-so. All those Problems like in that guys Story root in financial problems and greed from the women’s side. True you can be scammed by Thai women of any Social class. However, a certain level of education and a decent own income of the Woman put the financial aspect within the relationship more in the background. Educated Thai women being financially Independent also don’t choose the First available westerner, as they don’t need it. That’s why so many Business women in their 30s are still Single Here in Bangkok. that’s why it amazes me why so many western guys choose thai women here with who they have 0 similar interests , without being able to communicate properly and all those regular Basic Problems.

I said “some”, not all Europeans.. But it’s a fact that Thai women are still seen a poor/ uneducated and just looking for a well-off white guy by folks who never have been to Thailand before. Same as many idiots back in Europe still roll their eyes, if they hear of expats moving to Thailand.

If all those naive guys would just be patient and not just take the first “isaan teerak” they meet, thinking it’s genuine and eternal love, those stories would happen less frequently. always funny when i am with my wife in europe and some people can’t believe that a Thai woman can have a doctor’s degree, a well-paid job and perfect english ????

I’m still in my 30s, but have known lots of older farang here during my years in Thailand telling me they “love it here, as women are much more caring and have a higher Sex drive compared to their women at home”. thats no excuse for sure and that guy should have simply divorced, but it’s definitely a reason why so many older guys like Thailand and get here what they are missing at home.

Well..thats a good thing to have a Thai wife, allowing me to use the “Thai National” booths when I travel with her and mostly fast track, due to business class, when I travel alone????crazy and I’ve seen both Thai Nationals and thai-western couples queuing at the “International” booths. But it’s up to them, if they dont value their time.
