  1. Hey all,

    2021 Forza 350

All good until 20,000 KMs and I decided to change the OEM tyres that came with it. Up until that point I had no issues.... (If it's not broke, don't try and fix it !!!)

I also ride big bikes all over Thailand and withing days of putting on, what I thought to be very good tyres, Michelin City Grip 2 I went away on a trip....

It was not until I returned and used the scooter a bit more that I suddenly noticed a severe front end wobble at about 70KMH plus....

Again have not been here to sort out.... Took it to tyre place to check wheel balance and they were spot on.

So I either have a problem with the new tyres or something has suddenly decided to be a problem.

I have never fitted steering dampers on any bike in over 40yrs, so there must be something else to try ?

I like to use the Forza to go to BKK, so much easier than the car, but it's madness on the "3" as it is, let alone with a bike that wants t throw me off !!

Up until now I have really enjoyed the bike, perfect size and that little extra power :)

Why doesn’t anyone do something about the growing urge to paint the license plate white and thus illegible.

That would require effort on the part of the Police... It's rampant, I have travelled a lot in the last few months and it's everywhere... In fact I have toyed with the idea myself as they roll out more and more cameras ????

As I've mentioned in other car posts.. We got a City.. a bit roomier than the other small cars..  Honda dealerships everywhere.  The local dealership has treated us really well.  When I went to look at the others they didn't really care if we were there or not.. so went with Honda. With your 800K  you can get all the bells and whistles..  We got the V+ model.. hands free phone.. sound system.. reversing camera (love it).. door handle trim..fog lights..(which we will probably never use).... but not the spoiler and all that other trim.. Very nice to drive lots of power when you want it.. Have a sit in one and see how you like it..

We have the city also, but I must say the fuel economy is woeful.... It's not a big engine but it sure loves the gas. We had a CRV before it and it was also very thirsty.... My Mazda 6 back home is much bigger all round and uses so much less...

Having said that the City goes well with a full load up to the village when required, easily sticking to the speed limit and more.... Has been very reliable to date.

Thank you all for your replies.  I forgot to include the MG at 799,000 but I am not sure about reliability or servicing availability.

    NEW MG ZS

    NEW MG ZS

    1.5L X

My Wife would one of the new MGs but like you I am not sure about the reliability just yet... They are relatively new to the market both here and Australia, I am not ready to commit yet.

I for one love Hyundai, but have no idea why they are not readily available here, they are a big seller back home and come with good warranty and servicing.

As for the secondhand market here, they are very high priced and for not a lot more you could get a new model.... Maybe hang on for a while, if this virus takes hold in a second wave then I am sure there will be many bargains to be had.

If I was a Siberian Husky with a full head of hair, I'd be howling in this heat too.

    The fur actually insulates them.

That's why it's better to rent.  You can move anytime something like this spoils the neighborhood. ????

    Agreed.

I am a big dog lover, have always had dogs for as long as I can remember, Rottweilers or Mastiff breeds....

I should have known better, we had 2 ankle biters and I saw a Husky pup for sale. Gorgeous dog, mischievous and full of energy. We would take him for walks twice a day and he had the run of the house / yard with the other 2. However, I had to return home for medical reasons and the Wife needed to support me, Mom could look after the ankle biters but the husky was too much for her. We had him re-homed to a wonderful family who we have stayed in touch with.

Dogs are not toys, sadly the Thais do not understand this. I suggest you take the route of previous suggestions and wish oyu good luck.

  5. Hey mate,

Feel your pain.. Just been through it twice with Numchai.

As others have stated the current units in my house were undersized when installed, but surprisingly the house does have insulation (it's about 12 y/o) and noticeably cooler than our old house.

For the study we went with a Samsung inverter model, but unlike the previous house have barely used it.

The main bedroom we went with a Midea inverter. Midea was recommended to me by a good friend back in Austalia for a 4 car garage I converted into a studio, it was fully insulated including the walls and worked great. We are use the Aircon at night in the bedroom.

In both cases I went with my research as much as the salesman tried pushing other brands (perhaps got a bigger commission) that were cheaper.

The other things I noted was the star rating. Only the Midea got 2 stars, the rest 1 or 0....

The one great thing here is the install times.... Back home it could be a few weeks, here, consistently it has been same or next day ! Got to love that.

Worth noting too is that Numchai pricing includes STANDARD* installation, and they were by far the cheapest of the big retailers.

    * Standard install is very basic, back to back and so many metres of conduit, cable etc.

PS> I am not associated with Numchai or anything else, just found over the last 6yrs they are consistently the cheapest for electrical goods, usually by a lot.

  6. Mate,

Best check what company has best service in you area, they can vary greatly. We had our MIL setup up with 3BB which used a router and Wifi for 600B per month, worked ok when I visit, can stream movies etc but it is a FIXED point, if you are after portability using your phone as a hotspot again you will need to know who has towers in your area. This can be a more expensive way to do it and usually has download limits.

Jetstar are offering regular flights mel to bnk from 1st aug.

Mate until they actually have flights go I would be very hesitant paying for any airfares, with anyone. Once they have your money it's 'theirs' and they are unlikely to give it back if past experience is anything to go by....

  8. I have just gone through this.

It ended up being a "flapper" valve type thing on the inlet line, it had lost nearly all of it's flapper ???? You will need to take it out and have a look to see if it is functioning.

The "engineer" found it, which was the 3rd person we had look at it.

Dental clinics are closed. With lost fillings, either I make it through to when they re-open, or am carried into a hospital screaming in pain when abscesses form. Just a personal problem in riding out the lockdown.

I have just been to a dentist here on the Darkside, Pattaya, to my knowledge they never closed.

  10. Hey all,

Any idea where I might find a physical map of Pattaya/Chon Buri areas ? I have some for up North(in local shops), but nothing in Patts local, and I HATE google maps or similar with a passion !

    Thanks ????

I am in same boat, though I was lucky to get 6 months worth back In March before the <deleted> hot the fan.

I got this reply on another forum, have yet to try as waited for the blockades to be lifted here in Patts.

I use the MIMS website, and at present it is acting up. You need a log in to it, I was fortunate to have registered before they verified you having a medical licence or pharmacy licence (I however am a former paramedic, so I have some knowledge about medications)

Cymbalta - available. Made by Eli Lilly - distributed by Zuellig Pharma. Packages of 28. Does not appear to be a generic, only name brand - Source is MIMS.

Perindopril Erbumine - sold as Coveram or Coversyl Argenine https://www.drugs.com/international/coversyl-arginine.html (MIMS not working for this one.)

Crestor - shows up in MIMS, so it is sold here. Generic sold as Rosuvastatin GPO and Rosuvastatin Sandoz (Sandoz is the company name)

Suggest that you go to Fascino on Pattaya Nua beside city hall. They will advise if they have these, if they "no hab" ask them to look it up in the computer, as the people you usually deal with there are not pharmacists, but just "assistants" (not sure what training they have). The computer they look things up in is between the two sales counters. As everything over here, they don't want to work too hard for you, as asking them to do their job is "losing face".

I have had good luck with Fascino on Pattaya Klang, they are very helpful if you are really jovial with them. They bent over backwards for me the other day looking up different medications and finding prices. Another pharmacy I have had good luck with is Guardian Pharmacy across from the Areca Lodge on Soi Diana, and Pharmawell across from Block Bar on Third Road to the north of Soi Chaiyapoon. Pharmawell (their Line ID), is here https://goo.gl/maps/GAujJz85QpLpJvEb8 It is a brand new store front on it. Can't miss it

I have had luck ordering medications online. I used this outfit below. The last time I ordered I did have problems with the credit card processor and never did get my order to go through.

    http://canadian-pharmacy-1.com/catalog/Cholesterol_Lowering/Crestor.htm

    http://canadian-pharmacy-1.com/catalog/Anxiety/Cymbalta.htm

    http://canadian-pharmacy-1.com/catalog/Blood_Pressure/Aceon.htm

I was able to get things delivered without any issue from customs. If you import medications, you are supposed to have an FDA licence.

If I was to order multiple items from them, I would do them in separate orders maybe 2 days apart each so that all things arent sent in one package, which would alert customs for a larger package.

    Hope this all helps.
