  1. We get ours from Kamthieng Garden market. There is a shop close to Lotus's and the big fish shop that sells them.
  2. The best baguettes and croissants are from Chouquette bakery, Si Phum Corner. French baker, who imports his ingredients from France and bakes fresh daily. They also have French cafe style food, like omelettes, galettes and croquettes Monsieur, with excellent coffee as well. They also have branches in Maya and Hang Dong areas.
  3. Wat Fa Ham in Chiang Mai has Kayaks for rent, to paddle up and down the Mae Ping river. https://www.chiangmaitravelhub.com/attractions/wat-fa-ham/
  4. Well eventually got around to applying for the 1 Year Multiple entry Visa at Savanakhet and it went fairly smoothly, thanks to all the advice given above. The only slight issue was my wife's signature on the documents, but a quick phone call between her and the immigration officer sorted that out. Once again, many thanks to everyone.
  5. This is different from your normal extension, where you can then stay in Thailand for 1 year without having to leave. This One Year Multiple Entry Visa only allows you to remain in Thailand for a maximum of 90 days and then you have to leave. This is perfect for me, as I travel for business quite frequently and dont want the hassle of re-entry permits.
  6. Is there any Thai Embassy/Consulate in the region, Laos, Malaysia, etc, that issues a One Year Multiple Entry Non-O (Marriage) Visa. Would be good to know where this is possible, as I used to get this Visa every year before Covid. Also if you can tell me what documents are needed, or if an agent is needed. Thanks Chester
  7. Bliss Dentists in Mae Hia, took my 6 year old there when her adult teeth started to appear and the baby teeth had not fallen out yet. https://goo.gl/maps/Ssp9Tmz28XKQYkbW9
  8. I always take electrical stuff to Amorn Electronics, based in the car park of Computer City. https://goo.gl/maps/2BSFTc1nJdbMv6L19 They fix most things and quite cheaply.
  9. Try the Garmin shop on Nimman first https://goo.gl/maps/fohRENMDkNkZsn3E6
  10. The current procedure is the same as pre-Covid. When arriving in Bangkok, there is a transfer desk, where you show your onward boarding pass. You then move into the transfer Immigration area, where you are stamped into Thailand and then move on into the Domestic terminal, where you then head to the gate of your next flight. Please note that previously security checks were done straight after immigration, which led to long queues, often back into the immigration room. That now has changed and the security checks are done prior to the gates, but this can also cause delays, so make sure you head to your gate with plenty of time.
  11. Yes, I used to do my Non-O visa in HCM before Covid, but just wondering if it is still the same procedure or if anything has changed.
  12. Has anyone done a 1 year Multiple Entry Non-O Visa based on Marriage, at either Penang or HCM, recently. If so, what were the document requirements and how long did it take and cost. I have tried emailing the two consulates, but no reply. Regards Chester
  13. I personally see Dr Promphan in The Internal Medicine Dept of Bangkok Hospital in Chiang Mai. I have been seeing her every three months for the past 5 years and is probably the best Dr that I have dealt with in the past 30 years. very knowledgable and speaks perfect English. I can highly recommend her.
  14. I tend to use Dara Pharmacy on Kaeowanarat Road https://goo.gl/maps/obyZvsjuP2kYnJ9FA They are not a chain and seem to have some of the lowest prices around. Also you may not get the exact same medicine brands that you had before. If the Pharmacy cannot advise you of good alternatives, then I would recommend Dr Promphan at Bangkok Hospital, who will be able to assess you and recommend a regime of locally available brands.
  15. I bet the police were well pleased with that outcome. Didn't even have to leave the police station!
