  1. "traditional Thai massage worker" "Sanook who went to the scene and took a video of the closed shop were told that the attack happened Monday. They were alerted to the crime after a Facebook post on a "so you wanna be famous" site." "The owner of the shop was reluctant to speculate on the relationship between the foreigner and the woman though he did understand that "he liked her" So it was never reported to the police until Sanook investigates a Facebook post four days later? Story is bizarre. Hoping the victim pulls through and full recovery.
  2. I'll be sure to ask him when we're at the golf course next week provided it's not flooded.
  3. Why too late? Is the current situation the same as 2011? Honest question. Two weeks ago he said: "...water situation this year "Not worrying" as in 2011" It was true then. Just because I believe in honest reporting of the news, regardless of who the story is about, does not automatically make me a fan of the PM.
  4. The headline "PM: No Flood Worries This Year" is not what what Prayut said unfortunately people here keep repeating it. In that article you linked to Prayut is saying: "Flood situations this year were not as severe as that in 2011" His actual statements in Thai can be found on Facebook: "...water situation this year "Not worrying" as in 2011, however I have ordered continuous surveillance until the end of the rainy season." https://www.facebook.com/prayutofficial/
  5. Remember Devo? "The name DEVO comes from the concept of "de-evolution" and the band's related idea that instead of continuing to evolve, mankind had begun to regress, as evidenced by the dysfunction and herd mentality of American society." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devo
  6. This may be one of the reasons ganja is gaining in popularity with governments legalizing the manufacture and use. A cheap and easy drug to produce that pacifies and numbs ambition. Ambition in the future will not be rewarded the same way it is now.
  7. When did Prayut say "no flooding"? His translated comment that I read: "water situation this year "not worrying" as in 2011" If you have a link to Prayut claiming there will be no flooding please post it.
  8. Too much fake news these days. Prayut did not say "there will be no floods" in his 15 Sept. Facebook post. He said: “Prepare a contingency plan deal with the water situation in a systematic way.” "...water situation this year "Not worrying" as in 2011, however I have ordered continuous surveillance until the end of the rainy season." From his Thai Facebook post 15 September https://www.facebook.com/prayutofficial/ “เตรียมแผนเผชิญเหตุ รับมือสถานการณ์น้ำอย่างเป็นระบบ” สถานการณ์น้ำในปีนี้ "ไม่น่าเป็นห่วง" เหมือนปี 2554 แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม ผมได้สั่งการให้มีการเฝ้าระวังอย่างต่อเนื่องจนหมดหน้าฝน
  9. Aseannow headlines are often borderline fake news to attract views and comments. You need to dig deeper than these headlines to get the facts.
  10. If that translation makes sense to you why did you bother to post in the first place? You clearly had already used translation software that gave you the same translation. But the real question I have is are you compensated for generating traffic for this site? Each view must be worth some baht paid for by advertisers. Or maybe it was all just to plug an app.
  11. From the article in your link: "TPN media would like to note before listing the measures approved and changes that all of this needs final approval by the Thai Cabinet, who meet to review the proposals tomorrow, Tuesday, September 28th, 2021. After, the proposals will need to become legal orders in the Royal Gazette, and orders that affect provinces, such as easing of restrictions, will need Governor permission. Although some of these steps are mostly formalities, it is important for this to take place. Finally, this is a developing story and some of these items could potentially change based on final meetings with the Cabinet or provincial orders."
  12. I registered through ThailandIntervac.com and the 2nd jabs are done by Bangkok Hospital on Oct. 3 at Central in Khon Kaen. Have you tried this site to check your status? https://it-nurse.bkn.co.th/checkstatus.php
  13. And plural for deer is not deers. But in fairness there is a more complete article in Thai. And in Thai the term ลูก (luke) is used which the Thai use for offspring, humans and animals. The Thai article uses ลูกเก้ง which is literally 'baby barking deer.' Paste ลูกเก้ง into Google translate and you get cub. There are not enough people completely fluent in Thai and English to do all the translations that we read so we should show some patience for imperfect translations or we can learn to read Thai. 14. I agree that this should have been moved to the language forum by the moderators to begin with. But a topic with potential drama in the marriage and divorce forum is sure to generate more traffic than the language forum. 1.4K views at this point, not bad. The Thai in the OP is not that great either, possibly created by a non-native speaker.
  15. Not saying your wife is wrong. The problem is the OP has spaces in the Thai which normally wouldn't contain spaces.I wrote the phrase out without spaces and just asked my wife what she believes it means without telling her what I thought it means. With a grin on her face she told me that if I travel abroad she will have her พี่ชาย (pii-chai, older brother) take her everywhere too. It would be very unusual to call a boyfriend พี่ชาย (pii-chai) and in the same sentence ที่รัก (teerak) Using พี่ (pii) by itself is common though. Maybe the OP guy will return and give it some context. Or he may just be laughing to himself as the topic gains more views/clicks. One post, hmmmm.
  16. I think you're correct that jpg does not handle small faults very well. It sounds like your issue is different from the OP in that he appears to have some kind of a permissions issue.
  17. ไม่มีอะไรหรอก It's nothing พี่ชายพาฉันไปทุกที่ Older brother took me everywhere ที่รัก Darling
  18. The filename and other information is stored in the Master File Table separate from the jpg file so even if the file is corrupt you should still see the filename. From the OP: "Right clicking Properties/Security tells me I have to have Read permissions to view the properties." Have you tried right clicking to check Properties/Security tab for one of the corrupted jpgs? In theory the security information should still be intact in the MFT even if the jpg is corrupted.
  19. If the bank or finance company accepted her as a co-signer for the loan she must have had some assets or was it because of her position at the hotel? As far as the bank is concerned the fact she hasn't any money in her own bank account doesn't prevent her from taking out loans from friends or family or selling off assets to cover the debt she is now responsible for. It's very good news the truck has been found and recovered(?) the buyer should be in that area too if she wants to try and track him down. Personally I think she needs to negotiate what she now owes and put an end to this because the longer it drags on the more expensive it will likely get for her. The lawyer she will be going up against is probably well paid and very experienced in this type of case and she will end up paying that lawyer's fee as well as her own. Maybe that free volunteer lawyer can provide advice as how to avoid going back to court, negotiate and settle instead of trying to get out of paying the debt.
  20. White, plump girls 'poo saao kaao kaao uuap uuap' I think the same type Neeranam is hot for. Check youtube: ผู้สาวขาวๆอวบๆ I still prefer the dark exotic and slutty Isarn gals.
  21. I wouldn't put much faith in what the bank lawyer said, the lawyer is your friend's adversary. I doubt the bank will put too much effort into locating the vehicle since they have your friend on the hook for the money and already in court. I think your friend needs to put a lot of effort into locating the truck buyer and hopefully the truck too. The buyer must have some kind of online presence your friend is aware of like Facebook or Line. Check out the potential contacts/friends/family via the online apps. Thais aren't very good at being loners and disappearing.
  22. The newspaper name 'Naew Na' (แนวหน้า) translates to 'frontline' like frontline troops, closest to the action as well. Pretty much like vanguard.
  23. A checker at the store, young super cute blonde with a great smile is really checking you out. She looks down at the cash register for a moment then looks up checking you out some more smiling beautifully the whole time. Thinking this can't really be happening while trying to suck in your gut she finally tells you that if you're over 60 you can get a senior discount. True story and I was only about 50 at the time.
