"Just slap a house down " 555 If your employing the village builder (in name only) it will be slapped down for sure.
I regret moving from Pattaya to the Rs end of Thailand, I regret having got married, I regret spending as much money as I have on things that are of no use to me...some days. But that being said it's not all bad. Most days I do various things, at a leisurely pace and have a siesta at lunchtime. I've become accustomed to the Thai "Near enough is good enough" attitude so I do as much as I can myself. I've overcome the need to blow the horn and hurl abuse at the idiots on motorbikes realising you can't fix stupid. I cook a lot more, make bacon, bread, bake beans, cinnamon rolls...basically anything that I like not available (or available but poor quality) in the shops. Having a pressure cooker and an oven helps.
This years been harder as we are not travelling. I think the key to farang living in the village is the freedom to take a holiday anytime you want. I'd welcome even a week in Chang Mai right now!

And what happens if they are wrong? If common sense ruled there would be a 21 day quarantine period.

The GSP should be dropped altogether. It's time Thailand realised other countries want a level playing field.

if you thought 2020 was bad, wait until the year of the Ox.
You ain't seen nothing yet.
"You ain't seen nothing yet." Could you elaborate on that statement. I am predicting a bad year ahead based on the tourist industry being destroyed, exports contracting, on-farm income being far less than normal and even more people unemployed in 2021.
You can add something else to my list?

You mock him for having a different opinion to you. Why not be a reasonable man and show proof he is wrong.

Back in 2009 the first thing I noticed when I rented a condo at Cosy Beach was how low the balcony wall was...I looked over and I could see the roof of the foyer and the managers office on level one. I thought to myself if I fell from my second floor condo I would definitely hurt myself.
Luckily I never did! And none of my numerous guests had the misfortune to fall either......

Censorship on social media is way out of line. If some company like farcebook wants people to use their platform then they should accept peoples opinions and let the rest of us decide whether we agree or not.

They go back to the village.
They do and they sometimes stand out like a sore thumb! A couple of days ago I was riding along the lane (out front of the house) going East and there was a crew picking corn by hand on a sloping block, one guy looked like he was dressed for downtown Bangkok! The others must not have bothered to tell him to wear a hat and gloves. The day was cloudy but the sun still gets through and picking corn cobs without gloves makes your hands ache by lunchtime...and your getting hands cut up so by 5pm your wishing you had taken the job slinging she-it at the piggery.
Those pixs of Samui....I was on the island for a week in 2002 and I don't remember any of that! Must have been a lot of changes.

Doesn't that fall into the category of "Bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted"?
And this 90% suck Ces rate is concerning. Even if they did 1000 people a day that's still 100 people with inaccurate results.
And the biggy...it's going to take all day to get the result.'
I am not going to breakout that bottle of champagne we have in the cupboard just yet! ????

I said a while back in another thread Prayuth looked tired or sick. It must be a real struggle to hide how one has amassed a huge fortune whilst being a career army officer. Or could it be sleepless nights because he knows a tap on the shoulder is coming and if he resists a couple of hand grenades will be lobbed through the bedroom window late one night. ????

Heading up to #2 orchard the other day I saw, for a few seconds, what looked like a giant squirrel. In the village we have the regular size squirrels that live in the trees at the end of the lane but this animal was bigger. Reading up on the Bintarong it doesn't seem like it would live in the orchard but it could be travelling to another habitate. But on the other hand I've found diggings that I have attributed to stray dogs that could be Bintarong....maybe. Anyone got any ideas? PS: it was on the ground and swifty moved into the scrub when we passed on the tractor and trailer. The dogs jumped off the trailer and headed over but couldn't pick up the scent.

"It should purchase solar rooftop electricity at Bt2.60 per unit and support installation of panels. " That's a pretty lean rate! Your payback on investment will need to be secured with a 7 or 8 year PEA purchase contract. Will be interesting to see if the bank will finance a small (20kW) installation at our place.
