  1. That's great- good for her. Did she use the firm you posted?
  2. Just wondering how your friend did with interview, or if you heard back-
  3. yeah, sorry I ment 800,000. my mistake. I still don't like the idea of some foreign bank keeping money I can't have access to, that's why I chose the monthly deposits. It cost me $45 to transfer my monthly funds. To me it'.s worth it
  4. thai io wants to see 12 months of transfers from u.s account to thai account for my non-o based on retirement. chose this method because don't want to just keep 80,000 bhat sitting in a thai bank-
  5. not sure, I always wire my funds to my Thai bank account on the 3rd of the month, as that's when my ss gets deposited. Have my daughters phone number for code, then she texts me with code-
  6. yeah, that sucks. guess we'll just keep trying. Just think she's no " spring chicken ", and has strong ties here, why it's so hard- but will keep trying-
  7. yeah, legally married is probably easier. I'm legally separated from wife in the u.s ( she won't divorce because she gets free medical from my retirement), so was thinking about a visa agency this time around. just putting some feelers out there before I decide-
  8. yes it will, I wire my monthly amount . Im office accepts it every year that I renew my retirement. cost 45 us
  9. I'm kinda of in the same situation . My domestic partner of 6 years has been denied 3 times so far. She has own business with family ( 2 gifts shops plus restaurant. 2 homes, rice farm,) over 50 years old. was thinking of getting agency-
  10. thanks for all the input, and info. read somewhere that as long as you have a non o- it shouldn't be a problem, just wanted to check with you guys. Going to check with my IO here in Sisaket before I go, just to make sure- Thanks again-
  11. I'm retired here in Thailand on a non-o based on retirement. I may have to travel back to the U.S to take care of some business. I plan on getting one way tickets as I'm not sure how long I'll be in U.S, then getting one way back to Thailand. My thinking is - since I'm retired here I shouldn't have any problems returning- Any info on the matter would be helpful-
  12. Bought few items om Lazada, couple of shirts, bath towels. However after receiving them , they weren't as advertised. Ordered XL shirts,( they were Medium at best),and 100% cotton bath towels ( maybe 50-60 %, as they don't absorb water like 100 % cotton towels should). I wrote bad reviews . My question should I be worried. Read horror stories about people writing bad reviews about bad service, or bad hotels, and getting into trouble-
  13. yeah, think that's the same everywhere- just was wondering-
  14. Just heard some stirring about schools , and market closing in Sisaket because of covid. We live in the outskirts of town , an have heard of some cases here in our village ( Non Kilo ).
  15. I think last month it was stated that Thailand will not order anymore Sinovac once it's supply runs out-(end of October). Has there been any news online, or government release information.
  16. what is the name of the company that offers that. Have health ins from my retirement in the U.S. , but have to pay here, then get reimbursed. If its only 15k for a year , it might be worth a look
  17. good info- had no idea, guess it's a new trend
  18. Yeah, just think if you're fully vaccinated , Thailand is not requiring quarantines now, sooo what's the point-
  19. Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't heard of any special insurance being required by any other country upon entry-. It seems to me that if your fully vaccinated, and follow masking when in crowded areas rules that would be ok. Am I correct to think that Thai government just wants to collect little extra cash? Ohhh shudder the thought-
  20. they were offered sinovac. I was offered AZ, when I went down to get the shot, found out it was sinovac. waited for Pfizer-
