If you are depositing 65,000 or over every month for twelve months you don't have to keep any money in the bank, if you are using the money in the bank method it is 800,000 baht for two months before extension and three months after, then you can take it down to 400,000 up to two months before your next extension. there is no 80,000 baht rule for anything
yeah, sorry I ment 800,000. my mistake. I still don't like the idea of some foreign bank keeping money I can't have access to, that's why I chose the monthly deposits. It cost me $45 to transfer my monthly funds. To me it'.s worth it

I use the SSc direct deposit function into my Bangkok Bank account each month, it's very smooth and easy plus it's cost effective.
do you have to keep 80,000 bhat in bank 3 months before and after?

why don't you just have SS sent the funds directly to your Thai Bank and save some money
thai io wants to see 12 months of transfers from u.s account to thai account for my non-o based on retirement. chose this method because don't want to just keep 80,000 bhat sitting in a thai bank-

I heard though, even if you have a US address on file that starting this week, you can no longer access your online account from outside the US. Is that true?
not sure, I always wire my funds to my Thai bank account on the 3rd of the month, as that's when my ss gets deposited. Have my daughters phone number for code, then she texts me with code-

An agent won't make any difference with the US embassy.
It's a total cra***p shoot with tourist visas for married or unmarried Thai females.
The CO looks at the unmarried ones who will potentially just disappear and then marry an American down the line.
The married ones will travel to the US with hubby then apply for an adjustment of status to bypass the regular immigration process.
I do understand their dilemma.
To put it in context. My wife has many Thai friends, and only her and one other of her friends entered as legal immigrants, all of the rest overstayed tourist visas and ultimately married American men, or still are illegal.
The fact that there is so much abuse of the tourist visa screws it up for regular folks
yeah, that sucks. guess we'll just keep trying. Just think she's no " spring chicken ", and has strong ties here, why it's so hard- but will keep trying-

Years ago, we applied for a tourist visa to visit my daughter who had just had a baby.
My then long time gf, professional woman, granted leave from work, money in the bank etc etc.
Of course denied.
I vowed I would never again line the State Dept pockets with another cent.
Of course years later when we wanted to move to the US and got legally married, absolutely nothing had changed in our situation, other than a piece of paper, her immigration application sailed through.
I might add, her 'interview' for her immigrant interview lasted about one minute!
yeah, legally married is probably easier. I'm legally separated from wife in the u.s ( she won't divorce because she gets free medical from my retirement), so was thinking about a visa agency this time around. just putting some feelers out there before I decide-

Good to hear. I may keep them then as another option. How have they been to deal with as far as maintaining a physical address in the States?
I use my friends address

When you deal with clerk ask for letter and also make 100 baht deposit.
Explain you want the deposit then followed by letter.
Should be 100+100(deposit) baht.
Regarding bank statement.. which method are you using?
Money in bank? ..should not require bank statements.. photocopies of bank book pages should suffice.
Income method you need bank statements.
Some banks cannot provide bank statements "on the spot" not sure about SCB.
KTB does- that's what I have had for last 3 extensions

thanks for all the input, and info. read somewhere that as long as you have a non o- it shouldn't be a problem, just wanted to check with you guys. Going to check with my IO here in Sisaket before I go, just to make sure- Thanks again-

I'm retired here in Thailand on a non-o based on retirement. I may have to travel back to the U.S to take care of some business. I plan on getting one way tickets as I'm not sure how long I'll be in U.S, then getting one way back to Thailand. My thinking is - since I'm retired here I shouldn't have any problems returning- Any info on the matter would be helpful-

Bought few items om Lazada, couple of shirts, bath towels. However after receiving them , they weren't as advertised. Ordered XL shirts,( they were Medium at best),and 100% cotton bath towels ( maybe 50-60 %, as they don't absorb water like 100 % cotton towels should). I wrote bad reviews . My question should I be worried. Read horror stories about people writing bad reviews about bad service, or bad hotels, and getting into trouble-

yeah, think that's the same everywhere- just was wondering-

Just heard some stirring about schools , and market closing in
Sisaket because of covid. We live in the outskirts of town , an have heard of some cases here in our village ( Non Kilo ).

I think last month it was stated that Thailand will not order anymore Sinovac once it's supply runs out-(end of October). Has there been any news online, or government release information.

yes, that was well expected.
Yearly insurance for $100k is only 15k, but only up to 75 yo and without any underlying. Would cover unlimited international travel to thailand, rather than taking short policies each time, which would work out more expensive.
Would also cover long covid symptoms. One of them sometimes mentioned is impotence and infertility (in male and female)
what is the name of the company that offers that. Have health ins from my retirement in the U.S. , but have to pay here, then get reimbursed. If its only 15k for a year , it might be worth a look

Just a quick search brought up this article on countries requiring covid insurance coverage upon entry. Likely to be many more.....

Yeah, just think if you're fully vaccinated , Thailand is not requiring quarantines now, sooo what's the point-

-
Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't heard of any special insurance being required by any other country upon entry-. It seems to me that if your fully vaccinated, and follow masking when in crowded areas rules that would be ok. Am I correct to think that Thai government just wants to collect little extra cash? Ohhh shudder the thought-

there suppose to be some 6mln the AZ every month.
Also there were 400k and 1mln of the AZ donated from the UK and Japan. British Chamber of Commerce were doing bookings for them - that included also thai citizens. It was back in August, you have missed that.
Also they had chance (and probably still do) to book private moderna at 1350b per shot. Some limited coming already in November.
Moderna, Pfizer, J&J were ordered by the government, but very not likely any will come this year.
In my opinion your girlfriend and her family don't care much of vax, otherwise they would already enrol for many ongoing projects and already had their first AZ. Don't try to make them happy by paying for moderna. Likely they won't take it and it would be wasted.
they were offered sinovac. I was offered AZ, when I went down to get the shot, found out it was sinovac. waited for Pfizer-
