[Thai Consulate Hanoi: Ed Visa Processing Time]

I was in Hanoi 3 weeks ago. I was told to p/u at 16.00 the following day. 

For the record, it was my first extension and the guy was not friendly, really unhelpful and very demanding. Even made me drive back across town to show him my ticket out of Vietnam. Which I obviously didn’t take to show him originally. My bad I suppose, but it was obvious that I just was on a quick  trip and wanted to get back to Chiang-Mai ASAP. I won’t go back to Hanoi next time, will try my luck somewhere else. By the way,  I am mid 60’s, was dressed respectfully and was very polite. Didn’t help at all. Good luck.

[Need Retirement place for 70]

Don’t get it. I’ve been in Chiang-Mai for 2 months and on my pension of 40,000 baht pm I’ve actually got more in the bank than I arrived with...and without scrimping and saving. 

I admit to eating mostly Thai food and drinking Chang beer, but if I want to take a Grab, go out of town for a few days, do some touristy stuff, I’ve done it. My lifestyle here has been unimaginable compared to UK, (plus nobody mentions Brexit!)  I love it here and really don’t want to go back. And I’m a pretty fit and healthy 67yr old.
