Very possible as he is generally very anti west.  Never heard him complain once though when it comes to all the financial help he is given by us.  Wired him last year a lot of money to buy a little farm and not even a thank you could get out of him.

Yea not good that. If you had helped say your wife's parents then they could be excused if there was no thank you forthcoming, as they have their pride and are senior people etc, but this brat has no excuse. I have helped out my wife's sister financially and she couldn't thank me enough.

Just don't give him anymore and wash your hands with him, would be old Jeff's wisdom.

"as long as the virus thingy goes on"

Interesting choice of words. A definite downplay of an extremely critical situation.

Covid-19, aka "The China Virus" is hardly something to be trivialized by referring to it as a "thingy".

Jesus, are you actually being serious? There are some desperately sad people on this forum.

With no chinese tour buses that make up 2/3 of the temple visitors, this is the ideal time to visit SiemReap and the absolutely amazing Angkor Wat complex of temples (Angkor Wat being the biggest but in no way, the most impressive of the huge temple complex scattered around SiemReap).  I would say > Postpone a cancellation decision to very last minute and only do so when Cambodia makes the Risk Country list.

Re the rental house contract on your wife's name, that does not absolve your landlord from filing a TM30 of you staying at his premises.  So normally your local IO should be aware of you living at that rental condo.
For sure they need your address when you apply for an extension of stay, so if you got that extension of stay IO knows where you are residing.

Cheers for that and a good point about the Chinese. Yes I think leaving it to the last min is the way to go.

Don't want to go too deep into visas etc but I don't stay on an extension, so like I say will have a problem for sure if asked at bkk imm for prove of where I stay/live. That is what worries me, in theory if Cambodia isn't on the list I shouldn't be asked, but no guarantee of that of course.

  4. Just looking for a bit of general advice..I am 'slated'  to go to Siem Reap next Friday for 3 days, it's not vital that I go and worse case would lose Bt3.5k on the flight. Now I know that Cambodia isn't on the so called 11 risk countries but I'm now wondering if it is worth the risk/hassle that I 'may' get at immigration coming back in, ie can you be guaranteed to sail through just because you haven't visited one of the 11?

I really wouldn't want to have all the hassle of possible quarantine, filing medical reports etc when it's easily avoided. Also, I rent a house with the contract in the wife's name, so would be difficult for me to prove where I stay if it did come to that?

    Decisions, decisions..

Yeah, what he said. How much is the Porsche 911 Turbo vs the just the plain ole 911? Worth another 30K USD? Of course not. The Hybrid is 7000 baht more than the regular PCX and there is a bump in fuel economy. (I always add that)

I'm trying to rationalize the selling of a one year old Aerox to buy the Hybrid to my wife. It's not working.

    My money. It's cool.  ; )

92k or 99k..does it really matter. Jeez.

When you first come here with many women throwing themselves at us and we all get the idea we are a very prized commodity here. All the women want a farang. I have come to understand though they see being with a farang as a downgrade, and they will accept the downgrade in return for all the riches and wealth they perceive they will get.

Interesting observation that, not sure if I agree though but interesting all the same..

Why in the world would you leave any original document at home even if a check list dont say that you need it.Is it really to heavy to bring all the possible documentation you may have in case they ask for it. Im just tired of jumping when they say so.More fun to pull it out when they are trying to make things hard for you.Until they run out of options and give in.

Folk like you just make things more complex for people...YOU DO NOT NEED ORIGINAL ID CARD AND HOUSE BOOK....it really is THAT SIMPLE...STOP confusing things!
