  1. Ask Trump. He surely knows more about mental state than anybody else. šŸ˜†šŸ˜†
  2. I spent so much money to live here now, but I dont regret it. But in march and april i spend most of my time in the house running Air improving purifiers. However if I previously(1995) had known how bad it will become, I probably would choose to live somewhere else. I can live with it because it is not the whole year, but it is really terrible for approximately 3 months and quite obviously the authorities seems to totally accept it and and also are very passive to really do anything about it. The whole of South Asia is a burning inferno. It has been like this for many years and I really hope that people will stay clear of North Thailand during Songkran, because lack of Tourists is the only thing that might spark authorities to actually do something about it..
  3. We just completed the Visa UK 6 Month Tourist Visa application for my wife. Total cost about 8000 bath. I did it all myself without any paid assistance. 15 pages with all kind of questions like Father/Mother Names and Birth data, any Terrorists/Criminals in the family, and many more weird questions. It felt more like an application for Citizenship. I dont believe that they ever will allow Visa free entry for Thai Citizens. It is nothing but window dressing.
  4. We live in a world that is devoted to serving the rich and privileged, while treating the rest of mankind like garbage. This is valid in all countries today, whether they are capitalist, fascist or name themself as communists, although they totally play by capitalist rules.
  5. I and also my daughter have experienced very bad and incompetent follow up after flight time changes recently. It seems to me that they probably fired competent personell during covid. I never had any problems before covid with Thai and I used them a lot, becoming platinium member. I will not boycott them, but I will avoid flying with them because there are as I see it, several better and also cheaper options, both dommestic and international.
  6. Outbound was most impacted and could take up to one hour according to the article. My daughters friend arrive early morning yesterday. She spent 2 hours to pass the passsport check.
  7. It is a joke. You can buy booze and beer at any time at small shops both in the city and in the villages. The ones in the city, bribes the cops. Some years ago you could by any time, but had to buy at least 10 liter of alcoholic fluid, but they forbid that also.
  8. Before the football team event I went as deep as i could into the cave a couple of times. I parked close to the cave and we were the only people there. I don't think I went any further in than 400-500 meters, because after that i would have to dive to get any further. The caves at that time was listed as an tourist attraction, but we never met anybody else, the 3 or maybe 4 times I was there. Publicity creates value.
  9. It is incredible that they don't understand why tourist spend less. Higher travel expenses and for most tourists less spending money because of higher cost of living in their home countries. That will not change because they have a limit for their expenses. People spend a lot more when they can afford it. Wake up to the reality we live in. They should be happy that people still have the money to travel to Thailand. I booked a trip to Sweden next year in May and it was close to double price I paid last time.. If you spend a lot of time on the travel it was slightly cheaper, but not significantly like before. It seems like TAT believe that all tourists have fat wallet. Dream on.
  10. I hope you recover from your delusional sickness and maybe you can do the cleaning of the condo yourself. The wages here are ridicoulysly low for unskilled workers and should be increased to a decent pay level that actually give them a better living standard. Thailand has improved a lot since I moved here in 1995, especially with regards to health care for the citizens, but not with regards to minimum pay. I come from a country with good living standard, but if you need people to clean your condo you have to pay a lot more than here. But if you really need that kind of service it will be provided for free by the heath authorities if you really need it. I am old and so are my friends and one of them suffered a stroke some years ago, but today can live in an ordinary apartment, because of good care from the health department. If the condo cleaners become too expensive, you will always have the option to move elsewhere, maybe to a native tribe in the Amazonian jungle. I do not know what country you originated from, but most people in the country I grow up in can afford repair men, because they donā€™t suffer with ridiculously low wages like here. Maybe not enough payment to keep household staff, which I donā€™t consider to be a problem at all. To justify the low minimum pay, Authorities say that ONLY 500 000 Thai people are included in that, but also millions of immigrants from neighbouring countries that donā€™t even have the basic rights of Thai residents. Often Immigrants are paid lower wages than stated minimum wage. That means they consider these people are not people, but cattle that should be pleased, with what they get. Your post declares to me that you are a very spoiled individual and based on what you write, you probably consider yourself higher middle class. I also really wonder what socialoids are, because that is a new word in my library but when I look it up on Google it was explained as: Derived from the word Droid , socialoid refers to a robot or android that can utilized for social media activity with a company. Did you have too many shots of Booze when writing the post or maybe it was Socialist you meant? No big deal, because you probably donā€™t know what socialism is anyway; except that it is a word fascist often use to describe everything that does not favour policies that is not in favour of the upper classes an billionaires in a society that you admire, or maybe you just want to be part of an elite which you lack the money and power to be part of. For all I know you can be a retired shoe salesman just like Al Bundy or maybe a Trump cult member, which really would explain your views. Your PERIOD ending was superb, which means no need to comment as you are the chosen one who knows everything . Is your real birth name JESUS from Nazareth? if so, please forgive me doubting you.šŸ˜‚ Finally I like to answer your question: Yes it will still be funny to live here, even if I canā€™t afford to take advantage of cheap, underpaid labour to clean my residence.
  11. Lots of people on this forum with their EU-socialist frame of mind supporting the minimal wage jobs destruction machine. Each +1 euro on the minimal wage means so many thousands of jobs lost. It is well known even to the socialoids, but ideology trumps everything. So the job destruction goes on, more industries delocalize, even the higher middle class can't afford repair men or household staff and end up living a drudging life. Is it funny to live in South East Asia and not being able to afford someone to clean your condo? The market should be left to set the price of goods and services, period.
  12. The PM is only trying to suck up to voters for next election, he dont give a <deleted>. No REAL and justified minimum wage rise will happen. In my opinion minimum wage should be increased to at least 450 bath nationwide with today's cost of living, which is what I consider is a minimum pay, when people work fork for me, and depending on what kind of work it is, often adding 50 -100 bath when justified. Thai people in my experience the 28 years I lived here are really good workers who deserve a reasonable wage for their work. I see in many posts how my fellow farangs complain about how "worthless" Thai workers are. I totally disagree, because I have a lot of experience in my 28 years here and my customer satisfaction is probably close to 95% which i never experienced as that good during the 35 years in Scandinavia. No complaints on the multitude Thai billionaires who suck money from the population, but complaining about ordinary Thai workers is disgraceful. If you are stupid enough to hire family members for projects instead of professionals, the blame is on you and not the unqualified worker, who just want a payment. I never fell into the family trap, which probably is the reason why many farang despice Thai workers. Prior to any job, confirm the workforce is skilled and you will be pleased. If you pay a decent wage you will never have problem with getting a skilled worker when you need it.
  13. I bought a bottle in what the call Fake Laos island in the Golden triangle. Neverer touched it and never will. Is just hidden in a cup board. I would sell it for a good price. My brother and his friends bought the same, but they drank it.
