  1. I was talking about Phuket specifically. From what I understand every office is different. Phuket Immigration Office used to reset the 90 day on extension date (for the past 9+ years for me) But now it's every 90 days no matter what. I think because of online reporting, but who knows. Online reporting is nice. In Phuket there has been a drive thru window for about 5 years, very nice if you have to go to Phuket Town. No parking and no waiting too long. have a great evening.
  2. Yeah, you use the check status button. Brilliant. My initial confusion was that they now do it differently in Phuket, which was confirmed yesterday by another person living in Phuket. Then I got some snarky responses, which wasn't cool at all. I just didn't know it was a different system now. You kind of have to live here to understand the webs and flows of life in Phuket. It's complicated. Thanks. Now I know. You were the first person to suggest that.
  3. 1. That would be great if I knew how to do it. Would you please let me know how I can check on the internet when my next 90 days is due? I went on the online reporting website but couldn't find it. Thanks. 2. For the past 9+ years Phuket immigration has put a slip of paper at the back of the passport with the next 90 day due date. The first time on the extension day. Then every 90 days I would go to the immigration office, or afterwards the drive thru and get a new piece of paper stabled in the back of my passport. On the extension day it resets. Maybe they only do it at the Phuket Immigration, I don't know. This year there was no paper, only a little post-it note when I asked. Thus the confusion. Now I'm doing it online for the past 2 times, and it appears that their system has changed to be actually every 90 days with no reset on extension day. At least that is what I am assuming at this point. We will see.
  4. Yeah, I think I got it all sorted in my head now. The little orange post-it threw me for a loop... The system seemed to change, and they didn't tell me in advance. 🤣 Keeping the brain cells functioning...😅 by keeping us on our toes. All in a day in Thailand. 🤗
  5. Thank you for your assistance. I guess the system has changed, and Phuket is now "modern". hahaha I've only done the online reporting twice. I went back and found the email that reminded me to do the 90 day reporting. It was 14 days before the deadline. I'll keep a lookout for that. In the meantime, I will assume that I am on the "new" system. Thanks again.
  6. I did my extension on March 13. NORMALLY, Phuket immigration puts a 90 day notice in the passport with the extension stamp. And Normally, in the past, the 90 days is 90 days from the extension, at least in Phuket. Immigration has done this Every year for 9 years. I Always check my passport before leaving immigration to make sure everything is ok before I leave. This year there was no 90 day slip in my passport, and when I asked, I got this little hand written note on a post it. (see photo on above post). It was a bit dodgy so I was asking for some advice on this forum so I wouldn't have to go back to immigration and ask. At this point I'm hoping they will send me an email reminder like last time. If not I will drive back to immigration and ask them what to do. I was asking for some assistance. Thank you, but I will sort it out myself.
  7. Look, I shouldn't have said what I said, but there were a few snarky comments. I was talking about Phuket specifically and someone mentioned that he had the same experience in Phuket that I have had in the past. 90 day report 90 days after extension, for 10 years. Then this guy below obviously didn't read my post. Duhhhhhhh really? If he had read my post he would have seen that I DID check my passport and asked for a 90 day slip. This is what I got. Not exactly professional or official. Which is WHY I was asking for assistance in this forum, not to be made fun of. Hey, I thought we were all here to help each other. Mr. Dingdong, please read my post and you will see I did look at my passport before I left immigraion.
  8. I guess you didn't read federicoP comment about his experience in Phuket 1 week before my experience and the 10 years of experience we both have had at Phuket Immigration on this subject. The 90 days was, in the past, 90 days from the extension....IN Phuket. It looks like it changed between March 5 and March 13?? I don't know why I bother asking for help on this forum if people want to criticize my questions and comments.
  9. They had a whole new staff at room 103 March 13. There seemed to be a bit of disarray. (actually more than a bit) I looked at my calendar for the past 3 years and it was always 90 days from extension, June for March extension. I'm hoping I get an email reminding me to apply for the 90 on line. I've only done on-line 2x. I was hoping for an easy answer. 😅 In my dreams. Maybe a Phuket thing?
  10. It's not that I am refusing to take anyone's advice, I have lived here long enough to realize that there are many "answers" to the same question. Especially when it comes to immigration. That was why I was asking this community for some additional advice. Every year my 90 day was in June following the extension when I extended basically on the same day every year. This year May. ? I had questions. If I get an email reminding me to do the 90 days then it will clear everything up.
  11. Phuket immigration forgot to put the 90 day Report Slip in my passport on the last extension and I'm not sure when my next 90 day is due. Here are the details. 1. Did a 90 day on line February 20, 2024 2. Renewed my extension on March 13, 2024. Noticed that the 90 day report slip was not in the passport and asked the clerk for one. She came back with a post-it note with the date May 20, 2024. 3. After a few days I realized that May 20 was about 3 weeks earlier than 90 days from the March 13 renewal. It was actually 90 days from my February 20 report date. 4. Contacted the Phuket Volunteer group and they wrote back: But the 90 day reporting is independent of the extension date. The 90 Day is counted from your last reporting or from your last entry into the country, Whichever comes first. That didn't sit right with me. I looked at my calendar for the past 2 years and it looks like the 90 days reports were 90 days from the annual extension. So my question is, after my long detailed explanation, is when do I need to do the 90 day report? I'd rather not have to drive to the immigration office and ask them if I don't have to. Thanks for any assistance you can give me.
  12. In Phuket when you return from an international trip, you need to go through the drive-through window and have the TM30 address registration paper that is in your passport stamped. Mine has been stamped many times. They say 24 hours, but I went about 10 days after I returned and no problem. Last year, when I was doing the annual extension, the clerk told me I had to file a new TM 30 because it was 3 years old. After I got all the paperwork together, the IO told me it wasn't necessary and just stamped the existing TM 30. So this year I just brought everything. A pain, that's for sure.
  13. Why weren't both of them, Russian & girlfriend, arrested for terroristic threatening with a weapon (baseball bat). From what I understand, the hospital filed a formal complaint and asked for justice. Where is Anutin when you need him. 🤣
  14. I have only read 1 page of comments, but if anyone has read the story that was in The Phuket News yesterday, last week a Russian man refused to pay for treatment and then came back 2 days later and wanted more free treatment. His girlfriend brought a baseball bat and threatened the staff. Police were called and the hospital filed a formal complaint asking for justice. The Russian wasn't arrested (why not?) and just paid his bill. Vachira is NOT an international hospital, it is a public government hospital, and everyone has to Wait Their Turn to get treatment. It is a good hospital, but a public hospital. Prices are supposed to be reasonable. I go to the international hospitals for convenience, and I personally think the prices are reasonable compared to any hospital in the United States. No one should expect Free treatment and when asked to pay pull out a baseball bat and threaten the staff. In my humble opinion,.
  15. You guys are mean. Some elderly tourist comes to Thailand to spend some money and do some sightseeing. He doesn't have a clue about how the heat can affect a person because he is from Switzerland and passes out. You should have some sympathy, he could have died. You & I know better, but a tourist is not as informed. Give the guy a break.
  16. This is so sad. They can't just turn around and go to a 7-11 for their food. They are in their natural arena. The humans aren't. You are not a diver.
  17. I had a friend from Arkansas and she told me exactly how chitlins were made. I had a "stomach ache" for a week just thinking about it. ugh.
  18. Well thanks for posting. Much more info that the local "paper"
  19. Sort of what I posted earlier this morning but for some reason the post didn't "stick". I think this is fake to get comments.
  20. Only a tourist? One of the great quality tourists the government wants? Did this guy go to jail? Is the PEA following up with a claim? Unfortunately, the press never follows up on the details.
  21. I'm not a senile retiree but i have a BKK bank CC, it comes with the caveat of the balance i mentioned earlier. I was joking about being an old senile retiree. I was answering the person who said that the debit card with his name on it was available for people with work permits and pay slips. I have a retirement "visa" so apparently not available to me. Also, when I inquired about a credit card, quite a while ago, the "credit card" available to me was actually a pre-paid debit card, and I didn't want to tie up my money with that product when I already had a debit card, US credit card and US debit card. Maybe the credit card situation has changed since then.
  22. BKK Bank Call center says no problem to get new debit card at ANY branch. Branch says no, cannot. So I refused to go to my original branch and teller made my life difficult. Great Bank. I'd change, but Social Security has an agreement with BKK Bank for deposits and to start all over with new bank after all this time would be a pain as the requirements to open a new account have changed dramatically. So I put up with crappy service. If I were to start all over I would have another account with K bank for regular banking. But back then they didn't have the convenient mobile banking and internet banking they do now to transfer funds. Not going to lose any sleep, I only have to deal with them once in a while. So I hope the original poster has his ammunition when he goes into the BKK Bank to get debit card. Chok Di.
