is it possible to get an agent to hlp me get extension to my 30-day visa expiring in a week (Jomtien)?
I'm not intending to spend a whole day queuing and finding I've not got the right documents.
Any recommended agents?
Is this your first extension or emergency covid extension

what is the news?
They are looking into waiving the overstay fines because BKK immigration has been over capacity for the last few days.

Good news starting to emerge, hopefully all is true.. fingers crossed guys!
It's in their best interest to announce it all before we flood the immigration offices this coming week, 5k visitors a day lol
Just saw it on the Facebook group hope it's true this time and the Jomtien immigration follows suite

[email protected] replied saying:
"At this point, Canadian Embassy are not providing such a letter, however, please feel free to contact them yourself, their coordinates can be consulted on the following webpage."
Can this be used as evidence that it's not possible to get a letter from the canadian embassy. Would IO accept it?
Did you get a chance to speak with the embassy here yet. Someone commented on the Facebook group mentioned here earlier. That the embassy said to him that they don't provide letters but will offer an affidavit. They are saying that it may or may not work with immigration.
At this point I'm not sure if it's worthwhile to go all the way to Bangkok to get this form that may or may not work, seeing how Jomtien purposely making harder for us to stay.

This is the key - they should have flagged earlier they were going to make life miserable, before flights started getting cancelled. Had I known back in Jan or Feb they would be <deleted> about this, I would have chosen another country to visit. I personally will find a way, others may not have that luxury.
About Jomtien, I read elsewhere they need photos of you at your hotel, and in the room? I mean oddball requirements that have never been asked for in the past. I can't even fathom how this is supposed to be of any use to them, aside from making life difficult.
Baht Baht Baht I never coming back to Thailand. After this
Sorry mods im still drowning my sorrows.

Can you please share that number? Also which FB group?
Did they send him the letter via email? Maybe all of us should contact [email protected] and explain the situation.
I'm having a hard time finding the post. But the group is called - Thailand Visa Advice. And everything else -

Canadian embassy emailed me asking for info, again giving differing info that they don't give out a letter that will keep their citizens outside Canada. But they might provide one under exceptional situations.
For people who managed to get this letter successfully what excuse did they use?
The operator lady said to me that the Candian government is urging everyone to come home as soon as they can and that I should just reschedule my flight in May.
But her tune change when I told her that there are 40 something confirmed cases in all of Chonburi and maybe like 4 here in Pattaya. And that I feel much safer here with all the closures and empty streets then being crammed in a plane with 100's of people with nowhere to go if one of them looks down on the weather.
Also, when I questioned her, on her thoughts of the Consulate making people travel 100's miles to Bangkok, where covid-19 is at it worse, in Thailand, instead of just doing everything by email like the US embassy. She said they things are changing everyday and they are looking into simpflying the process. YEAH WHATEVER.
On the sidenote, on the Facebook group that was mentioned a couple of posts earlier. A Candian poster said he had a lot of luck calling emergency line at one of the embassies or Consulates or whatever in Canada. When the embassy here refused him of the letter (sorry I'm a bit wasted now, trying to drown my sorrows 55555) I'll try to find the number later and post it if I can.
But supposedly the office in Canada called the embassy here and had him sorted out in 30minutes.
And yes TextNow - is your friend if I can find the number again (free voip calls to Canada and Us)
I hope the mods don't see this as advertising
Good luck to everyone.

I talk to a couple of company's here regarding Visa Extensions. And been quoted anywhere from 20,000-29000 baht for a 3 month extension without the letter from the Candien embassy. Isn't the max fine 20,000 baht and anything over 90days gets you a one year suspension from entering the kingdom.
Great time to milk people.....

So I just got off the phone with the Canadian embassy in BKK. Phone lady was requesting me to send a email to the them explaining the reason I need to stay. Anyone else get this when talking to them. She was telling me that the Consular Services do not take phone calls anymore

Yes I agree, but given all these uncertainties, only a few days to get this done and the likelyhood that whatever happens we will still be responsible for overstay, etc, I will have to go to bangkok tomorrow.
So far I think there is no canadian that was able to acquire this letter via email.
Wish you good luck tomorrow timoti. I'm a Canadian stuck here too. Just extended my Visa a few days ago after a Visa Run last month. Looks like I'll have to brave a run down to Bangkok in the next few weeks if things don't change. Smacking myself now for not doing a second Visa Run before all the boarders go locked up.

Thanks for all the help everyone.
So I suppose if I want to stay longer my only option is to fly out and back in and start the cycle again. Or do you think a Visa agent can pull any strings for me. Especially now since tourism is suppose to be down 60% because of covid-19
-
So I been here since November on SETV and already did my extension at Jomtien a month back, then a Visa Run a few days ago. I'm looking to extend for atleast another 2 months.
Is it possible for me to do another extension at Jomtien then another Visa Run.
I read on older thread that land Visa Runs are limited to 2 a year but not sure if I can extend at Jomtien based on my run to Cambodia.

Thanks for your comment. The Website seems to be really still have some bugs. Pop-Ups allowed in all my Browsers and Kaspersky deactivated but no pdf is generated! Really crazy! So have to fill out the TM.6 form again manually during landing ????give it a day and try again. Worked for me last time with the birth date glitch.
Good Luck

Hmmmm! Did anybody has success to print out the TM.6 after filling out the form online on the official eTM6Website? I was told that a pdf file would be generated for print out in a new window or tab of the browser. Tried it with Chrome, Internet Explorer and Opera. But no new window with a pdf opened! Any experiences or further advices??
The immigration site seems to have whole bunch of little glitches. A few days ago it kept on adding a day to my birth date when generating the PDF, but eventually worked itself out.
The only thing that comes to mind that may cause this is if you have a pop-up blocker installed, but honestly I think its the site itself and the only solution is to wait for it to work itself out.
And don't try saving the PDF file. It gets saved as some weird text file that is not legible.

Thanks guys. I saw long term in the tittle and automatically assumed it was on contract.

Can some recommend a plan. I need it for 2 months.
Doesn't matter which carrier. I just need something I can stream some HD shows.
Unlimited would be great, but don't think there are any of those plans anymore right?
-
Has anyone here ran into this problem. Was trying to fill-out the Arrive - Departure card on the Immigration website https://extranet.immigration.go.th/eTM6Web/
and for some reason the page keeps on adding one day to my my birth date. When I confirm that get the printout.

Perhaps its an(other) example of a totally incompetent IO online service - wouldn't be the first time I suppose?
How did you find the site to start with then?
After reading about the App here I googled tm6 online and it was the on the search page.
So this one you posted is official?
https://extranet.immigration.go.th/eTM6Web/
Do I have to print it out and carry it with me or logged into their system?

I am little suspicious about that site. I have not seen anything about it before. Nothing about it on the immigration website.
I would expect a official immigration site to be a .go.th site not a .net site.
I had the same concern about the sites legitimacy. On top of what you said. there are also no links to any other Thailand Immigration websites, which I found strange.
It just seems to be a single page portal to upload your information
33 minutes ago, MJKT2014 said:You just joined TV 18 hours ago and posting a link for people to upload pp details? Hum?!
And that is why I joined and asked.

If you don't have mobile data then do it at home before you leave for the airport.
It seems to work OK. It pulled data from a passport scan and I could progress through to the last stage before actual submission. I hope the airport staff are aware of it.
So when the form is completed is copy of it sent to your email with the reference number.
Or is just in their system.

Has anyone used this online form to fill out their TM6 cards.
<link removed>
From what is written on the bottom, no print out is needed and you just get a reference number
unlike the app that is mentioned here
