All TOU meters here are replaced by the digital one. The flat rate consumers still have the spinning wheel version but eventually will be replaced in the future.

I've read that PEA planned to change -all- meters in the Pattaya region to 'smarties'.

Perhaps others have had or can expect the same.

    And it is..

What does the white button do in the top right corner?

I will be sure later, but can say mostly they are for displaying status but which one I am not certain.

Mine is rotating trough all the usage information and when I push the button  (there are 3 on mine, colored green) it shows the voltage -and- turning on the backlight.

Will post more information, also about the other meter posted and mine which is an AMR (brand) meter used by MEA.

I have the DVD and I love it, from the pants scenery to the unbelievable robot ( wonderful ). The special effects were really bad, but it had a plot and wasn't PC. I saw it as a child and it stayed in my mind. It may not be the best movie ever made, but it lifted my imagination to the stars.

Not having the DVD but did see it as child, and when it was aired again later I recorded it to tape.

When I watched it again, it felt a bit different as I had grown up so the eyes more focused on the effects and indeed compared with the years of production it was low. But still got the warm feeling from the 'remembrance'. Will always love that robot with antennas in his head.

Funny thing is that Leslie Nielsen has a role in that film, which I didn't knew.

I start like him and movies he is playing and only to knew many years later when internet was there and I first saw the cover that he DID play in Forbidden Planet.

I like movies that leave me happy, not depressed, so almost everything by Studio Ghibli are my favorites of all time. I'm just sad it took so long for me to discover them.

    ???? Agree!

I had Howls Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away when I start looking for the makers and then found out about Studio Ghibli. Great content!

Have added Lupin, Nausicaa of the vally of the wind, Ponyo, Porco Rosso, The Cat Returns and Whisper of the Heart, since then.

Check your page zoom setting is 100 percent.  I changed mine and the website was unusable.

Funny thing is that the issue is present when the zoom setting is at 100% , but do disappear when I zoom to 90%

Your suggestion reveals that Richcor could be right, that there are different CSSes in the game which positions the fields on the screen in the wrong manner.

Issue doesn't manifest in CHROME or ChEDGE

    Confirmed in Win10 FireFox 80.0.1

from the screen background color and icon placement I suspect the two are using entirely different CSS declarations

Member Johnray is very close to the issue.

My zoom level is normal, 100% .

BUT when I changed the zoom level to 90% .. no overlap !

Is it the same with you?

So.. definitely a thing for the web makeup department of TVF ????

Metro, can you please say what type of device and which browser you're seeing this in?

    Sure thing.

Firefox Quantum 69.0.2 on Windows 10 ([Version 10.0.18362.1016]).

It's not bothering in any way, just noticed it.

EDIT:  I've just opened Firefox 80.0.1  and the phenomena is exactly the same, so it's not the Firefox version to blame.

why many farangs here THINK they are better than other farang TOURISTS?

just because they got their visa easy, does not mean that other people can

even with money in the bank and have to go to crooked AGENTS with IO in their pockets

I think the extortion price is even going up more as we near 26 september...

I was quoted 55.000 baht 3 months ago and now I am reading 70.000+ baht for useless fake volunteer visa's that are not connected to any real NGO as you need a work permit to volunteer

The question is this ?  What type of Visa were you on when you came here, and if you have chosen to stay here long term, why do you need to try and obtain a visa or extension that is more than likely fraudulent more than if it was legitimate by having to pay.  It seems to me that you either have some issue regarding funds, your under 55, your not married to a Thai, or one of many other types of people who find it hard to stay legitimately in the country without having to post up an exorbitant amount of money.  Options are many if you truly have the funds at your disposal.  Just do the right thing and stay off the radar.

your under 55, your not married to a Thai, "

There are many solutions for retirees and those who have legal family here (marriage , children, spouse with visa,..)

But there are also select groups who get semi-issues like one with ME visas depending on border crossing.

And then there are the groups who are here on Non-o (volunteer) visa in a legit way, but their visa and extension expired during the amnesty simply on the fact that extensions are given maximum 3 times 90 days.

One year after their arrival in Thailand they are supposed to leave Thailand to obtain a new non-O (volunteer) visa.

I'm one of them, with valid and legit workpermit and volunteering for an association.

1 . can I sell my electric to the grid ?
    2. I am in Military Condominium of house and they have special Electronic meters
    3. In France they have one meter for electric push to the Grid and an another one to by electric from the grid is it the  case in Thailand ?
    4. nothing has been done do I have to register/pay/inspection  to the electric company
    5. I don't want to install batteries too expensive

    3) very few people get approved so not much information.

I can confirm that the newly installed electronic meters with LCD has internal separate counters for the usage in both ways.

The display here on the meter (TOU, double tarrif) rotates showing all values; date, time, kwh import peak, kwh import offpeak, total import,  export peak, export offpeak, total export.
Extra information can be called by pushing the green button. (voltage, amps,..)

All TOU meters here are replaced by the digital one. The flat rate consumers still have the spinning wheel version but eventually will be replaced in the future.

  10. Good comments, hopefully for the OP too.

For me I think it is good to get a usufruct.

Not married, and not plan to marry by law but Thai marriage.

I bought house, paid from my bank to the previous owner.

The transfer was put on the name of the mother of my GF.

If the mother dies, GF will inherit it.

For me, I would protect my 'right' of stay in the house especially if something would happen to my GF.

What i have invested; if after 30 years I get nothing in return it is not a big loss.

Till now she was talking about, which I never understood, is 'nominee'.

If something would happen with her, like she dies, and mom too, then the family (nieces) could claim the house but they would put on hold with the help of people around me who can testify that I am living in the house and did buy it for 'my family, that's GF and her mom/dad (which has passed away already)'

@Susco That says it is a 1 storey house in Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Bang Lamung, Jang Wat Chonburi.

And it does say 'Park Rung Rueng'.

Big housing areas , mostly gated, does have the 'condo company name' as the name of the moo-ban.

Maybe from there came the mis-understanding that the condo company name was on the tabien baan but just coincidental as it is the name of the block.

Thanks for replies. I rechecked it, comparing it to my wifes. I think what's happened is I only had the first page of it which doesn't have the names of residents or whatever like the other pages do.

I don't have those pages but he will probably give me a copy if I ask.

Do you have the yellow tabien ban with your name in it?

The first page is the house page with the details.

Peoples are in the following pages.

The owner of the property is not always in the tabien baan, only if he/she registered as living there.

The owner is on the deed.

In the Tabien baan you can see who is the house master (Chao baan) but not the owner if he/she is registered elsewhere.

If the ''name of the condo company'' is in the book, then it is registered with the name of the legal juristic person of the condo company.

Not the name of the condo company itself. Maybe the condo company carries the name of the person.

  13. The right way of measuring the earth/ground is in two steps.

    First is measuring the ground rod ;

    The meter has 3 connections, E P and C.

The E probe on the electrode (ground rod that's hammered into the ground for your installation)

and the P connection to an probe at 10 meter from the electrode/rod

and the C connection probe in the ground 20 meters from the electrode/rod.

Second step is either measuring between the ground rod and the earth/(incoming neutral) busbar in the CU as two point measuring

    OR

leave the two probes in the ground and move the E probe to the CU and compare with the first test.

All data given, results should not exceed the 5 Ohms.

  14. Same boat but slightly different sails.

Want to put myself on the Chanote, -usufruct- is the thing to do as I understood.

Townhouse, land and home are on the same deed, unmarried but not for long (actually the plan was this year but then along came C19).

Only difference is , home already bought, and it's in GFs mom her name.

At time of transfering, years ago, this was put on table but wiped away as  'cannot'.

Now I know, they were thinking about different things. (split home and land and put home in my name) And I didn't know the existence of the 'usufruct' and that it can apply on anything, even combo land+home.

    Comment if I am wrong.

    Comment if you have experience.

Comment if you have templates/sources in both Thai and English (not pointing to those law firm websites)

  15. As it is an DELL, try the diagnostic utility.

On older PC's it's built in, F12 at boot when your DELL 'successfully' starts.

I have DELLs here too, same issue but won't boot at all. Only staying off.

Got a PCI diagnostic card, which was delivered to me with damaged attached LCD but has onboard LEDs which giving me some details.

Issue with one of the Dell here: The onboard power feed 'led' was lit softly, so mainboard power feed issue.

That PCI diag card I'm not using, and in fact I got a replacement from the seller with good LCD , which is all in Chinese 555 but giving the same information as the leds.

If you want that PCI diag card, it's yours.

    - Make a bootable USB stick (Ex.: RUFUS) with MS-DOS on it (I like to use the old DOS 5.5.).

Any particular reason for 5.5 ? Out of curiosity.

I'm using MSD6.22 and the 7.1 CDU on newer machines.

Both with 3rd party additionals like Q.
