I think 3 times last year the supermarket I frequent often was accepting cash only coz the system was down. No cash meant an hour or more wait. People should always have more than one payment option which includes cash.

Some posters have claimed to try that already on other threads, but have been told, "there's no need to file!"

The Doom & Gloom merchants might say: a) you don't have a tax form so you can't extend your visa again. b) you don't have a tax form so you can't have a bank account anymore. These will 'probably' not happen however.

All gone in Bangkok Villa & BIG C for a few weeks now. Could it be cargo problems? Anyway, too hot for tea atm.

Lots of good advice above. Attitude is very important. Stay calm & walk slowly. Failing that, buy a Rottweiler & Alsatian.

I have a few small tattoos. Each to their own. It's funny (sad) how much women in bars have changed so much over the past 3 decades. 30 years ago hardly any tattoos. Now most have tattoos, loads of piercings, dyed hair & smoke.

Nowadays take a taxi as infrequently as possible. Today not cheated but as soon as I told the old, miserable driver in Thai to take the short cut instead of the main road he just moaned nonstop, wouldn't take me into the condo parking, just said get out here you can walk. No thanks of course when I paid him. Talk about customer service. 👎 Walk whenever I can.

Bangkok Bank put my address in English on a bank statement for me so I could use it for my new UK passport application. No problems at all.

Used to take a taxi every day, but now walk as much as I can & sometimes a motorbike taxi. Got fed up just sitting in traffic or at red lights. Once in a while I would notice a really fast running meter too. 👎

You don't see that many stray dogs in my area of Bangkok these days, but cats, that's a different story. They're all over the place with some kind people feeding them daily.
