  1. Do you have a link for that onward-flight option? Can't go wrong at that price...
  2. It looks like Sino Thai were indeed awarded a number of Contracts on the Orange Line. Who would have thought? https://mrta-orangelineeast.com/en/consultants
  3. GBP/THB is tied to USD/THB.. Whatever the USD/THB exchange rate is, multiply by GBP/USD rate and you get the GBP/THB rate, simples.... The USB/THB has fallen from 38 to 32 in 6 weeks or so which in turn weakened GBP/THB..
  4. The new station will be officially open 19Jan2023.. Richard Barrow has written a good article about the station, train timetables etc. Apparently the train station is the largest in SE Asia, so it must be pretty big. Station constructed by guess who's family? Yep, Sino-Thai.... Nice 34 Billion Baht Project.. budget.. https://www.thaitrainguide.com/2022/12/20/heres-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-opening-of-bangkoks-new-terminal-train-station-on-19-january-2023/
  5. Have a feeling that Anutin will be wearing his flip-flops on Tues when everybody is back to work after the New Year break... Will Thailand update it's stance towards Chinese tourists and implement measures now taken in many western countries?
  6. I believe that Imm is closed on Fri 30th Dec? Somebody told me last night that Imm is also closed on Wed 28th Dec? Can't see it listed anywhere..
  7. Air getting very bad again this past week. In San Kamphaeng my PM2.5 machine was reading 70 when I took the dog for a walk at 10pm last night (Mon 19th Dec). Plenty of red flags in various parts of Chiang Mai this morning... https://aqicn.org/map/chiang-mai/
  8. Just found this thread, interesting reading as I'm looking for a Health Insurance Provider and WRLife is often mentioned by fellow Expats. My concern, as noted by others, is WRLife's Claims Settlement history. On the subject of AIS, I noticed that 3 of the WRLIFE LLP Officers listed at Companies House London have the AIS Office in Bangkok listed as their correspondence address. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/OC401682/officers
  9. Can somebody recommend a place in Pattaya to get travel insurance for a trip back to the UK. Policy would need to be for 60-90 days. Prefer to have travel insurance rather than rely on the NHS for any treatment. Friends back in the UK state there are lengthy wait times for many procedures, so private would be the way to go if insurance pick up the tab...
  10. Mickey, have you filled in this form before? Apart from attaching copy of my passport, yellow house book, is there anything else?
  11. Agree Joe... I was always under the impression that if you were returning to your main residence, in my case stayed at the same house for the last 8 years, then it wasn't necessary to fill in this stupid form. What's the point if you are already telling Immigration where you are staying on the 90 day report...
  12. Just had my 90 day online rejected, reason Contact immigration to update the (TM30) accommodation notification to date. The last declaration of accommodation (TM30) is not xxxxxxx. XX is my main place of residence. I went away for a weeks holiday a few months ago, I wasn't aware that the owner filed a TM30. Can TM30 be done online? Do I need any input from my wife? I have a yellow book, will copy of that suffice? I'm loathe to go in person to Immigration so hoping that it can be done online. Also if I go in person, no doubt they will fine me? I haven't filled in one of these TM30 forms for a long time. Bloody pedantic from immigration as they can clearly see from my reporting history for the past 5 years where my main abode residence is. Cheers...
  13. Very high AQI readings in Chiang Mai today.... Seems surreal to have the air cleaner switched on in October!!! https://www.iqair.com/th-en/thailand/chiang-mai
  14. I have been getting very good coffee from Siam Great Coffee for over a year now. No complaints about the quick delivery and reasonably priced. I personally always get 1KG of Extra Expresso. It's delivered as (4) 250g vacuum packed bags. Delivery is normally 2-3 days... https://shopee.co.th/????เหมา-1-กิโล-ราคาพิเศษ-315฿-????-เมล็ดกาแฟดอยช้างคั่ว-Extra-espresso-หอม-คั่วค่อนข้างเข้ม-i.15352490.1386751977 they are listed on Lazada also...
  15. San Kamphaeng hospital are doing Pfizer injections on Mondays 8-11AM. They even give you an updated CV19 certificate whilst you are waiting due to the compulsory 30 minute vital signs check post injection.
  16. What are the current prices for Sayuri? Pre CV19 it was 1,200 & 2,000 for the "Models" for locals. I speak Thai so won't get conned into paying the tourist prices...
  17. Sept 01, Gen. Prawit gave his personal assurance to reporters that there will be no recurrence of the disastrous flooding from 2011 this year..... Classic foot in mouth comment...
  18. Chiang Mai VFS has a very short window for appointments. This email address is ONLY for booking an appointment to submit a passport application in Chiang Mai office. You’ll need to schedule an appointment by email. Include your first name and last name and 3 alternative dates and times from 13:00 to 14:30, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday except public holidays (Local Time). You will receive an email confirming your appointment.
  19. In Chiang Mai VFS only has available appointments Tues-Thurs. I was waiting 2 weeks for appointment. You can skip the wait for an appointment if you go through an agent. 5,000 Baht appears to be the agent fee from what I have seen on Facebook...
  20. Hi Joe, you're normally correct on visa matters but according to the UK travel advice office you need 6 months remaining on passport. Hence my wondering if you have an annual visa then it's okay? https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/thailand/entry-requirements
  21. Will Immigration/Airline knock you back with less than 6 months remaining on your passport even though you have a Non-O (Retirement) Visa with a Multi Exit/Re-entry stamp?
