  1. 3 young women from Nigeria taking a holiday in Thailand? It's not cheap.
  2. Did OP say 4 Km/H ? That's like 2.5 mph over ! I don't think they can see that closely. Over here in the States tickets basically start at 10 mph over, in most cases.
  3. Not sure if these are the same units, but in Iraq they (the Iraqi recipients of US $) had these contraptions which were basically shoe boxes with coat hangers sticking out. And we had to wait at the check points. Check point are among the most dangerous places to be. They were bought at something like a couple hundred K each. A big scam. Around 2008. UK made I think.
  4. Fentanyl and Meth is epidemic here in the U.S. now. Pounds and pounds caught daily at the Mexico border. Zombies in the street across the nation and crime at record levels.
  5. We woke up this morning (in the States) and it's sold! Hummin, you're right of course about the Durian/Mangostein. It has about 20 small Durians growing already and a bunch of other fruit. 100 Km from Rayong though, is it really supposed to cost 68K USD for half an acre (1.3 Rai)? That seems like maybe I'm not doing the math right. 68K buys a lot of land if it's an hour out of any town here.
  6. I am being asked to look at a lot in/near Rayong. They want 2.3 million and it's 1.3 Rai (1900 SQM?) so about 1200/SQM. Klaeng District. There are some fruit trees it and has a pond. Roads all around. Not much to go on, a relative lives in Rayong and she's going to look at it. From my first checks it looks to be in the right price range. I've seen larger lots on DD for about the same price like 14 Rai for THB 30,000,000. I am digging for more info now. Thanks TV/Aseannow.
  7. Hello All, I have the same question. My Stepdaughter lives outside BKK and her 10 yo son is coming to live with her from the Village. I looked into Int school but not a good fit, at least right now. So our daughter rents a place. Will the son be able to enroll public school there in the suburbs towards the airport? I think he is in grade 4 now but school has been out there for over a year. Thanks for any advice.
  8. When I came in in January from the US, they took a long look at me and my passport and then they took my picture. Everyone, even the Thai people got this. This was on the 1st Test and Go before they suspended it.
  9. I arrived Jan 9 after getting the ThaiPass in early Dec. Amber Hotel Pattaya. Got to BKK Airport at about 10 pm (from ICN) and got through the check points (ThaiPass mainly, I think they looked at my Vax cards). Insurance.. - At the hotel at 2 am they had a testing station so we tested. Results came back about 11 am next day. Nice. I did the day 5 test at Nong Rang out in Issan, had to test one day and go back the next. Upon leaving we had and ATK RT to get back into the US. We did this at the Holistic Health Center in Naklua. Good deal there, 450 bht each. Korean Air approved us to go. We got lucky by getting our TP approved not long before the ban. But they kept their word, we were Grandpa'ed in.
  10. I was not going to mention this as it appears it's too late, but there is/was an email to send to and inquire. Supposed to wait 5 days before sending. I emailed after 4 days and received the TP later that day. This was back in early December however. I think I emailed to here - [email protected] I am still trying to figure out if I can enter on Jan 9.
  11. I have my ThaiPass since back in early December. I arrive in BKK - Sun, 9 Jan, 2022, 23:00. I think that Test & Go with 1 night ASQ is good through Jan 10 ? I sure hope so. Also 2 Thai citizens are traveling with me under the same arrangements. ASQ hotel is in Pattaya and I know people who have done it there. I am looking for where I saw the Jan 10.
  12. They picked her up from BKK and took her to the hotel - Amber hotel pattaya. She's going to Rayong so this was good. 5000 BHT for a nice room, papers of AQ and 1 meal. It worked out pretty good. She had the Thai Pass which I did back here in the US. Got approval in less than 48 hours.
  13. I did end up contacting the hotel, have to have hotel booking anyway for Thai Pass. Evidently no insurance is needed for Thai nationals so we put in her Thai passport. The hotel said usually the test comes back in 3 - 12 hours and done. I am curious if there is any way to check on the status of Thai Pass. At the end it says waif 5-7 days for a confirmation email.
  14. My wife has to go back from the U.S. to Thailand for family reasons. She is saying that if she arrives in the morning, I guess prior to Noon, that she would need to stay just one night. But, if she arrives later, like after Noon, she may have to stay two nights? I'm searching all over, probably our best bet is to get her on the phone with the hotel. I'm on the Thai Pass site now and you have to have your flight/hotel booked already to complete the Thai Pass. Thanks in advance! Tango
  15. As nearly always the problems arise from some people wanting something for nothing, a free lunch if you will. Look, if you can't make money in America, where on earth do you think you are going to make money? I know more than a few people here that have more than one job. Meanwhile I am in FedEx yesterday and mention that it's lucky they have treated their drivers well for the last 20 years. The counter agents tells me they are shortening their hours this week because they can't get workers. For those outside the US, any FedEx job is a pretty good job. We know why people are not working, they're getting free money from the 20% of us that pay taxes through the Govt. For those outside the US, 20% of taxpayers pay 80% (more really) of the taxes. As said initially, it's the something for nothing crowd and there are plenty of them in Govt also.
