Here's a trick to get past the ban. Rub your hands with sanitizer which mostly contain more than 70% alcohol - that's more than any liquor on the market - then suck your thumb.
Not as good as a cold beer but better than nothing.
Almost as good as my recipe for Irish coffee:
1 cup boiling hot water
6 shots of of Listerine original
2 tea spoon instant coffee
half tea spoon brown sugar
Everything is awesome~

a glass of wine would have been nice
Totally agree.
Next week is my bloody birthday and I can't even buy a bottle of red wine to share at home with my wife.

If there is a gate in front of your house, will the drivers throw the packages over the gate? Or will they just not deliver the package
Most neighbourhoods have a security guard with some type of boomgate.
It's common visitors need show their driver licenses and get a docket to be stamped by the person in the neighborhood they visit. The delivery drivers would usually leave the parcels with the securityguard if there's no one home.
Power outtages hasn't been a major issue though it does occur somtimes as well as some water outtages. That's why many houses have spare watertanks with a pump if the main water is down. Our watersupply goes down like 6 months a year..between a few hours to a couple of days. But overall its not a factor to deter one from moving into a house imo.
Straydogs is an issue
(I can boast that I was bitten by a rabies dog, a bat in the south, and scratched by a 6 month old Tiger (as in Panthera tigris) in the same week. kid you not. but I digress. So in my case I taken the rabies shots so I now fearlessly walk among the stray dogs)- 2

You said 'Everyone walks to the beat of their own drum and do not need to be told what to do'
They DO NEED to be told what to do when it comes to driving, or mudering their family, or raping young girls, or taking yaba, etc etc.
Nothing to do with the price of tea in China.
I don't think my comment against a permanent alcohol ban advocated neither removing Law of the Land nor Anarchy lol

From what you say, is that why people ride their motor bikes on either side of the street?
What's that got to do with the price of tea in China. That's a stretch mate.

is that why the monks are so selfish and make no contribution worth talking about to Thai society, apart from selling meaningless junk to gullible people?
maybe crucify them and find out, it worked in the past.

They should extend the ban forever. Introduce permanent alcohol prohibition. Thailand is a Buddhist country and Buddhists aren't supposed to drink alcohol. If alcoholic westerners can't do without their drug fix, they can move to Cambodia or Vietnam instead. The quality of western tourists in Thailand will then increase massively.
The Buddha based all his teaching on freedom of choice.

How old are you,14? Can't you decide yourself? Why ask here at TV?
indeed. TV has been going for quite a few years, we're reaching a point where all topics have been saturated.
I need more challenging material and questions to comment on.

it's that simple, there's no covid, no visas, job worries, or any other considerations pertaining to international relationships.
What a pathetic attempt at justifying shagging some else's Missus.

At the end of the day, all we have is character.
Be above it and resist it. Once the deed is over you don't want to look yourself in the mirror and see a weasel who just slept with someone else's wife. She's taken and there are plenty of others. No need to become another soulless scumbag just because you like women.
What comes around, goes around.

Given how hard it seems to be awarded a PR in Thailand it's just beyond belief there's still a separation between residence and permission to work.
BOI still need to make an assessment whether to grant a work permit to the PR holder each time the applicant change jobs.In cases where the applicant attempt to change careers it's by no means assured to that the updated work-permit is approved, quite the opposite.
Getting a PR would be the stepping stone towards a citizenship, but the latter would obviously be a whole new battle.
Now I ASSUME one would have working rights as a CITIZEN, but given this is Thailand, I almost can't be sure.
Maybe there's yet another label 'foreign born' citizen v.s 'native born' citizen ? I hope not, but who knows. When I got my PR to Australia, the Mayor shook my hand and gave me a pint of beer in the city hall - true story.
Couple of years later and the Aussies threw a passport my way and I didn't even need to marry or escape from war to get it. I just had to work my butt off to get it as a skilled migrant. Now that's what I call a fair country!

Rather that the virus can remain airborne after certain hospital procedures and that needs to be studied.
The article states : ' The coronavirus can go airborne' . That's a direct quote from the 4th paragraph from the top.
I simply regurgitated it and shared the link.
Actually, almost all viruses are airborn with many of the infections come from droplets floating in the air.
Feels like I'm exchanging thoughts with Ned Flanders here, gimme a break.

I noted Papayawatch latest instagram post (tic toc video snippet). As I can make out in the video post from their counter are some 7 submariners and 10 Explorers all tightly stashed next to each other in small bags with some bezelguard on them to prevent damage during shipping. There's no comment so not sure what the deal is, but gee posts like that do them no favours, just seems too good to be true for skeptics like me.
I've decided to spend a year pursuing the waiting game with the ADs post virus apocalypse.
I'm sure if I serve Buddha a lotus flower and some red Fanta in the temple he'll grant me a Pepsi in return soon enough.
Thanks for the replies and tips ????

I bought a Rolex last Week from these guys www.watchbyladda.com , they are on chrono24 since 2016 , was pleased with my purchase and the service provided , was very sceptical at first , this being Thailand , but everything proved to be above board and the watch was perfect.
Another thing, if you don't mind me asking. When you bought it, did you rely on your own experience to check it under a loupe to determine it's the real deal.
Or it was more the overall impression and research that made you conclude it's all good. Or did you do anything else like trying to contact the previous owner on an original warranty card or anything? I guess one could take the watch to an AD after buying it at watchbyladda for a service to get a confirmation as well. Or did you take it apart and check serials number and so on? -

For popular sports models you have a better chance of buying one through reputable re-sellers in Bangkok (rather than the AD's) such as Papaya Watch (in Central World & MBK) and Cherry Watch. They update their current stock daily via their instagram accounts. They sell both new and used items.
On 20th March Papaya Watch listed a Pepsi with jubilee band (new 2020) for 5xx,xxx baht.
yea I had my eyes on Papaya on instagram, my only hesitation is that they're not listed on Chrono 24 which is surprising. But, could be a language thing and they're not comfie liaising with english speaking buyers online..not sure. very interesting stock.

You've got almost no chance. It's no different in Thailand than in Europe or the US: Sports models are almost never on display and they are for back order only. You may find a 114060 Submariner or something similar if you are lucky.
Pepsi's, Batman's, Hulk's, James Cameron's, etc - never seen one in stock. And why would they be when they are worth more on the grey market than they are in the ADs?
ouch...thanks for your reply ????

of course there is still some exception and i am sure your is ''different''
Funny describing a non-prostitute as "different"
Overheard at your family gathering back in the old country:
'Everyone, Steve got himself a wife from Thailand, this is Nok everyone.'
'Hi Nok.'
'Welcome to Manchester!
'Khop khun ka~'
'Oh and Nok is different too arent you Nok?'
'Ka'
'How so?'
'Well you see, she's NOT a prostitute!'
(people cheering)
Uncle Bob: That's splendid! A toast perhaps!

Yes you are hearing that right, although some of them earned enough money to leave the areas of prostitution, start their own business and still speak good enough English to find a western man without ever revealing their past
It's like I'm exchanging thoughts with a backpacker on Kao San road and the year is 1990.
It's unfortunate your experiences have lead you to believe that.
I first rocked up to Thailand in 1995 when I was 22. I can assure you this isn't the case.
My wife earn 6 figures a month and many of her friends too, working for companies like Johnson and Johnson etc.
The assertion that it's all just a facade and the're all prossies when it comes down to it is completely false and based on a stereotype e.g 'The Thai' hooker.
This is a rather old and boring topic, as you were solider and good luck.

Am I hearing this right? Most expats have partners who are or have been working as a prostitute?!
That would be like me calling all Britons uneducated football hooligans covered in tattoos who only congregate around Soi 4 Nana or in Pattaya.
Depends on what circles you socialise in my naive little friend.

Thailand to allow alcohol sales after three-week ban: officials

I noted Heineken's non alcoholic beer also have been removed from our 7 Eleven despite it's advertised as containing 0% Alcohol.
Why not remove all soft-drinks by that rationale- keep it safe.
