Do the math! 1B divided by 17,000 tourists is approximately $1900 USD per person. take 335,000 hotel nights at an average of $100 USD/night and that’s approximately $1400 (assuming 14 nights since domestic air travel is grounded). So outside of hotels, the local economy received $500 (divided by 14 days) or $35/day in tourist income. We’ll BUST MY BUBBLES! FANTASTIC! Time to go shopping for a YACHT! WHOOPPIE!

The Big question remains…. WHY would anyone want to travel to Thailand with all of the restrictions and massive Covid Outbreaks when they can travel elsewhere without having to jump through all the hoops? When I asked many friends are you coming to visit Thailand this year, the answer was a flat out NO! They said they look at 2024 when things return to normal. When I was in Bangkok at the Beginning of July, I witnessed clinics overflowing with ExPats, with their entire families, waiting to take their PCR Tests in order to get on a plane out of Thailand. Most of them said, they’re not considering returning for at least a few years. They’re safer in their own countries. I guess that sums it all up.

I think Everyone here is being a little short sighted on this subject. The JEDI will restore Order and Peace to Thailand, once they finish fighting General Grievous, Count Dooku, and the rest of the clone Army. At least that’s what the Gov’t is counting on.

I believe that biggest problem the Gov’t faces is that NONE of them speak ENGLISH Fluently. Therefore, if someone were to post that “everything in fine for the ones that are dead”, the Gov’t will interpret it as “Come to Thailand, bring your money and DIE and everyone will be happy”. That’s the real problem. Comedy and Sarcasm doesn’t cross the Pond. It’s like talking to a DOG. What you say, what you think he heard, and what he does are totally different.
