[Most reliable flight to Europe?]

As end of amnesty is getting near it is time to plan the trip back to Europe as there are no other open destinations nearby.

 

Daily cancellations are still very high for inbound/outbound flights, what seems to be the most reliable route/airline to book in advance from Bangkok to any destination in western Europe? (which airline to avoid?)

I suspect prices will skyrocket as planes are getting filled up around the deadline date, so I would prefer to book asap.

I have 5 years experience farming Thai crickets and can confirm it is a good business which has made my Thai girlfriend's family financially stable without needing any support.

 

 

When we first met I was quite curious about the small existing cricket hustle they were doing from home as the picture above. they had a total of 11 "cricket-circles" which provided a total of between 25-40kg at 130 THB/kg (3250-5200 THB) of crickets per month. They had no problem selling everything every month and the demand far outweighed the supply.  

 

Knowing the numbers I was obviously wondering why they did not expand their current cricket hustle into a real business. The answer was simple - not enough space under the roof and it had never crossed their minds to build more roof space.

 

I asked, what if you had 400kg of crickets a month, could you still sell it all? The answer was an easy yes. So a few calculations later I convinced her family to sell half their life savings in gold worth 100k THB (you know this is not something Thais take lightly!) and we hired some engineers to build two cricket farms on some of their empty land.

 

 

4 years later, with the 100K investment I forced them to make, they are now making between 30-40k THB a month in profits (from the previous 10k factory job from my gfs father, and a couple 1000 a month from her stay-at-home mother growing some veggies and fruits)

According to the US embassy, Cambodia is still not issuing short stay/tourist visas - https://kh.usembassy.gov/new-cambodia-entry-requirements-and-covid-19-update/

I have been here on a tourist visa since March, or as many of you like to call a "non-proper" visa (even though it is as proper as any visa as long as you don't overstay/work). I have been living/traveling between Vietnam/Cambodia/Macau/Bali/Thailand for 7 year with a maximum of 90 days at each location. I consider them all my home, but Thailand just happened to be my last destination before everything closed down. If the Amnesty is not extended I will be forced to travel back to Europe where I have not been for at least 7 years with no family, home nor any people i am in touch with. It is unreasonable to assume that everyone can just return "home" to the country their passport happens to be from.

 

As long as all land borders are closed, and the nearest place that would allow entry is 8000 km away, it seems absurd to end the amnesty at this point. I will gladly pay any extension fee, report about my whereabouts, and I would gladly leave the country if there were reasonable options to travel to, but as 95% of the world is still closed (including the Thai borders) that is not the case.

 

I am here spending at least 50K Baht a month, proven to be Covid-free, and supporting a struggling economy - I am confident they will find a better solution than to send everyone back to a place they might have no relation to besides their passport

Because I have lived in Asia for the past 7 years, I have no family nor home to return to.

As D-day approaches and going back to Europe is not an option, which neighboring countries are open for tourists and what is required to obtain a tourist/short-term visa (medical/quarantine/insurance etc) traveling from thailand either by land or air?

Who said anything about gambling... thanks for the helpful reply, I am sure your other 5000 posts are just as insightful. I pay my taxes and stay well within the thai law. Not all legal fields of work will grant you a work permit here ????

So i get it, you all hate people like me, however I am on a long term tourist visa for the past 6 years living off savings

 

What do I do? I got 20 days left on my tourist visa and usually stay for 4*60 days (240 days a year in thailand (30 days + 30 days extention) + 120 days in vietnam.

 

now when both countries are closing their borders for foreigners and I have no other home country, where can I go? My passport is swedish but I have no family/place to return to.

 

I guess i just stay put and pay massive overstay fees and get banned from re-entry when this all blows over?
