I have a family member who works there many staff are doing renovations to the infrastructure. The employer has been generous to laid off staff and is guaranteeing salaries for most.

I think the Thai diet and general fitness of Thai people has held them in good stead with this vicious virus. The American diet however will prove the absolute opposite.

There are videos on twitter showing rooms full of filled body bags in Brooklyn and forklift trucks loading them onto refrigerated trailers. This is not the flu by any stretch and has only just begun it's deadly march in the US.

I've heard that if you need a ventilator then there's a 50-80% chance you'll die anyway. Probably better to sweat it out at home and hope for the best which is what most Thais will be doing anyway.
