Is this 60 day extension offer still available. I contacted your staff and was told it would now cost 8000 baht. When I asked about the previous price (3500 baht), I was told they still didn't know the price. My visa runs out on Nov. 30th, came on a Tourist Visa from US.
It was a pleasure doing business with you. Thank you for the prompt service and my hassle free 60 day extension.

We are now offering expedited full-service 60 day visa extensions now.
We charge 3,500 THB for this service (it includes the government fees as well).
Our only requirement is that your last visa was a tourist visa, and you must pay the overstay fines if amnesty is not extended.
Hi, is this service for any province (I am in Khon Kaen)? I entered on a single entry tourist visa about 10 months ago. Thanks! ????

Where? This is not the case in Jomtien, nor MTT from some reports (1 of which you responded to today in the MTT thread). They are giving the under consideration stamp instead AND charging people who paid 1900 in September.
I actually got my unused VOA extended in September to the 26th in CM and really have no idea what to expect when I show up at MTT this week...
I believe the folks who used an embassy letter and paid 1900 before Sept 26th are getting the Nov 30 stamps at the vast majority of immigration offices. For others (e.g. used regular 30 day extension), it seems to be hit or miss. Jomtien also appears to be rationing out days and requiring several visits even if you used an embassy letter, which is ridiculous.

I know what he's talking about. I just haven't heard of anyone arriving in Thailand with this visa yet. Have you?

You should contact the Thai embassy in your country. As of right now, I'm not sure if any "tourists" have actually been allowed in yet. I believe there is supposedly a small group coming from China in a week or two (but I wouldn't hold my breath).

Using the embassy letter you should've gotten stamped until Nov 30th (if you applied before Sept 26th), but I believe Jomtien is one of those offices that are doing things their own way. Of course this is YOUR decision, but I would get married if I were in your shoes, since we have no way of knowing when Thailand will re-open (or at least with fewer restrictions). Congratulations either way! ????

"No no, yours different, yours different!"
Hilarious, it still baffles me that something so simple can be misinterpreted (whether accidently or on purpose) by different immigration offices. I still want to know if the Dec. 30 stamps that some offices are issuing (e.g. Chiang Mai) are legit.

KK Immigration, no additional paper work required and got stamped until the end of Nov. It took a few hours because quite a few people came to close out their consideration loop that day, mostly migrants from neighboring countries. I would also recommend you show up on the exact date listed on your passport, unless it falls on the weekend of course.

Yikes, I hope these people do not assume Dec 30th is the correct date. I had the wrong date stamped in my passport a few times in Thailand the past several years. One time I got 90 days on a 30 day visa exempt entry at swampy.
Actually it seems enough people received this stamp where we can rule out it being an error (date incorrectly set on stamp). However, some people (in the same immigration offices) are getting the stamp dated until Dec. 30th while others are getting stamped until Nov 30th. Plus it only appears to be offered in two locations (Hua Hin and Chiang Mai). This is all very confusing, but yet so appropriate for Thailand, haha.

Good news. Did they say when people will be able to apply for the 60 day-ers? I'm thinking it'll be from 1 November.
There's no need for it to be before then, and they probably want to force more people without embassy letters to leave, and then anyone still remaining on 1 November (with an extended permission to stay until 30 November) will be able to begin applying for a further 60 days....
I was at KK immigration today and inquired about the 60 day visa as well. They said, they'll have a better idea from headquarters by the end of the month....I'm not even sure if they've worked out all the details yet.

This is a total slap in the face to people like me who left before the 26th after immigration made multiple threats. I even waited until the 24th, cutting it really short in my opinion.
What is their message here? People can stay another 30 days and then just keep extending at 60 days per time? That means they changed their mind about wanting us gone? This would have been helpful information BEFORE the amnesty expired and we were asked to go home.
My girlfriend called it from the start. She said they need the money and they won't send anyone home and keep extending. She even said I should listen to her because she's Thai and understands how Thai people think. Foolishly I listened to immigration and tried to keep legal and do what was required by law. Lesson learned I guess.
I truly sympathize with you. I was fortunate enough to get an embassy letter and get the extension, although in hindsight it wasn't necessary. Ironically, my fiancee said the exact same thing, that Thailand would change their mind at the last second. Guess that is just how things are done here. Best of luck to you.

Yes, it is now official (according to Reuters).
new +60 day extensions possible now too.
I just read the article as well, that 60 day extension would be nice. Not as many trips to immigration.

Regardless of any amnesty extension I was expecting to do this all over again next month anyways, I guess I got 4 extra days though. ????

Why don't they just extend for 90 days, same as the new Long Term. That's what they are after all, and they're Covid-sterile already ...
It could happen, nothing is set yet and the cabinet meets tomorrow. At this point, nothing this government does surprises me anymore. I wasted 6.5 hours getting the 30 day extension this time, and wasted 3 days getting the extension the first time, only to have the amnesty retroactively kick in (likely twice). It is what it is, but I am grateful to be here.

1900 baht is a bargain. For those of us locked out, the cost to get in is min $2000 - flight, ASQ, Covid tests, visa fees etc
I agree, 1900 baht is really nothing for western standards. I saw tons of migrant workers/immigrants at KK shelling out 1900 and they did not look too happy. Thats roughly 20-30 percent of their monthly salary.

They get rewarded with an extra trip to the immigration office to close out the consideration stamp.????

How can you extend something that has already expired? The amnesty already expired on Saturday. The correct term surely is that they are (allegedly at this time) introducing a new amnesty from what I assume will be Monday, the 28th. So those who didn't leave when the amnesty expired will have been on one days overstay. Maybe if they now go for the new amnesty they'll be fined 500 baht for that. I have little doubt that some IOs will try it on.
Just make it retroactive like the original amnesty. Announced in April but dated for March 26th. But I can see IOs trying to pull this off as well. LOL

The amount of foreigners may be a drop in the bucket compared with migrant labour. My observations over three visits to Udon Thani immigration on three separate days last week was a sum total of only half a dozen farangs.
Yup same with KK immigration. 99 percent of people in the packed office were from Laos and Vietnam.

and things go on and on LOL
Exactly, if Thai immigration has all your info and TM30, they need to exercise some common sense and just let people pay month to month online (welcome to the 21st century) or do a blanket amnesty until this whole mess blows over. As the fall/winter months come, Covid cases are already beginning to increase in a lot of countries, which will make people even more reluctant to leave.

I doubt there will be another amnesty, but there might be some type of announcement made on Tuesday after the next cabinet meeting. I've heard about and personally witnessed the massive lines at the immigration offices, but I've heard very little about the situation at Swampy. Are folks even flying out?

Covid-19 Insurance for those inside Thailand
in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Posted
Does anyone have recommendations for Covid-19 insurance for foreigners already in Thailand. I've been here for an extended period of time (since early 2020) on a tourist visa, and would like to get insurance just to be on the safe side. Thanks!
