  1. Send your wife to me and the average IQ in your house will rise dramatically
  2. So you don't understand what I am writing? Then you have to go back to school for learning reading comprehension, Pannenkoek.
  3. Mr. Pancake is probably derived from the nickname "Banana Pancake" The name we give to the lowlife travellers that have not enough money to enjoy fully SE Asia. Renting an $11 room says it all. In my native language pancake is translated "Pannenkoek" it's also a name we give to extreme and utterly dumb persons.
  4. So at the bottom line using dollars in Cambodia is not stupid. The OP had various examples of how to obtain them at the lowest rates and fees. Another line in all the conversations is that the OP finds Cambodia an expensive and dirty country, well that's the homework he had to do before traveling to the country.
  5. You're right, I was only reacting on the post by @NextG who mentioned ATM fee less exchange of Thai Baht. As stated earlier in Cambodia I only use Cash Dollars. My Wise card and iPhone Wallet app I use in shops around SE Asia. It's not possible to add Cambodia Riel to your Wise account so you must use Dollars. When obtaining cheap cash dollars at the lowest rate and without fee's This is still the best way. Trick: try to find in your homecountry shops and exchange offices who accept cash dollars. They accept them at the most horrible rate for tourists visiting your country. Robbing/scamming Tourists is not only in SE Asia, for instance look at airport shops worldwide. You can buy those dollars for less than the rate system banks states. The shops will be happy because they don't have to pay transfer fee to their currency and still make some profit and you buy cheaper dollars than the interbank rate. I agree that Wise is in the rest of SE Asia a very good way to get not robbed by the system banks. I have debit credit on my Wise card in various currency like Malayan Ringgit, Vietnamese Dong and Singapore Dollars and works like a charm, only the ATM fee is <deleted> but can accept that. Paying cardless in shops around Asia works very good and without fee. The only fee you pay is the exchange fee Wise get when adding to your card which is very low.
  6. If you don't pay the 220thb ATM fee this will be absolute the best deal. Are you using Thai cards? As I stated in an earlier post I use Wise to send money to my Thai bank account at lowest fee and the best possible rate. That also give me the opportunity avoiding the ATM fee. Another good alternative is Revolut.
  7. Terrible news, I hope you fully recover from this accident.
  8. I have to call your BS again, In an other Topic you started. I read your complaint about the prices in PP. $2,5 a beer, but during happy hour sometimes $1 or $0,75 those are still cheaper prices than Thailand. You booked a hotelroom for $11. What you expect from that price? $10 to $20 rooms are used for ST even in Thailand and especially around street 136 in PP. You are on a budget and are trying to get the most of your bucks from you welfare check for thirty days and decided to go to a third world country to get the most out of it. But reality kicked in, you were not expecting that the Khmer people also want some benefits from the tourists and trying to cope with inflation. Budgeting hotel costs for a month at some $300 to $400 is ridiculous this price range will bring me only 3 to 5 days in the best hotels available. They are also on Agoda. You and I Sir are not playing the same league and for you it's a long way to play Premiership. BTW Kalasin province is hundreds of kilometers away from Si Sa Ket province. As I say I have a residence near the Cambodian border with a view on the Kulen mountain range with a lot of Khmer influence. Comparing those two provinces is comparing flat rice fields with Mountain View a bit silly isn't.
  9. Yes indeed the K card I use for my Thai Baht sorry for the Off Topic. In Cambodia and Vietnam I use my cheap Dollars as mentioned in my earlier post (On Topic) Sad to read you stay in the cheapest hotels you can find on Agoda (try Momondo much cheaper) but what saddened me the most is that you have to eat and drink on your hotel room what you ordered by Grab. Transportation costs in Cambodia I don't know, because I use my own car. I live in Si Sa ket near the Cambodian border
  10. I call your BS, Cambodia is from the three countries you mentioned still the cheapest, maybe the beer in Vietnam is cheaper when you go to a local Bia Hoi corner. Accommodations, food and drinks are in Cambodia the lowest of SE Asia except Laos I think. Tell me where can you find $1 GT's or beer in LOS/Vietnam (brand name no Bia Hoi)? I prefer my drinks in a bar or restaurant not in front of the 7-11. I also sleep in hotels not hostels. About ripping off tourists Thailand is absolute King followed by Vietnam, Cambodia is a quick learner. Here is a Wise lesson: I transfer at lowest possible fee (1.5%) with the highest rate, my Euro's into Baht to my Kasikorn account. My K-card is not charged any fee at the ATM when collecting cash. With my Wise wallet in my phone I can pay at any store in SE Asia. Filling my debit card wallet via Wise in any local currency (Baht/Dong) is even a cheaper fee (0.67%) with the highest rate compared to all the system banks. Oh and BTW you can have a Happy Pizza just for $4 in PP, please try makes you more relaxed.
  11. Then I don't understand your joke. Cambodia is a beautiful country with lots to do. Siem Reap nightlife, Ankor Wat and surroundings PP nightlife in street 51 with two famous nightclubs and the RLD in street 136 up, also very good restaurants trough out the city. Kep/Kampot for deliciousness Black Pepper Crab and of course their famous pepper plantations. The former French/Indochina Riviera with very good resorts. Sihanoukville and the Islands. What's not to like? The country is going with the flow of quality tourists, Backpackers on a budget can better go to Laos.
  12. I was also thinking this was a joke post. Been many times to Cambodia and will go next January. I have never exchanged Dollars for Riel. All my payments I do is in cash Dollars even in the small villages. The problem in Cambodia is that they don't have small change from, for instance big Dollar bills $10 and up. $1, $2 and $5 sometimes $10 will do the trick. The big notes $20, $50 and $100 I use for my hotel payments and have never had a problem with accepting. I get my Dollars cheap because the American tourists whom visiting my country are accepting my exchange rate for my Euro's. It's a win win situation.
  13. Okay People, lets get to the point. I scrolled down 4 pages and only found two post containing a small review of the beers and how they taste. Can anybody who tasted the Carabao beers be more specific of how they are? and are they any good?
  14. Last April and March of this year. I was staying for 30 days on my visa exemption, the exact amount of days allowed on this visa type. I was not aware that the visa the IO gave me was just 29 days. He stamped the visa from 11th of April till 10th of March. When I was at the Immigration on the 11th of March I was guided to the kiosk behind Immigration where they told me I had an overstay of one day. I pointed out that April only have 30 days and not 31, so they probably made a mistake. The IO understood what I explained but she also told me that this info was from their system so that was leading. She also told me that it was not a problem because I was leaving whitin 24 hours after the visa was due. I got my passport back and she wished me a save flight. I did not had to pay a fine nor I got a overstay stamp in my passport.

  17. I pay in the 7/11 with my iPhone with Apple Pay. I installed my Wise debat card in my Apple Pay wallet. I open the wallet with my face ID and select the card to use. Very Easy very Fast.
  18. I use a odourless balm from L'Occitane to sooth the skin and a splash of YVRA 1958 to smell nice the whole day. It brings my inner Dandy out ????
  19. A few things i don't understand and did not read in this tread. When you apply for a TP, after the whole procedure and after sending application. You will receive a confirmation and as a receipt you get a four digit number, that you can use to check the status of your application. Did you receive any of the above? If so, what was the status of your apllication? Have you checked? If not, there was no application send. Also, did you check your Spam/Junk folder in mail?
  20. Test&Go will only return for people with a 3rd booster vaccination. The list of 63 save countries will be revised.
  21. You are wrong. All the people I spoke in several provinces in issaan already had their 2 vaccines months ago. My GF lives in a small village in Si Sa Ket, and all villagers have had their booster shot already. This campaign started a month ago. Not only in the big city Si Sa Ket but also in the smaller ones like Kantharalak and small villages throughout the province. The same is for Surin province. When I was in Bangkok last month lot of people I spoke where already boostered especcialy people in healthcare and retail. In all the shops in the big malls and local shops in cities and villages in the issaan you see signs on the shop windows that personel is fully vaccinated.
  22. Yes there is. Its called Sandbox. It’s almost the same as the Test & Go in Bangkok. But you have to stay in Chiang Mai for at least 7 days. Better choose the Test & Go package in Bangkok after 1 day and with a negative PCR test you can go wherever you want with the exception of certain provinces. https://www.thaiembassy.com/travel-to-thailand/chiang-mai-sandbox
  23. Are you sure you want to do this? better take a fishtrawler
