What is this all about?  It’s clear that those who have been vaxed twice last year have no/minimal immunity remaining.  Some knowledgeable researchers would argue that these people (those vaxed with lapsed ‘immunity’) are even more susceptible to being infected by the virus. I am tempted to believe that these new entry regulations are being put in place to give the appearance of taking meaningful action … to make those in power look good to voters. Any thought that these measures will stop or reduce Covid are delusional. The fact that the regulations don’t apply to Thai citizens tends to add further strength to this argument.

Exactly, giving the appearence of taking meaningful action without angering chinese officials.

    That's it.

    I predict that too.  ????

Thai pass, mandatory mask wearing everywhere outsode the house, temperature checks entering places,  booster and more vaccines for all the new varients, restricted bar opening times, dirty looks and avoiding anyone who is not Thai for fear they are disease ridden, etc etc.  So boring.  If this happens again I will leave.  I can't stand another round of that stupidity and political <deleted>!

This is not happening, there is a limit to stupidity.

I am no fan of the Chinese and criticise them continually, especially as I am stuck here. Talk about dramatisation or simple scare mongering.  500 million in the first few months! Jeez.

Please share those links to what you read. I cant wait.:coffee1:

500 millions, basically more than 1/3 of China population dying of covid which has a more than 99% survival rate.

Imagine believing something so absurd lol

Funny thin about all this is that everyone I know puts on a mask when going out, practices social distancing and uses the free alcohol gel available in the shops and malls, and then go straight back to sit with there other dozen friends around the pool with no masks, no distancing and all eating nuts off the same bowl !

    Because it's all a charade, a show.

Most people just got used to do it as a daily routine

I came back from the Canaries last week....didn't need to wear a mask on the plane even.

Looks like it will be a fair few months before Thailand is "properly" open then?

I was hoping to go to Thailand this October, was hoping by then the Thai pass etc. would be done with, even if it is, would be a right pain having to wear a mask...particularly outside and at beaches etc! Madness!

In Pattaya,Phuket,Samui most people are not wearing masks anymore.

    Especially foreigners, you'll be fine.

In Bangkok it's still being used by almost everyone though

  6. It doesn't matter if you think your mask "protected you", you'll get covid anyway sooner or later.

The only way you won't catch it if you isolate yourself from the world forever.

I just want to say for all you none believers that a good mask does protect you. As I spend a few hours at a friends house last week and he has tested positive to covid yesterday. N95 don't leave home without one.

Why not just follow the UK and pretend it doesn’t exist, because that’s going so well.

    Yes it's going great.

That's the smartest thing to do, closing bar at 11 am or "Thailand pass" it's not going to stop covid.
